Didier Éribon's dialogue with Ernst Gombrich, first published in 1991 in France, stands as a curious example of interpreting a scientific mind into a popular narrative. On the occasion of its brand new translation in Korean, this essay examines the encounter of two different languages, that of scholarly art history and the other, of "entretien". Éribon's previous interviews with Georges Dumézil and Claude Lévi-Strauss have already shown the perfect use of dialogue that interprets in simple words some currents of European thoughts of 20th century at its highest level. The double identity found in the extraordinary profile of the author of The Story of Art should help us deal with this particular form of dialogue in depth, and expect another possibility of explaining and reconstructing academia.

The purpose of this study is to revitalize rehabilitation treatment for people with physical disabilities by presenting a convergence plan between e-sports and rehabilitation exercises using AI-based metaverse. Metaverse-based e-sportscan be useful in providing sports experiences to people with physical disabilities who are unable to participate in society, and this also allows individuals with disabilities to experience sports that are difficult to actually experience. The use of metaverse will enable effective rehabilitation exercise links in vulnerable communities such as hospitals and farming and fishing villages, and provide integrated services of medical and rehabilitation movements that allow exercise data to be managed in an integrated manner. To this end, interdisciplinary experts should participate in the convergence development of e-sports and rehabilitation exercise.

The purpose of this study was to analyze how the Library and Information Science (LIS) related research efforts in Korea contributed to the progress of the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) discipline to identify the potential collaboration research partners and topics. The following data was used for the network and frequency analysis: titles, keywords and affiliation information extracted from the Korean journals serving the LIS fields as well as the conference proceedings of the Korean HCI society. Information communication technology, computer engineering, and technology industry had been active in research collaborations but LIS field was comparatively not active. This study was able to determine that LIS researchers carried out important research but they had not much interests in the topics that required interdisciplinary collaboration. However, there were a number of papers, which were not authored by LIS discipline researchers, in the LIS related journals. In addition, there are a few ongoing interdisciplinary research projects which included LIS researchers. This reveals that it is possible for the LIS field could play an important role in the future if the researchers actively participate the collaborative projects.

Background: This study evaluated the learning outcomes of dental hygiene students' ethical consciousness and ethical decision-making competence through dental ethics courses conducted in some universities. Methods: The subjects were 35 and 29 fourth-year dental hygiene students at G University in the first semester of 2021 and 2022, respectively, and 53 and 43 third-year dental hygiene students at D University, respectively, for a total of 160 students. After implementing the dental hygiene ethics course, classroom performance was evaluated in terms of moral sensitivity, confidence in making ethical decisions, classroom practicality, learning outcomes, and class satisfaction. Statistical analysis was conducted using independent t-test and paired t-test, and the statistical significance level was 0.05. Results: Both universities reported an increase in moral sensitivity and confidence in ethical decision-making after the course (p<0.001). Classroom practicality and class satisfaction for the dental hygiene ethics course did not differ between disciplines and were rated positively with a score of 4 or higher (p>0.05). Learning outcomes were higher among 4-year students than 3-year students (p<0.001). Conclusions: It was evaluated that the ethics in dental hygiene curriculum can strengthen students' competence in ethical decision-making, including moral sensitivity and confidence in solving ethical problems in dental hygiene.

In Korea, rural groundwater development faces new challenge, which have not been experienced so far. The problem is a groundwater depletion by the water curtain cultivation (WCC) during winter season. This study investigates the groundwater depletion using three-dimensional finite difference groundwater flow program, MODFLOW to verify the water budget of the shallow aquifer of Cheongweon area. Interdisciplinary research, which has become a worldwide trend, has been adopted in studying groundwater modeling in field scale. In particular, the method of groundwater recharge estimation adopted precise modeling techniques, SWAT to groundwater flow modeling. Based on qualified field data, the model calibrated and validated its reliability. The objective of this study is to simulate various stream-aquifer interactions according to groundwater pumping with artificial boundaries, such as weirs and drainage system. We also analyzed a seasonal variation of cumulative water budget of the site to quantify the groundwater depletion and recovery in the pumping field.

