2011년도 한국천문올림피아드(KAO) 참가자 성향 분석

  • 한국천문올림피아드(KAO)는 경시대회에 의한 입시 과열 및 사교육 조장 논란으로 촉발된 정부 정책의 변화로 2010년 1차 선발 방식을 지필고사에서 서류전형으로 바꾸는 등 대대적인 개편을 겪었다. 그 결과로 지원자 수의 급감 등 양적 변화 외에 지원자의 성향에 있어서도 상당한 변화가 예상되고 있다. 이에 따라 2011년도 KAO 2차 선발 심층면접 참가 학생 96명을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사를 토대로 KAO 참가 동기, 참가준비방법, 타 올림피아드 중복 참가 여부, 그리고 천문올림피아드 자체교육(온라인 강좌, 인터넷과제, 주말교육) 및 서류심사, 심층면접에 대한 평가 의견을 전체 및 소속 학교별, 성별, 지역별로 분류하여 분석하였다. 또한 위의 결과를 2010년도에 시범적으로 실시한 설문조사 결과와 비교 분석하여 시간적 변화 추이에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 이로부터 도출된 결론을 바탕으로 단기적 관점에서 KAO의 선발 방식 및 선발학생의 교육을 어떤 방식으로 개선해나가야 할지, 그리고 장기적 관점에서 천문학에 관심 있는 과학영재를 어떻게 발굴하고 육성해나갈지에 대해 논의했다.

Item Analysis for Selecting Science Gifted Elementary School Student (초등과학영재교육원의 선발 문항 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the items that were used in entrance examination for science gifted education center for elementary school students by using content analysis and classical item analysis. In content analysis, objective type items exhibited matter and interpreting data were dominant. And essay type items consisted of creativity items, evaluated creative problem solving ability. Item difficulty and discrimination index, on the whole, were appropriate. Comparing with objective type, essay type has higher discrimination index. In correlation analysis between total score and score of each type of items, total score has the highest correlation with matter items, interpreting data and creativity.

  • Identification and selection the mathematically gifted child must be based on it's definition. So, we have to consider not only IQ or high ability in mathematical problem solving, but also mathematical creativity and mathematical task commitment. Furthermore, we must relate our ideas with the programs to develop each student's hidden potential. This study is focused on the discrimination of the candidates who would like to enter the elementary school level mathematics gifted education program. To fulfill this purpose, I considered the criteria, principles, methods, and tools. Identification is not exactly separate from selection and education. So, it is important to have long-term vision and plan to identify the mathematically gifted students.

A Study on the Characteristics of Creativity Factors Found in Elementary and Middle School Creative Gifted Student Selection Test (초.중학생 창의성 영재 선발 검사에 나타난 창의성 요인별 특성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the validity of a creativity measurement tool and to discover the creativity characteristics of creative gifted students by assessing the difference in the creativity characteristics of creative gifted students, who were selected from gifted students in elementary and middle schools through the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking(TTCT), according to school level and the type of the students (gifted student in mathematics, gifted student in science). To this research purpose, creative gifted students were selected by the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking(TTCT) on 594 students, who had applied for super gifted education, from 17 gifted students institutes under the jurisdiction of Jeollabukdo office of education, Then, t-tests and multiple regression analysis were performed to analyze the creativity factors between elementary students and middle school students and between mathematics-gifted students and science-gifted students. From the research, the following results were obtained. Although TTCT is effective in distinguishing gifted students with and without creativity, correlation coefficient values between creativity factors(the correlation coefficients between 'fluency' and 'originality' and between 'fluency' and 'elaboration' were .78 and .50 respectively) suggested the possibility of low uniqueness of creativity factors. In addition, compared with elementary students, middle school students showed significantly lower fluency (circles), elaboration(picture construction, picture completion), and the abstractness of titles(picture structure). In the meantime, science-gifted students displayed significantly higher originality(picture construction), and elaboration(picture construction, picture completion, circles) than mathematics-gifted students. Therefore, continuous study is required to enhance the validity of the test for the selection of creativity gifted students. Besides, efforts should be made to find ways to enhance the creativity of gifted students and to resolve the problem of decreasing creativity with student academic level increasing.

Development of Evaluation Method for Competition Intelligence of Sport Talented Children (체육영재의 영재성 평가를 위한 도구 개발)

  • Sport talent development center have been operating in order to support sports gifted children of the training in the early finding and selecting potential elementary school students for sports. For this purpose, elementary students in grades 2~6 are selected through basal fitness and physique test. However qualitative assessment of the student was not in progress, but depending on current physique and fitness totally sports talented children were selected. Therefore this study was to develop a tool to determine giftedness based on the observation method to assess the athletic potential of gifted children based on Yoon's competition intelligence(2011). For this purpose of study, sub-factors were extracted through expert consultations. Based on the extracted sub-factors, such as training intelligence, learning ability practical intelligence were extracted for practical intelligence, and finally 16 evaluation questions were proposed to evaluate sports talented children. Proposed questions will be helpful for quality evaluation of sports gifted children, as well as using as a method for discovering sports gifted children.

