This paper describes some of the challenges for structural design of a mid-story seismic isolated high-rise building, which is located near Tokyo station, completed in 2015. The building is a mixed-use complex and encompasses three volumes: one substructure including basement and lower floors, and a pair of seismic isolated superstructures on the substructure. One is a 136.5m high Main Tower (office use), and the other is a 98.5 m high South Tower (hotel use). The seismic isolation systems are arranged in the $3^{rd}$ floor of the Main Tower and $5^{th}$ floor of the South Tower, so that we call this isolation system as the mid-story seismic isolation. The primary goal of the structural design of this building was to secure high seismic safety against the largest earthquake expected in Tokyo. We adopted optimal seismic isolation equipment simulated by dynamic analysis to minimize building damage. On the other hand, wind-induced vibration of a seismic isolated high-rise building tends to be excited. To reduce the vibration, the following strategies were adopted respectively. In the Main Tower with a large wind receiving area, we adopted a mechanism that locks oil dampers at the isolation level during strong wind. In the South Tower, two tuned mass dampers (TMDs) are installed at the top of the building to control the vibration. In addition, our paper will also report the building performance evaluated for wind and seismic observation after completion of the building. In 2016, an earthquake of seismic intensity 3 (JMA scale) occurred twice in Tokyo. The acceleration reduction rate of the seismic isolation level due to these earthquakes was approximately 30 to 60%. These are also verified by dynamic analysis using observed acceleration data. Also, in April 2016, a strong wind exceeding the speed of 25m/s occurred in Tokyo. On the basis of the record at the strong wind, we confirmed that the locking mechanism of oil damper worked as designed.

The purpose of this study is to derive education programs for safety training class, create unit spaces and present components and methods of utilizing the spaces for the development of facilities models closely related to various policy, operation plan and facility construction projects promoted by related institutions such as the Ministry of Education, schools, architects and companies. This study is divided into five steps. First, we reviewed the literature related basic directions for safety education and facility plan, second, field survey included both field conditions such as spatial size and facility configuration and analysis of operating conditions like hours of operation and personnel. Base on literature review and field survey, it were used to analyze strengths and weaknesses of existing safety training classes, and five facility models was developed based on the Delphi method and expert participatory design. The result show that the facility models (drafts) of safety training class were developed as follows: (1)the facility model for traffic safety(pedestrian safety, vehicle safety, subway safety) (2)the facility model for first aid(emergency rescue, how to report) (3)the facility model for disaster safety(fire evacuation safety, life earthquake safety) (4)the facility model for elevator safety(elevator safety, escalator safety) (5)the facility model for drugs and violence safety (smoking drinking, sexual harassment safety, food safety) The safety training class can be composed by combining or separating each module according to affordable space size of each school.
The uses of land were relatively simple in the old days, but they are being expanded rapidly to the aboveground and underground due to the urban concentration, the large-scale urban development and so on in these days. Accordingly, the concept of the rights to lands grows from 2D to 3D, and many studies about the 3D cadastral information have been performed in recent years. Several studies were performed about the construction and the visualization of the 3D cadastral information, but most of them focused on the 3D visualization of the buildings and facilities. However, it is more desirable to visualize the individual objects of the rights to lands while considering 'the information on the rights' as well as the 'physical information'. Therefore it is supposed to construct and use the 3D cadastral information based on the individual objects of the rights in this paper. The level of the cadastral information will be upgraded by making and describing more detailed 3D cadastral information through this paper. And also the applicability of the 3D cadastral information will be improved when it is used with the real estate information, the demographic information and many others.
The purpose of this study is to compare the thermal insulation performance of windows according to the formation of air layer and to evaluate its energy efficiency on a selected standard house. A thermal insulation test, KS F 2278 was used to measure U-values (Heat transmission coefficients) for the following three cases: the first case (Case 1) is a Low-E pair glass (Argon injected), the second case (Case 2) is a Low-E pair glass with the air cap attached on the glass surface, and the third case (Case 3) is a Low-E pair glass, on the frame of which the air cap is attached. The evaluation of the energy efficiency was conducted according to a building energy calculation method from ISO 13790, calculation of energy use for space heating and cooling, using the U-values obtained from the thermal insulation tests. As results of the tests, the U-values of Case 1, Case 2, and Case 3 were $1.668W/m^2{\cdot}K$, $1.568W/m^2{\cdot}K$, and $1.319W/m^2{\cdot}K$ respectively. The Case 2 had about 5.9% lower value than the Case 1, and the Case 3 had about 20.9% lower value than the Case 1. It seems that the thermal performance of the windows is attributed to an increase of the heat resistance and the thickness of air layer. An evaluation of the energy efficiency of the three cases on the selected standard house showed that the amount of heating energy demand per unit area was $7.776kWh/m^2{\cdot}yr$ for the Case $1,6.856kWh/m^2{\cdot}yr$ for the Case 2, and $4.856kWh/m^2{\cdot}yr$ for the Case 3. This study suggests that the formation of air layer (by using air cap) and its thickness should reduce the heat energy demand and thus improve the energy saving efficiency
This paper examines characteristics of time series data related to the construction investment(stationarity and time series components such as secular trend, cyclical fluctuation, seasonal variation, and random change) and surveys predictibility, fitness, and explicability of independent variables of various models to build a short-term construction investment forecasting model suitable for current economic circumstances. Unit root test, autocorrelation coefficient and spectral density function analysis show that related time series data do not have unit roots, fluctuate cyclically, and are largely explicated by lagged variables. Moreover it is very important for the short-term construction investment forecasting to grasp time lag relation between construction investment series and leading indicators such as building construction permits and value of construction orders received. In chapter 3, we explicate 7 forecasting models; Univariate time series model (ARIMA and multiplicative linear trend model), multivariate time series model using leading indicators (1st order autoregressive model, vector autoregressive model and error correction model) and multivariate time series model using National Accounts data (simple reduced form model disconnected from simultaneous macroeconomic model and VAR model). These models are examined by 4 statistical tools that are average absolute error, root mean square error, adjusted coefficient of determination, and Durbin-Watson statistic. This analysis proves two facts. First, multivariate models are more suitable than univariate models in the point that forecasting error of multivariate models tend to decrease in contrast to the case of latter. Second, VAR model is superior than any other multivariate models; average absolute prediction error and root mean square error of VAR model are quitely low and adjusted coefficient of determination is higher. This conclusion is reasonable when we consider current construction investment has sustained overheating growth more than secular trend.