This study examined the effects of the experience activities for kitchen garden cultivation on children's inquiry skills and dietary attitudes. To achieve this, an experiment was conducted on a total of 43 kindergarten children in a class of 4- and 5-year-olds, who were classified into an experimental group of 35 children (20 male children, 15 female children) and control group of 20 children (8 male children, 12 female children), in Daejeon Metropolitan City. This study showed that children's experience of kitchen garden cultivation helps improve their inquiry skills and dietary attitudes. The results proved their experience activities for kitchen garden cultivation to be useful for improving their inquiry skills and dietary attitudes. Consequently, their experience activities and inquiry learning of participant observation using a natural subject like kitchen garden cultivation can be encouraged to improve the awareness, which can improve their dietary attitudes as the responsibility of their family, and their distorted dietary habits and attitudes. In other words, these results highlight the interdisciplinary and educational usefulness in that their inquiry learning can expect a high educational effect.

This research was designed to verify the causal relationships between organization managers' unmet expectations and job burnout and the mediating effects of overcommitment based on the effort-rewards imbalance theory. It was also intended to evaluate the moderating effect of LMXSC on the relationship between overcommitment and job burnout. 172 branch managers working at commercial bank were selected as the target research group. This study was validated by The SPSS 24.0, the reliability was justified through the factor analysis, and the casual relationship was confirmed through the three-step regression. As a result, unmet expectations had a strong positive correlation with job burnout and overcommitment. Overcommitment had a strong positive correlation with the mediating effect between unmet expectations and job burnout. Moderating effects of LMXSC were not significant. This study showed the practical implication between unmet expectations, overcommitment, and job burnout. Additionally it exhibited the job design and management practice in manager groups where the importance of their role has been expanded. Lastly, we found the interdisciplinary implication from making an effort to elaborate the antecedent of variables.

The technological convergence of IT, BT and NT is expected to drive technological revolution in the twenty first century, so a large amount of R&D expenditure is being concentrated on the development of fusion technology worldwide. Researches on how to direct and manage fusion technology development, however, are rare up to the present. This study investigates technology development and S&T human resources practices in the fusion technology are a focusing on the career path movement of researchers. On the basis of case study and a field survey of 209 scientists and engineers from academia, research institutes and industry, four strategic directions are recommended for improving human resources development in convergence technologies. The limitations and contributions of the study are also discussed.

The separation of gallium and indium from the matrix elements such as zinc and other ions, especially form Fe(III) ion was studied for the determination of trace level of them in zinc ores and zinc blendes by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES). Gallium and indium were extracted from the sample solution with a solvent of tributyl phosphate(TBP). The type and concentration of acid, interferences of other ions, the ratio of aqueous phase to organic phase, TBP concentration, sripping efficiency were optimized for the effective extraction. Gallium and indium were separated from other ions in the 5N hydrochloric acid solution of the samples by the extraction with 100% TBP. In this time, Fe(III) was reduced to Fe(II) with hydroxylamine hydrochloride to prevent its coextraction prior to the main extraxtion. After stripped from organic phase by the back-extraction with 0.02N HCl, they were determined in the aqueous phase by ICP-AES. This method was known to be quantitative from the overall extraction of more than 95%.

This study was to find out the influence of smoking behavior in Korean adults on chronic diseases using data from the seventh Korea national health and nutrition examination survey(KNHANES VII-2) 2017. The subjects were 6,193. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, x² test and logistic regression analysis using SPSS 25 complex samples Win program. The main findings were that smoking age and smoking behavior were considered as early as the age of smoking, and in case of smoking in the past, the prevalence of chronic disease increased 1.30 times and 2.75 times, respectively. When the subjects' health behaviors and demographic characteristics were simultaneously corrected, the higher the age was, the more they were 0.25 times higher and 0.34 times higher than the graduate level of education. As a result, it is necessary to improve lifestyles such as obesity and lack of exercise, to reduce the prevalence of chronic disease in Korean adults, and to pay attention to younger age groups. There is a need to develop interdisciplinary convergent approaches with great interest.
