The Interface Design and Development of Learning Management System and Contents for Self-Directed Learning based on Interaction and Usability (상호작용성과 사용편이성에 기초한 자기주도 학습운영시스템과 학습컨텐츠의 인터페이스 설계 및 구현)

  • The Purpose of this study is to embody self-directed learning management system and contents which are considered of learner's interactivity and usability in e-learning environment; It is based on self directed teaching and learning strategies. It divides type of interaction centering on the learners into four categories: (1) learner and instructor (2) learner and learner (3) learner and contents (4) learner and learning management system. The specific elements of learning management system is set up and embodied to present the interaction strategies according to the above-mentioned patterns, to improve the self-directed learning ability and to facilitate an online communication. The learning contents based on the self directed learning strategies, design the interface in due consideration of the learners' usability based on six strategies such as simple navigation, consistency, intuitive interface, linkage, user supports and immediate feedback. This research makes up for the weak points in the self-directed functions of learning management system and links up with learning contents, therefore it has a value to improve learner's interactivity and usability. It is expected that the research results can be helpful in quality improvement of e-learning environment.

Analysis of Characteristics of Clusters of Middle School Students Using K-Means Cluster Analysis (K-평균 군집분석을 활용한 중학생의 군집화 및 특성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of applying big data analysis to provide appropriate feedback to students using evaluation data in science education at a time when interest in educational data mining has recently increased in education. In this study, we use the evaluation data of 2,576 students who took 24 questions of the national assessment of educational achievement. And we use K-means cluster analysis as a method of unsupervised machine learning for clustering. As a result of clustering, students were divided into six clusters. The middle-ranking students are divided into various clusters when compared to upper or lower ranks. According to the results of the cluster analysis, the most important factor influencing clusterization is academic achievement, and each cluster shows different characteristics in terms of content domains, subject competencies, and affective characteristics. Learning motivation is important among the affective domains in the lower-ranking achievement cluster, and scientific inquiry and problem-solving competency, as well as scientific communication competency have a major influence in terms of subject competencies. In the content domain, achievement of motion and energy and matter are important factors to distinguish the characteristics of the cluster. As a result, we can provide students with customized feedback for learning based on the characteristics of each cluster. We discuss implications of these results for science education, such as the possibility of using this study results, balanced learning by content domains, enhancement of subject competency, and improvement of scientific attitude.

Design and Implementation of Effectively Interactive Data Structure Web Courseware (효과적으로 상호작용하는 자료구조 웹 코스웨어의 설계 및 구현)

  • The prior data structure coursewares have been limited to using a simple screen structure with text, pictures or plain animation so that they have been failed to promote favorable interaction between learners and instructors, and unnecessarily charges the screen. In order to overcome these problems, this paper provides an applet-based simulation environment which enables learner to operate and control the data structure operation with their own data, therefore, the learners can actively and positively participate in a study with this courseware. The instructors can easily deliver the education contents to the learners by using web simulation suitable for IT education media. Also, the courseware can offer a class feedback and required data for students estimation by recording a log.

  • This study is part of app development research based on user centered design which targets silver generation learners. The mathematical contents provided by Senior math application focus on Numeracy issues. In order to finalize the user interface and the mathematical contents which is for developing the mathematic application, teaching experiment was carried out through 9 senior learners. Also CIPP program evaluation model was used for monitoring the result of this teaching experiment. Factors such as 'educational objectives' 'requirement analysis' 'educational environment' 'curriculum' 'learning content' 'learning matter' 'interaction' 'program administration' 'supporting environment' 'satisfaction' 'study result' 'substantiality of learning' were checked and as a result the Senior Mathematic application was developed through these feedbacks.

  • The coursewares available on the web are on active development by each country all over the world in accordance with web prevailing. Many Visual Basic language courseware is also into web-based education it is not improving the effect of learning. Hence through this study, in orer to be out of the said kind of approach, 1)by adding multimedia elements with making the best of web characteristics, 2)escalating the studying effect of learners' with experimental environment, and 3)providing proper feedbacks in assessment of learners' reactions 4)we invented web-based multimedia courseware with the technology of Real Encoder, Real Player, Active X etc. and tried adapting it to school education field on the basis of design model of professor-learning system.

