The Design of DEI Controls using Neural Network (인공신경망을 이용한 EDI 통제방안 설계)

  • Many organizational contexts should be considered in designing EDI controls to make control systems effective and efficient. This paper gives a description of the neural network model for suggesting the extent of effective EDI controls for a company that has specific organizational environment. Feedforward backpropagation neural network models are designed to predict the state of 12 modes of EDI controls from the sate of environment. The predictive power of the system is compared with that of multivariate regression analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of using neural network model in predicting the level of EDI controls. The results show that the neural network model outperforms regression analysis in predictive accuracy. The controls that have high estimated value in the model are likely to be critical controls and EDI auditor or management can enhance investment of IS resources to enhance these controls.

  • Accurate classification of input signals is the key prerequisite for variable bit-rate coding, which has been introduced in order to effectively utilize limited communication bandwidth. Especially, recent surge of multimedia services elevate the importance of speech/music classification. Among many speech/music classifier, the ones based on support vector machine (SVM) have a strong selling point, high classification accuracy, but their computational complexity and memory requirement hinder their way into actual implementations. Therefore, techniques that reduce the computational complexity and the memory requirement is inevitable, particularly for embedded systems. We first analyze implementation of an SVM-based classifier on embedded systems in terms of execution time and energy consumption, and then propose two techniques that alleviate the implementation requirements: One is a technique that removes support vectors that have insignificant contribution to the final classification, and the other is to skip processing some of input signals by virtue of strong correlations in speech/music frames. These are post-processing techniques that can work with any other optimization techniques applied during the training phase of SVM. With experiments, we validate the proposed algorithms from the perspectives of classification accuracy, execution time, and energy consumption.

  • This study explores the effectiveness and applications of event collection programs, which are integrated programs with event experience and collection experience as a cooperation model that combines school education and library resources as course-related materials. For the purpose, a triangulated analysis with both quantitative and qualitative data was conducted. As a result, This study examined an event collection program's effectiveness which were positive effects on the participated students' reading and perceptions on the roles of their school libraries. The event collection supported the students to self-construct their knowledge by exploring information with the provision of a collection with various materials on a topic, which would be hardly provided within the traditional library subject classification, and that the event collection program could be a useful tool for self-directed reading due to its promotion of interaction, sharing, and participation among materials and the participated students by functional factors of experiential marketing.

A Study on Text Mining Analysis of Presidential Maritime Concept in KOREA (텍스트마이닝을 이용한 한국 대통령의 해양관에 관한 연구)

  • In the presidential political system, the word of the president has great influence on the formation of national policy and the decision-making process. Policy priorities are determined according to the president's ideology and core values, and various policies are established and executed according to the priorities. Therefore, this paper analyzes the contents of the president's speech. Since the president's speech is a semantic datum, in order to analyze unstructured text, big data analysis is conducted through the methods of machine learning and deep learning. In this study, the president's speech at the "National Sea Day" commemoration was obtained 1996 onwards and analyzed using topic modeling. As a result of the analysis, all the presidents' speeches were delivered with a view of the ocean that was consistent with the direction of their administration. It was confirmed that the ocean-industry-resource topics, which are the intrinsic values of the ocean, were not damaged and consistently emphasized by all presidents.

Analysis of Objects, Contents and Formative Evaluation for Computer Textbooks for Elementary School Grades in Korea (초등학교 저학년 컴퓨터 교과서 목표.내용 및 평가의 분석)

  • This study attempts to analyze fifteen computer textbooks for the first and second grades. The textbooks were analyzed by the following characteristics: goals, contents, and formative evaluation. Evaluation criteria from previous works were selected for advantages and identify the problems. In addition, advice for teachers using these books is proposed. The results of the analyses of current computer textbooks are the following: Firstly, in the area of goals and contents, most textbooks clearly define learning goals for each unit. Secondly, in the area of content, some textbooks have a large volume for first and second grade students, and they do not provide enough integration with other subjects. Finally, they do not provide formative evaluation to achieve for goals.

Development and Application of Classroom Homepage Using Wiki (지식공유기법을 활용한 학급 홈페이지의 개발 및 적용)

  • Students should be able to find information and resources using the Internet. Also students need to have composite intellectual abilities to select information, convert to knowledge and communicate it to other people. However, most school and classroom homepages provide students with information but not contents that help them produce knowledge. This lowers the rate of connection to homepage. Thus, the purpose of this study is to develop and apply homepage, which helps students make knowledge from comprehended and interpreted information(Knowledge.Sharing Technique; KST). In this study we use 'WIKI KST' and 'Q&A KST' to share knowledge. WIKI KST is 'an encyclopedia that we make,' which means that students upload their prior knowledge or knowledge produced from comprehended and interpreted information and create new knowledge to be added to their own knowledge and others'. As a result, the abilities to comprehend and interpret acquired information are improved and the ability to change implicit knowledge to explicit knowledge is also improved. Students create new knowledge to share their knowledge and, as a result, the rate to connection to homepage gets higher.

  • Teachers should actively maintain and improve their ICT competency in today's ever changing information society. A standardized system should now be developed to assist educators when choosing courses to improve their ICT competency. Previous ICT competency studies have only measured one's current ICT abilities rather than analyzing the skills necessary for educators to be successful in the educational system. This study developed an assessment tool to measure the ICT competency levels of CEOs who have the potential to be the decision makers in ICT education. In order to accomplish this, the jobs, duties, and tasks of educational CEOs were analyzed against the ICT Skills Standards for Teachers to determine which ICT skills are required by educational CEOs. Sixty-three questions were extracted from this analysis, guiding educational CEOs in the determination of their own ICT skills level.

  • Concurrent processes come into conflict with each other when they are competing for the use of the same resources. In the case of competing processes three control problems must be faced: mutual exclusion, deadlock, and starvation. The concurrency is a subject rather difficult to understand. In addition, because concurrent programs included in most of OS texts are described by pseudocode and are not being able to execute directly, almost learners are difficult to understand behaviour of concurrent programs. The purpose of this study is to propose instruction method for mutual exclusion using SDL and MSC base on graphic. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed materials, we compare with materials based on pseudocode. The results indicated that the proposed materials is more effective than materials based on pseudocode in teaching-learning for mutual exclusion mechanisms.

A Study on improving the Functions of Authoring Tool for Educational Contents (교육용 콘텐츠 저작을 위한 개발 툴 기능 개선 연구)

  • With the development of information and communications technologies, there have been increasing cases of services and use free educational materials in educational field through the Web. However, as most of the materials are provided in a finished form via the Web services, teachers are in a situation where they have difficulty in using the materials through development or revision according to their educational goals. In this background, this study aimed to develop requirements and functions necessary for the educational contents development tools by having teachers as actual users develop contents using existing tools of the educational contents development. As a result, this study developed 10 requirements, including intuitive interface environment, support for various multimedia materials, and diversification of output versions etc. Also, the study suggested 13 functions, including links with external resources, automatic format conversion function, usage and editing of existing documents, writing learner's answers, and hiding function etc.

  • The conditions of university education are also changing as society changes. In particular, the rapid decline in the school-age population heralds a change in the environment of university education. In this study, we would like to draw up educational issues that arise with changes in the educational environment, and propose the university's efforts to resolve them. For example, the challenges of change include expanding the scope of admission resources, providing substantial education, producing competent talent, and administrative and financial bases for implementing educational tasks. Based on this, it is necessary to understand the change in educational paradigm for all members to have a solid education, starting with opening university doors to adult learners. In addition, efforts to change need to be made in consideration of various categories and factors in order to strengthen the educational power of universities in relation to the administrative and financial foundations for implementing them.
