Structure of Forest Communities in Chiak Mountain National Park - Case Study of Guryong Temple - Birobong Area - (치악산 국립공원의 삼림군집 구조 -구룡사-비로봉지역을 중심으로-)

  • To investigate the forest structure of Guryongsa-Birobong area in Mt. Chiak, four districts were selected and forty-five plots were set up at the districts. The leading dominant species of District I, the valley forest in which users' density was very high. was Pinus densiflora. That of District II, the valley forest in which users' density was high. and Districs III, the valley forest in which entering was restricted recently. was Comus controversa. That of District III, the ridge forest in which users' density high, was Quercus mongolica. Species diversities of District I, II, III, and IV were 1.3252, 1.3736, 14421, and 1.2546, respectively. DCA ordination were showed that successional trends of tree species seem to be from Pinus densiflora through Quercus spp. to Carpinus laxtflora in ridge and midslope forest and from Pinus densiflora through Quercus spp. to Comtus controversa and Carpinus cordata.

A Study on the Chemical Composition and Hypocholesterolaemic Effect of Aster scaber and Ixeris dentata (참취 및 씀바귀의 성분조성과 혈청 지질저하작용에 대한 연구)

  • The effects of Aster scaber(Cham chyi) and Ixeris dentata(Sumbagui) of composite were studied on lipid metabolism in rats. Thirty rats were divided into five groups and fed diets containing 1% cholesterol, 0.25% sodium cholate, 10% coconut oil and 5% lard(control group) for 4 weeks. For each experimental diet added was 5% plant powder or extract of the plant which was equivalent to 5% Plant powder by dry weight. The lipid components of serum were assayed. The concentration of the total cholesterol was significantly lower in Cham chyi, and Sumbagui powder and the extract groups of those powder than the control group. The concentration of HDL-cholesterol was significantly higher in rats fed Cham chyi and Sumbagui powder than the control group. The concentration of LDL, LDL-cholestrol, VLDL and chylomicron were comparatively lower in Cham chyi and Sumbagui powder groups than those in the control group. The concentration of seum triglyceride was lower in Cham chyi powder fed group than the control group.

Bioactive Functions of Detoxified Puffer Liver Oil (제독처리한 복어 간유의 생리활성)

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of detoxified puffer liver (PL) oil on fatigue, hepatotoxicity and hyperlipidemia. There are no toxicities in both raw and purified PL oil. The test of swimming time was extended in detoxified PL oil pretreated group compared to the non-treated group. When rats treated with PL oil, the hepatic injuries induced by carbon tetrachloride or DL-galactosamine were reduced. The increased serum triglyceride and total cholesterol by poloxamer-407 were lowered by treating with PL oil remarkably. Also the bleeding time of hyperlipidemic animals was extended and plasma clotting time was delayed by PL oil.

Effects of Soybean Extract on Serum Lipid Contents in Fed Fat Diet Rats (대두 추출물이 지방식이를 급여한 흰쥐의 혈청 지질 성분에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of soybean extracts on serum lipid contents were evaluated in rats. Ninety-eight male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing $100{\pm}10g$ were divided into fourteen groups and fed different fat diets for four weeks. The experimental groups were divided into; control, saturated fat diet, unsaturated fat diet and high fat diet respectively were fed 1% cholesterol group. The serum total lipid were higher in saturated fat diet group than in control group. The contents of total-cholesterol in serum of the saturated fat diet group was significantly higher than other groups. The contents of HDL-cholesterol in serum of the soybean extract group were higher than those other fat diet group. The contents of LDL-cholesterol in serum of the soybean extract group were lower than other fat diet groups. The soybean extract group of lipid was significantly lower in other groups.

  • In Joseon dynasty, national roads for mainly official trips, were designed to connect capital directly to each county seat or eupchi, and militarily strategic points. The entrance of county seat where national road reach to (sometimes there has been a gate of fortress), regarded as main entrance of the county seat Also the direction county office or gwan-a ordinally heads was regarded as main entrance. Therefore, starting point of national road from county seat was not always heading for capital, but south because most of county offices head south. Nevertheless, actual traffic often ignore such a symbolic rule, and formed another practical routes.

