As information technology has been evolving, digital library emerges as a vision of future library. Many authors on digital library describe that the problems that today's libraries face would be completely solved by using digital technology. But it is su n.0, pposed that such technology oriented papers do not take care of what the library has been and should remain. This paper is prepared to identify what core elements of library services being provided in traditional environment must be transferred to the digital library. For this purpose, firstly historical transition from traditional library to digital discussed. Secondly, library's fundamental service functions are analysed from three points of view-library as cultural and social institution, library as intellectual reality, library as a collection. And 'control zone' concept is also investigated as a new possibility of academic digital libraries. In contrast to open zone in which information is not controled at all as in internet, in control zone, information is selected and maintained by academic library community, retaining such essential library functions as selection.

This study was carried out in order to catalogue the native plants of 17 islands of Chungcheongnam-do Province from March to October, 2011. 905 pages of field notes relating to the native plants were collected from approximately 50 local inhabitants, and were subsequently analysed. The identified native plants were of 274 taxa, composed of 246 species, 3 subspecies, 22 varieties and 3 forms of 219 genera under 84 families. In accordance with their usage, they were classified into; 169, edible; 134, medicinal; 67, ornamental; 17, spice; 7, aroma; 7, fuel; 6, oil; 5, dye; 4, nectar; 3, fiber; 1, resin; 26, other plants. Coincidence degree dependent on age between the standard name and the local name was the highest at 50's, and the lowest at 60's.

This study analyzes articles reported on university newspapers and figures out what roles they played in those days and how they have changed up to now. For this, it selected newspapers issued at P university for the last 60 years and examined and analyzed every article related to university libraries in them. As a result, it is found that the contents of the articles have been changed dramatically as time goes by. The study result is expected to be used as foundational data for the operation of university libraries or their long-term development projects as we reflect ourselves rationally and face reality and establish desirable future-oriented library features.

This study was carried out to investigate effects of sowing dates and method on major agronomic characteristics of Dendropanax morbifera $L_{EV}$. in southern area of Korea. The number of days from sowing to emergence was recognized liner negative correlation between sowing days. Dendropanax morbifera was sowed at seven different dates(from Dec.20 to Feb.20 at 30 days interval, from Mar, 1 to Apr. 15 at 15 days interval) in pot culture. In sowing date at Mar. 15, germination rate and early growth were good in pot. Dendropanax morbifera was sowed at five different dates(from Dec.20 to Apr.15 at 15 days interval) in field culture. In sowing date at Apr.15, germination rate and early growth were good in field culture.

인터넷이 그 규모 및 정보의 내용에서의 대형화를 지향하면서 분산환경에서 사용자들의 정보에 대한 요구가 날로 증가하고 있고, 이를 만족시킬 수 있는 저 단계로 정보 수집이라는 것이 새로운 문제로 떠오르고 있다. 이에 에이전트를 기반으로 구성된 분산 디지털 도서관상에서 웨 정보 서비스를 제공하기 위한 로봇 에이전트를 설계.구현하였다. 구현된 로봇은 JAVA와 RMI를 기반으로 에이전트화를 통해 분산환경 구조를 갖추고 있으며, 멀티 쓰레드와 로봇 제어 알고리즘을 통해 정보의 수집 및 관리에 있어서 로봇의 신뢰도를 향상 시켰고 DBMS와 에이전트의 연계를 통한 대용량 처리 기능과 관리자의 관리의 편리성을 도모하기 위해 자동화 기능을 갖추었으며, 로봇과 관련되어 발생할 수 있는 부하를 최소화 할 수 있도록 하였다.

Characteristics of Japanese public library recently has been changed to mutual networking between libraries, complex use of data, and long stay of users. Such change requires new service and contents. Also, in Korea, it is circumstance that interest of library's contents rise politically. And under government leading by BTL project, various libraries are increasing all over the country fast such as public library, extension of existing school library and the small library, etc. In this research, space composition of library, automatic check-out & bookshelf system, and mutual networking between libraries was analyzed by selected 3 libraries (central library of Chiba city, Tomisato and Ichigawa city library) of Chiba area and find applicable contents to our library system.

For finding out the proper method of developing Buxus koreana var. insularis, this study was carried out in Pokil-Do, Wan-Do, Chonnam, in 1975. The ecology, morphology and characteristics of the plant were mainly investigated and analyzed. The results are summarized as follows; 1. The small islands of the southern sea of Korea; Pokil-Do, Chin-Do and So-Huk-San-Do, turn out to be the site of the natural communities of B. koreana var. insularis. 2. The growth of the plant is fairly good in the acid soil of these islands. 3. This vegetation of composed as the three-layered communities, these communities consit of Camellia, Buxus and Cares. 4. The plant is a board leaved evergreen shrub that is tolerant to shade and native to the temperate zone. 5. The size of the leaves, fruits and seeds is slightly larger than those of B. koreans. 6. As fruiting and germination of the seeds are favorable. it is easy for us to make a number of seedlings. 7. The proper times for sowing and harvesting the seeds are around the middle of July and August, respectively. 8. The seedlings is difficult to grow in the naked ground because the germinated seeds are seriously damaged by frost. 9. The plant growth per annum is about 8 to 10cm in height, 1.5mm in diameter. It is graceful looking as the branches and leaves as of the dense foliage type 10. It is possible to develop the plant in many ways, such as; ornamental plant, bee plant, sculptural and industrial materials.
