Determinants of User Immersion for Korean Drama and Entertainment Genre Programs among Chinese Students in Korea (중국 유학생의 한국 드라마 및 오락 프로그램 몰입 결정 요인)

  • This study examines determinants of user immersion for Korean drama and entertainment genre programs among Chinese students in Korea. The major results are as follows: firstly, user immersion for entertainment genre was more greater than that of drama genre. Although drama was tended to evaluated based on star appearance and narrative structure, entertainment program was favored by its pleasure and vividness. Secondly, there were gender differences for entertainment and drama genre programs between male and female respondents. Also, there was a correlation between drama immersion and duration of stay. Thirdly, although determinants of drama immersion were program characteristics, duration of stay and drama preference, those of entertainment immersion were program characteristics, appearance of star players and entertainment preference.

  • 교육의 국제화로 인해 국내 대학에 재학 중인 유학생의 수가 매년 증가하고 있다. 그러나 유학생들이 학습 자원을 얻기 위한 가장 큰 정보원인 대학도서관은 유학생들을 위한 다국어 지원 서비스를 충분히 제공하고 있지 않은 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대학도서관에서 제공하는 서비스 중 다국어 지원이 가능한 서비스 요인들을 선정하고 해당 요인들이 유학생들의 대학도서관 이용 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 선행연구를 바탕으로 사서/직원의 서비스(응답능력, 태도), 도서관 시설 이용(시설 안내, 장비 사용), 자료 접근 및 이용(홈페이지, 서가 배치), 이용자 서비스(이용자교육, 기타서비스)를 요인을 도출하였고 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 도서관 시설 이용이 대학도서관 이용 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있었으며 사서/직원의 서비스와 이용자 서비스 또한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • We have been analyzed by research on the characteristics of professional consciousness, professional preparation, employment, and career life aimed at Chinese students. There is a tendency that overall trend is almost the same, even though there might be a small difference according to the characteristics of Chinese students' gender and scholastic year. Especially, a drift to the economic aspect of professional consciousness is a reflection of increasing hardship on our society. In spite of now is the era of disappearing permanent job and being changed to the concept of lifelong career, there is exceedingly rare places for getting education of professional consciousness or related information. It is needed to inform upright professional consciousness and to educate the Chinese students.

  • This study aimed to develop an educational program for improving the learning competencies of major courses for Chinese graduate students who account for more than 70% of international students in Korea. In this study, the program was developed using Caffarella and Daffron's interactive model. Due to the internationalization of education, the number of foreigners who study in Korea for degree courses has already exceeded 100,000, but the dropout rate has increased due to the maladjustment to university life. More specifically, they face difficulties in academic achievement because of a lack of understanding lecture contents, conducting research, and presenting in class. Therefore, this study surveyed the Chinese students in the graduate course to identify the difficulties and needs in their study of major courses and to reflect those needs (major knowledge, communication, assignment writing, and presentation) in program development. This study focused on developing an educational program for improving their learning competencies of major courses rather than simply improving Korean language skills or adapting to university life. The results of the study are expected to help Chinese Graduate students perform well in their major course studies and make their study abroad successful.

Mediating effect of Self-Leadership in relationship between College-Life Satisfaction and Academic Self-Efficacy of Beauty Major Chinese Students (미용전공 중국유학생의 대학생활만족도와 학업적 자기효능감의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과)

  • This study was conducted to find the mediating effect of self-leadership in the relationship between academic self-efficacy and college-life satisfaction of Chinese students majoring in beauty. Surveys were answered by 400 Chinese students from July to August 2019 and analyzed as follows. We used the SPSS22.0 program and Process macro for SPSS to analyze the frequency, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and bootstrap method. The results of the analysis showed a positive correlation among the college-life satisfaction, self-leadership, and academic self-efficacy of Chinese students, and self-leadership acted as a partially mediating variable between academic self-efficacy and college-life satisfaction. Therefore, it was found that a higher college-life satisfaction and self-leadership resulted in a higher academic self-efficacy. Based on these results, in order to alleviate the problems of college life maladjustment and low learning efficiency of Chinese students majoring in beauty, the development of self-leadership education programs is becoming more important. This must be emphasized in the Edu-Tech era due to the need for customized education programs for international students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Comparative Analysis of Financial Well-Being and Management Practice between Korean and Chinese Families in the U.S.A. (재미 한국 가계와 중국 가계의 재정복지 및 재산관리행동 비교분석)