Thermal performance of wooden houses used by building materials effectively contributing to building energy saving has been improved. However, the performance was decreased to the condensation and mould growth from exterior wall because the moisture control was difficult to high insulation and airtightness. Therefore, the hygrothermal performance of exterior wall, that selected 5 types of wooden houses, evaluated using the hygrothermal simulation program: heat and moisture behavior, condensation and mould growth risk. Wooden houses were selected Rural houses standard plans '10 and '14, $2^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\times}6^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ type, EIFS and wood-based passive house. And the wall A, B, C, D and E were determined by layer component of each wall. The U-value of exterior wall are 0.171, 0.172, 0.221, 0.150, $0.079W/m^2K$. The OSB absolute water content of the wall A and C was exceeds the reference value of 20%, and it was confirmed that condensation occur at insulation material inner surface through the condensation evaluation in the winter. The wall D and E showed excellent results with condensation and water content evaluation compared to others. However, mould growth risk assessment in all five types of wall had have risk. We were determined that hygrothermal performance difference of exterior wall occur the difference in the layer structure rather than in thermal performance.

According to an apartment house environment and the service provide method of major telecom operators, is providing optic-LAN service with installing the equipments of optical office center and optic distribution at MDF(Main Distribution Frame) and under-ground of apartment. therefore the distribute is deepening between service providers because of space securement to install equipments and spare pipe securement to reinstall UTP cable. These were reasons that operators leaned to subscriber collection and neglected to maintenance, in addition, insist the facilities invested by each operators is his own assets for all that in-plant of apartment house is private land. So, would not being touched by others. Accordingly, this study will search it through the field current condition examine that service's types and methods which various telecom operators and broadcast operators are providing, the current conditions of being maintained, the problems of being happened. etc. and would like to improve that the users could use the services safely by making the information & communication facilities maintenance mandatory under the regular size of apartment house circumstances through the analysis of various laws relations which are managed information & communication construction work law, telecommunication basis law, home network. etc. technical standards by the Ministry of Information and Communication and are managed housing law, construction law, the regulation related to house construct standards. etc. by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
Recently, since industrial waste and life waste leaped into a pollution source, the building material used now a days is striking the limit. The purpose of this paper is to investigate an application of recycled coal ash using non-sintering method in the construction field. Accordingly, compressive strength, elastic modulus and drying shrinkage were experimentally studied for hardened coal ash using the non-sintering method. Also, Lineweaver and Burk method were applied to the regression analysis of drying shrinkage for the proposal equation. Elastic modulus, compressive strength of material become the basis properties of structural design. And these properties by age for hardened coal ash are important because of change by pozzolan reaction. This hardened coal ash is weak for tensile stress like that of concrete. And drying shrinkage is very important factor to make huge tensile force in early age. In the results, although some differences were shown when comparing coal ash with mortar or concrete, the application as a building material turned out to be possible if further researches were carried out. And the shrinkage characteristic of hardened coal-ash reveals to be similar to that of moderate heat cement.
With the development of digital technologies, CAID became an essential part in the industrial design process. Creating photo-realistic images from a virtual scene with 3D models is one of the specialized task for CAID users. This task requires a complex interface of setting the positions and the parameters of camera and lights for optimal rendering results. However, the user interface of existing CAID tools are not simple for designers because the task is mostly accomplished in a parameter setting dialogue window. This research address this interface issues, in particular the issues related to lighting, by developing and evaluating TLS(Tangible Lighting Studio) that uses Augmented Reality and Tangible User Interface. The interface of positioning objects and setting parameters become tangible and distributed in the workspace to support more intuitive rendering task. TLS consists of markers, and physical controller, and a see-through HMD(Head Mounted Display). The user can directly control the lighting parameters in the AR workspace. In the evaluation experiment, TLS provide higher effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction compared to existing GUI(Graphic User Interface) method. It is expected that the application of TLS can be expanded to photography education and architecture simulation.
There are many types of remodeling, however, engineers and architectures preferred to merge two or more separate units to one very spacious unit. Performing this type of remodeling, in the case of wall dominant apartments, requires partial removal of structural wall causing a concern of structural integrity. However, there are insufficient studies about partial removal, that is, openings. Presently, ACI standard have no clear way to evaluate the effect of opening on the structural wall. AIJ has the provision about strength reduction factor '$\gamma$'. However, this reduction factor cannot exactly evaluate the reduction effect of openings because this factor '$\gamma$' was determined through the elastic analysis. Therefore, in this study, 2 structural wall specimens were tested and many test results from previous studies were collected. Using these data, this study performed statistical analysis about strength of structural wall which have the opening in wall panel. And this study performed parametric study verifying shear strength reducing effect by opening area. In the results of statistical study, previous reduction factor show very conservative results because this equation did not consider other factors, reinforcement ratio and aspect ratio of openings, which was affect the shear strength of shear walls. Therefore we performed parametric study based on the test data and suggest new equation for shear strength reduction factor '$\gamma$'.