전형요소의 반영율과 기여율에 대한 연구

  • 대학입학전형에는 평가에 영향을 미치는 여러 가지 전형요소들이 있으며 각 대학는 이들 전형요소에 반영율을 정하여 총점으로 학생을 선발하고 있다. 그러나 실제로 각 전형요소가 학생선발에 미치는 기여율은 대학이 고려한 반영율과는 다르기 때문에 문제가 일어날 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 각 전형요소들의 반영율이 주어졌을 때 기여율을 계산하는 방법을 소개하고 전형요소별로 대학에서 원하는 기여율이 되도록 하는 반영율을 역산하는 방법을 소개한다. K대학의 실제 자료를 위의 제안된 방법에 적용하여 대학이 정한 반영율과 실제의 기여율이 얼마나 다른지를 조사하고 대학이 원하는 기여율이 되도록 하기 위하여 전형요소별 반영율을 계산하였다.

대학 학생선발의 새로운 모색:연세대 입학제도 개혁안을 중심으로

  • 여기서 필자가 논의하는 입학제도 개혁안이 당초 목표하는 성과를 거두기 위해서는 입시제도 외적인 맥락과 관련해서도 보다 심도있는 입체적 연구와 검토가 뒤따라야 할 것이다. 그러나 입학제도 개혁의 방안은 제도의 구체적이고 세부적인 내용에 있어서는 다양한 의견의 스펙트럼을 보일지라도 그 골격에 있어서는 수험생의 건전한 대학 지원과 고등학교 교육의 정상화 그리고 대학의 자율성과 다양성을 동시에 충족시키는 방향이어야 함은 두말할 필요가 없을 것이다. 또한 개혁안이 이러한 철학을 공유하고 있다면 구체적인 학생 선발 방안에서 나타나는 외형적 상이점은 별로 중요한 문제가 아니라고 할 수 있다.

The Practice of Vocational and Meister High Schools' Admission Selection and Students' School Choices Through Admission Process (특성화고 및 마이스터고 입학전형 실태: 학교의 학생 선발과 학생의 진학 결정)

  • This study examined the process of admission selection of vocational high schools and meister high schools and how the process have been utilized by schools to select appropriate students and by students to make decisions for application in consideration of their interests, aptitudes, and career paths. To address the purpose of this study, Focus Group Interviews(FGI) were conducted with three groups of participants: vocational high schools and meister high schools teachers, high school freshmen' parents, and middle school teachers who had many students advanced to vocational and meister high schools. The findings indicated that during the promotion process, schools made efforts to attract students with higher GAP and provided information mainly regarding employment rate instead of curriculum or program of majors. Since schools usually visited middle schools where higher GPA students were, not all students had balanced opportunities of high school promotions and enough information about majors. For the application process, the schools placed a high value on scholastic performance while students applied high schools considering their interests, aptitudes, and career paths. In terms of admission type and criteria, the high school teachers reported no big differences between special admission and general admission while students took advantage from the special admission process which was less competitive than general admission. Based on the findings, a number of suggestions were made in order to improve the process of admission selection of vocational high schools and meister high schools.

  • 일반적으로 영재교육을 실시함에 있어서 가장 먼저 선행되어야 할 것은 영재아 판별기준을 정해 학생선발과정을 운영하는 것과 실제 가르칠 교육내용을 구체적으로 정의하여 교재를 개발하는 것이다. 특히, 최근에 각광받고 있는 정보과학 분야의 영재교육에 대한 연구는 이제 시작단계에 불과하여 서로 다른 이론적 근거와 주관적인 기준에 따라 전국의 과학연재교육센터들을 중심으로 다양한 논의가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 아주대학교 과학영재교육센터에서 초등학교 4학년부터 중학교 3학년까지의 학생들을 대상으로 운영되고 있는 정보과학 영재교육 프로그램을 자세히 소개함으로써, 앞으로 정보과학 분야의 영재교육을 위한 구체적인 영재판별기준과 학생선발절차는 물론 체계적인 교육과정 및 교과목의 개발을 위한 하나의 실례로써 소개하고자 한다.

  • This article analyzes the academic achievement of students who entered A university from 2011 to 2012 using grade point average (GPA). The purpose of this analysis is to find the relationship between admission factors and academic achievement. Contrary to our expectation, GPA of student selected from KSAT is higher than that of selected from CSAT. So, designing and running university entrance type, it is necessary to consider admission factors deliberately.