  • 본고는 저소득층 재미유학생을 중심으로 한국가구와 중국가구의 가계재정복지 및 관리행동의 인식을 비교.검토하였다. 표본의 크기는 한국 10가구와 중국11가구였다. 재정후생 조사결과에 의하면 한국 가구는 중국 가구에 비해 자산취득 등 소비에 있어서는 더 높은 평균소득을 가졌음에도 불구하고 소득수준에 더 많은 불만을 나타내고 잇었다. 재정관리행동 조사는 중국가구가 더 즉흥적인 혹은 예산밖의 소비를 하고 있는 것을 보여주고 있다. 또한 한국 가구는 재정관리 및 소비지출을 부부중심으로 행하는 반면, 중국 가구는 남편중심으로 행하고 있었으며 중국가구가 재정관리 및 소비에 대하여 더 높은 불화를 나타내고 있었다. 더불어 한국가구는 주로 부인들이 구매하는 적은 금액의 지출에, 중국 가구는 남편들이 구매하는 큰 금액의 지출에 상대적으로 더 많은 불화를 나타내었다. 한편 한국 가구의 구매불화조정은 남편에 의해, 중국 가구의 불화조정은 부인에 의해 주로 이루어 지고 있었다.

Qualitative Analysis of Chinese University Students' Online Learning Experience in Korea During the Covid-19 Pandemic (코로나19 시기 재한 중국인 유학생들의 온라인 수업경험에 대한 질적 분석)

  • This study explores the online learning experiences of Chinese foreign students in Korea by using the CQR process and method. To gather data, researchers conducted online, in-depth interviews with 15 Chinese university students in Korea who were enrolled in the spring and fall semesters in 2020. After compiling the research, the data were segmented into four domains and 13 categories, with 36 subcategories identified from among foreign students' online learning experiences. The results show that Chinese students perceived the convenience of online classes and personalized learning as its strength, but considered lowered motivation and lack of concentration as weaknesses. Also, they experienced an increase in the amount of learning, spending more time studying online, using personal learning strategies, and getting help from friends and the university's online learning system. Moreover, they experienced difficulties related to class notifications, guidance, and interactions with the instructors. Foreign students studying in Korea need their instructor's facilitation in order to understand and participate in online classes, reinforcing a student's self-directed learning ability, and need appropriate guidance and support in terms of the online class environment.

Effects of Clothing Involvement on Brand Attachment and Brand Loyalty -With Special Reference to Chinese College Students in Busan- (의복관여도 요인이 브랜드 애착과 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향 -부산지역의 대학교에 재학 중인 중국 유학생을 중심으로-)

  • The living standards of Chinese people are gradually rising, which has led more Chinese students to come to Korea for their academic career. In this respect, it seems significant to find out how clothing involvement affects brand attachment and brand loyalty of Chinese college students in Busan. In this study, we attempt to identify factors of clothing involvement that influence Chinese students' turn of mind towards brand attachment and brand loyalty. The results of our analysis are as follows: 1. Five factors of clothing involvement have been derived: fashion trend, favorable impression, planning, indifference and choice. For brand attachment, three factors of brand show-off, brand gravity and brand pride have been derived. 2. Factors of clothing involvement have positive effects on factors of brand attachment, and brand attachment also have significant effects on brand loyalty. 3. Clothing involvement significantly affects brand loyalty indirectly via brand attachment.

Oral health of Chinese students in Korea by behavior of oral care (국내 중국인 유학생의 구강건강관리행태에 따른 구강건강 삶의 질)

  • To prepare a method for improving the oral health-related quality of life for Chinese foreign students by examining the oral health care behavior affecting the oral health-related quality of life, a self-administered survey was conducted with 236 Chinese foreign students at an university located in Jeonbuk during April 2 -May 5, 2013. The results showed that 65.3% had not visited the dentist within one year, 82.6% had not received scaling within one year, and 68.2% had not received oral health education. In regards to the OHIP-14 according to the general characteristics, there was a significant difference in the school year, health insurance enrollment status and overseas study life satisfaction (p<0.05). In regards to the OHIP-14 according to the oral health care behavior, there was a significant difference in the subjective oral health condition, the experience of having visited a dentist within one year and an experience of having received scaling (p<0.05). As for the influencing factors on the oral health-related quality of life, they were found to be the subjective oral health condition and the experience of having received scaling within one year (p<0.05). For the purpose of helping Chinese foreign students to conveniently use medical institutions when oral health-related problems arise, there is a need for a translated version of the guidebook in their native language, the availability of medical professional interpreters, the availability of a university level oral health service center, and practical oral health education to enhance oral health.

  • 북한은 동구 공산권이 붕괴되기 전 과학기술 분야에서 동구권 및 구소련과 많은 교류가 이루어졌으며 중국, 베트남 등과도 유학생 교류가 활발했다. 최근에는 유럽 여러 나라들이 북한과 수교됨에 따라 5백여명의 과학자들을 파견한 것으로 알려졌고 미국의 한 대학도 김책공대와 과학기술 분야에서 공동연구키로 협약했다고 한다.