  • The cloud computing environment is a new trend of web based application parts. It can be IT business model that is able to easily support learning service and allocate resources through the internet to users. U-learning also is a maximal model with efficiency of the internet based learning. Thus, in this research, we proposed a design of u-learning's teaching and learning model that is applying the internet based learning. Proposal method is to fit u-learning and has 7 steps: Preparing, planning, gathering, learning process, analysis and evaluation, and feedback. We make a cloud u-learning server and cloud LMS to process and manage the service. And We also make a mobile devices meta data to aware the model.

  • 현대사회가 정보화 되어감에 따라 교육분야에서 컴퓨터의 가치는 더욱 높아지고 있으며, 이러한 요구에 발맞추어 컴퓨터를 이용한 교육 기술과 구현 기술은 저작도구를 중심으로 발견하고 있다. 또한 기술공학의 발전으로 교육기회의 확대와 교육방식에 대한 새로운 패러다임을 제시되고 있으며 새로운 형태의 학습을 가능케 하고 있다. 이러한 수세에 따라 상호 작용성이 보다 강화된 원격통신 기술에 기초한 새로운 WBI의 형태가 나타나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 WBI의 기능을 통해 일률적인 WBI(Web Based Instruction)의 컨텐츠 속에서 자신의 수준에 적절하지 않는 수업을 받았던 학습자에게 수준별 학습을 통해 교수과정과 학습과정에 최대한 도움을 주고 학습자의 학습능력을 극대화시키는 효과를 기대한다. 재사용 가능한 컴포넌트와 라이브러리를 통해 쉽고 빠른 웹 개발지원이 가능한 JSP를 사용하여 운영체제에 독립적인 설계를 하며, 이를 통해 개발자의 편의를 극대화 할 수 있다. 또한 교사와 학생의 빠른 상호 작용성을 기대하며, 교수지원 학습평가(LE Loarning Evaluation) 컴포넌트를 통해 수업의 패러다임이나 교수방법을 수정해야 함을 교수에게 가시적으로 제시한다. WBI 도메인에서 교수지원을 위한 부분의 피드백과 재사용의 가능성을 제공함으로써 개발과 비용 면에서의 높은 효율성을 보장하고, WBI 수업모형의 표준화를 기대한다. 이를 통해 교수가 가지는 교수목표를 달성하는 데에 효과적인 방법을 제시한다.

  • 본 논문은 사전 데이터를 바탕으로 한글 뜻풀이를 하여 한글 단어를 맞추는 앱 어플리케이션 '한글아 놀자'의 설계에 대하여 서술한다. '한글아 놀자'는 게임을 통하여 사용자가 쉽게 한글 단어를 학습 할 수 있도록 만들어진 앱 어플리케이션으로 기존의 유아를 대상으로 하는 유사한 어플리케이션들과 달리 특정 층을 대상으로 잡지 않아, 일반인도 흥미를 가지고 학습 할 수 있고 따라서 다양한 사용자 층을 확보 하여 한글 학습의 접근성을 향상 시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 어플리케이션의 중요한 특징 중 하나로 게임을 진행 하며 잘 몰랐던 단어들은 오답 노트를 통하여 피드백을 해주고, 사용자의 선택에 따라 자신의 단어장에 추가하여 언제든지 복습해 볼 수 있도록 하여 지속적인 학습이 가능하도록 하였다. 그 외에도 '한글아 놀자'는 사전 데이터를 가지고 동작하기 때문에 일상생활에서 잘 쓰이지 않는 단어, 옛말, 사자성어등도 학습이 가능하도록 하여 한글의 활용성을 높이고 사용자가 접하는 단어의 다양성을 높이는데 주력하였다.

  • WBI(Web Based Instruction) has been confined to some course due to a burden of development of instruction materials. In this paper, we implemented a personalized instruction and learning system for Word Processor based on Internet by using WBI. Compared to the traditional instruction and learning method for Word Processor Education, the proposed method induce students to take an interest in the learning and make it possible to do student oriented instruction and learning due to the selection of specific contents according to student's ability and his/her learning step. And this system can evaluate the learning rate on the spot by using personalized homework and maximize learning effect by using feedback.

This research result could take charge role of UMPCs' studying-activity though there is persistent feedback with teacher among studying-activity although UMPC's role is utilized on constituent that can be related with studying-activity in learning process.
