This paper is the result of study on what Is the characteristics of digital document, how to manage it, and what Is the consideration to manage it, compared to the conventional paper document. For the document structuring, I also explain the relationship between SGML and HyTime, and , at the same time, suggest in detail the practical examples of HyTime application.

본 연구의 배경은 공공도서관 사인시스템의 현황과 지속적인 활용에 있다. 수많은 정보 중 필요한 정보를 선별하고 수용하는 것이 중요한 현대사회에서 사인시스템은 원만한 상호작용을 위한 주요수단이다. 특히 복잡한 구조와 공간의 기능을 함께 지니고 있는 도서관에서 정보를 파악하기 위해서 명확한 지각효과를 갖춘 사인의 역할은 무엇보다 중요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 이용자가 공공도서관을 이용할 때 어떠한 요소가 정보를 수용하고 시각적으로 인지하는데 많은 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 그리고 선정된 도서관을 대상으로 기능 및 시각적 요소에 따라 사례분석을 한 후 이용자 만족도 조사를 실시하여 효과적이고 편리하게 도서관을 이용할 수 있도록 정보를 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

For the past 50 years, Korean library researchers have zealously absorbed foreign thoughts and techniques without filtering them discreetly. Both research themes and methods have been freely borrowed and put into practice. This practice has been taken for granted for LIS researchers in Korea. But, lack of understanding of our own library field, has produced problems for researchers. This is because libraries of each country have its own developmental stage and cultural heritage. Therefore, I would say that researchers should be cautious in the application of foreign theories. In Korea, this kinds of filtering process has been neglected in the past. LIS research must have close relations with practical library work. LIS theories and practices in Korea should be hopefully based on the needs of the Korean society. In short, Korea should have a LIS, which serve the needs and ideals of the library and society of Korea.

This study was carried out on the citations within the chemistry field Ph.D. dissertations to ascertain what types of documents are the most frequently used in the research process, the most frequently consulted journals and obsolescence rate of the journals. The analysis covered 42 doctoral theses presented at 'K' university in Seoul from 2000 to 2008. The results obtained from the 3,258 citations revealed that the most frequently used documents were Academic Journal, which accounted for 91 percent of the total; 27 journals met 50 percent of the information needs; and the age of 50 percent of the citations was no older than 9 years. Finally, the results can be used as a tool for the collection management of the library. and Researcher with the chemistry field Ph.D. dissertation.

본 연구는 범주와 현대의 주요 문헌분류표의 주류선정에 있어서의 상관성에 대해 규명해보고자 한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 범주의 유래와 의미를 알아보고 철학적 관점, 논리학적 관점, 문헌정보학 관점에서 범주가 어떤 기능을 하고 어떠한 유형이 있는지 논하였다. 다음으로 문헌분류의 주류선정이 어떻게 이루어지고, 범주가 어떻게 적용되었는지 그 상관성에 대해서 분석하였다.

본 연구는 한글 문헌을 컴퓨터를 이용하여 축약하는 시스템 구축에 관한 연구로서, 기존의 '완전 자동축약'에 따른 축약문 생성의 편협성을 해결하기 위하여 '자동축약 + 후통제 처리'라는 절충형 시스템 관리 형태로 실제 실현 가능한 시스템을 설계한다는데 그 큰 목적이 있다. 대상 문헌에 대한 구체적 적응 문법은 언어학적 문법 이론인 '격문법 이론'과 '성분 이론'을 그 핵심으로 이용하여 문장을 '의미 있는 어절' 단위로 추출, 해당 문헌을 축약하는 방법을 택하였다.

Library and information science(LIS) research, as reflected in its own disciplinary and professional history, has been ignorant of the transitions and developments of other humanities and social science disciplines. For instance, the positivistic perspectives in research have been maintained in the field while other disciplines have been experimenting wide variety of research methods and aspects. This paper attempts to articulate that LIS research should play an appropriate role in analyzing and investigating various key-words in modern knowledge society. In this regard it scrutinizes the applicability and implications of discourse analysis. It specifically surveys the historical background of the development of LIS research; then it explains the dimensions of discourse analysis and some principles; and, finally it shows some examples of research projects that emp1oy these perspectives.

The purpose of this paper is to trace the changes in the curricula of the Departments of Library and Information Science in the past fifty years. Under the assumption that the education for librarians is supposed to be changed by the influences of the various surroundings, the curricula in the 1960s, 1980s and 2000s of the Departments are analyzed. The past data were collected by literature searches and the present ones on the homepages. It was found out that there have been many changes along with constancies in the curricula. The results are interpreted and some recommendations are suggested.

경쟁정보는 정보학과 지식경영의 구조(frameworks)에, CIA등 군사정보기관과 경영학에서 사용하는 정보분석방법과, IT의 정보처리기술을 분석도구로 활용한다. 경쟁정보의 업무내용을 정보사이클로서 제시하고, 사이클 내에서 문헌정보학 분야가 담당하여할 분야를 제시하였다. 문헌정보학과에서의 경쟁정보에 관한 교육프로그램과 연구내용을 통하여 학제 연구의 가능성을 살펴보았다.

The purpose of this study was to analyzes the present conditions of reference databases which is constructed from Korea. The object which is used in analysis concludes on KSCI( Korean Science Citation Index) of KISTI, KCI(Korean Citation Index) of KRF, KoMCI(Korean Medical Citation Index) of Korean Academy of Medical Sciences, and reference database of KOSEF. And then, this paper proposes the activation plan for reference database construction based on this analysis result. The proposed plan will be able to apply with fundamental data of the system, policy and technical direction for reference database construction.