Anti-obesity Effects of Red Pigment of Schisandra chinensis by Extract Conditions (추출 조건을 달리한 오미자 유래 적색소의 항비만 효과)

  • 본 연구는 오미자 유래의 적색소를 추출하는데 있어 최적의 경제성과 생리활성을 나타내는 추출공정을 확립하고자 실시하였다. 국내산 오미자 건조물을 증류수와 함께 1시간, 3시간, 8시간, 16시간, 24시간 동안 $4^{\circ}C$, $15^{\circ}C$$60^{\circ}C$에서 적색소를 추출하였으며 각 추출조건의 추출물을 농축하여 수분을 제거한 뒤 무게와 OD값을 측정하였다. 농축물의 무게는 16시간 $15^{\circ}C$, 24시간 $15^{\circ}C$, 16시간 $60^{\circ}C$ 추출조건 순으로 높게 나타났으며 OD값은 16시간 $60^{\circ}C$에서 가장 높은 값을 나타내었다. 이들 추출물을 마우스 유래 adipocyte (3T3-L1)에 처리하여 5일간 배양한 후 세포내 지방 축적 억제 정도를 실험한 결과 세포내 중성지방은 모든 추출물 처리군에서 control과 비교시 유의적으로 억제되었다. 특히 추출온도와 관계없이 8시간 이상 추출한 모든군에서 control군보다 20% 이상 감소하였다. C57BL/6 생쥐를 이용하여 고지방식이로 비만을 유도하면서 오미자 추출물을 경구투여 한 뒤 체중증가를 조사한 결과 고지방식이군과 비교하여 유의적으로 체중이 감소함을 보였다. 따라서 오미자 유래 적색소를 추출하기 위한 추출공정에서 용매로 물을 사용할 경우 추출시간은 최소 8시간 이상, 추출온도는 실온 또는 $60^{\circ}C$에서 실시하는 것이 최적 추출 공정 조건으로 사료된다.

Record-Based Locality of Ulsan during the Joseon Dynasty: Focused on Ulsan Port (기록으로 본 조선시대 울산의 로컬리티: 울산항을 중심으로)

  • This study investigated Ulsan locality during Joseon by searching and analyzing various records related to the Ulsan port including old literature, documents, and maps, and oral records relating to traditional knowledge, as well as extracting keywords arranged by the time series and space to reenact Ulsan Port and Ulsan during Joseon. The study examined the characteristics of Yeompo, which served defense and trade functions through Waegwan in the former half of Joseon, Gaewoonpo, Seosaengpo, and Dosanseong, which underwent damage during Imjinwaeran and other wars in middle Joseon, and Bangeojin, which operated state-owned ranches and defense facilities including signal fires through to the latter half of Joseon, Jangsaengpo, which played the role of a whaling zone, and neahwang-naru, iron mine of Dalcheon, trying to reproduce the trajectory of the Ulsan during Joseon. Research on the locality transfiguration process of the port will help establish the locality of the entire Ulsan.

Design and Development Research of a Parametric Array Transducer for High Directional Underwater Communication (고지향 수중 통신을 위한 파라메트릭 어레이 트랜스듀서의 설계 및 개발 연구)

  • A parametric array is a nonlinear phenomenon that generates a narrow beam of low-frequency sound using the nonlinearity of the medium. The low-frequency sound so generated has a low sound pressure compared with that of sound generated directly. Consequently, a transducer that can generate a primary wave with high directivity and level is required. This study designed, fabricated, and evaluated a multi-resonance transducer as a parametric array source. The designs of the unit transducers and array transducer were based on an analysis model. The design process was repeated to fabricate the optimum transducer. The fabricated transducer array can generate a 189 dB, 190 dB primary wave level at 6.3 m and a 134 dB difference frequency wave using the parametric array phenomenon. The difference frequency wave has a frequency of 15 kHz and high directivity with an $8^{\circ}$ half power beam width in a $12{\times}18{\times}10m$ water tank.

  • The Piseo-ri site in Muan provides significant data in investigation on the Paleolithic sites in the southwest coast of Korea. Stratigraphic and geological analysis indicates that the characteristic of soil wedge can vary in accordance with soil property and relief of paleo-surface. Considering that the cultural layer was deposited after the Last Glacial Maximum, co-occurrence of the late Middle to early Upper Paleolithic stone tools suggests a possibility of redeposition of different ages resulted from active erosion. The result shows that the distribution of the Paleolithic tools and the property of soil wedge could be controlled by environmental conditions such as relief of paleo-surface and climate.

  • Malfunction of gutter systems in the slope area accelerate to percolate surface flow into underground and to cause the decrease of soil strength, Overflowing from gutter causes soil erosion from slope surface, secondary it is one of the main reasons to cause disaster in the hillside area. Much researches were reported and are undergoing about flood disaster in the down stream area, but rare in the upper reach(hillside). It is considered that improving function of gutter in the hillside is very important to prevent the disaster caused by rainfall. In this paper, After analyzing relationship between rainfall and disaster on the hillside in Busan, researches about having surface flow run into gutter effectively and preventing from overflowing outside of gutter on the hillside in Busan were carried out. Improved design methods of gutter are suggested to mitigate disaster in the sloping area by analysis of collected data and hydraulic model test.
