Dynamic Peak Load Calculation for Friendly Environment Energy Supply and Demand Plan at the Newport Area in Busan (부산 신항만지역 환경친화적 에너지 수급을 위한 동적 열부하계산)

  • The reclaimed land has peculiar characteristic of nature environment unlike midtown or inland and also, in comparison with inland, has bad weather condition, such as low temperature, strong wind, excessive sunshine, and moisture involved in a salt. Therefore the case of developing water front needs understanding characteristic of weather environment mused by reclamation in detail and proper development and organized maintenance. If development which doesn't investigate topographic and climate characteristic sufficiently is drove ahead, a rise of expense for energy and maintenance is going to be mused by deteriorating weather environmental, occurring a flaw of facility and calculating inaccurate capacity of facility. We looked into the weather state and drew up the standard weather data of the newport area in Busan which is reclaiming and developing now. In this research at the base qf the standard weather data, we calculate the dynamic peak loads for commerce, business and residence and then we utilize the results of the load calculation as basic information to determine facility capacity in the rear city of the newport area.

A Case Study of Life Cycle Cost Analysis on Pavements in Apartment Complex (단지내 도로포장별 생애주기 비용 분석(LCCA) 사례 연구)

  • Recently, block and permeable pavements have been placed in apartment complex. However. it is hard to decide the cycle of maintenance and repair due to lack of performance evaluation criteria for these pavements. This study carried out life cycle cost analysis(LCCA) to present resonable alternatives of the pavements by considering initial construction cost, maintenance and repair cost along with the cycle of repair. According to results of LCCA, the interlocking concrete block pavement is the best alternative when the repair cycle of 20years is assumed, while asphalt concrete pavement is the best alterative when the repair cycle of 10years is assumed. Therefore, the repair cycle is most important factor to select alternative. Also, it is necessary to develop resonable performance evaluation index to quantify the cycle of maintenance and repair in the future.

A Study on Climate Characteristics of Waterfront in Busan Area (부산지역 워터프런트의 기후특성에 관한 연구)

  • The waterfront has distinct climate characteristics different from urban or inland area. These may create not only the rise of energy and maintenance costs for facilities located at waterfront areas, but also the negative effects on the climate of the nearby inland area, unless these are treated with particular care. For the present study, the climate characteristics of waterfront were examined with climate data of 10 observation points carefully selected in Busan area. Each weather observation point was classified into either waterfront area of inland area, based on the distance from the coastal line. Special considerations were given to the climate data gathered at the Dae-Yeon weather station because it shows the climate characteristics similar to those of inland area, although it is located very near the waterfront area. Results indicates that this peculiar climate condition attributes, at least in part, to the reclamation of frontal coastal area.

An Experimental Study and Value Analysis for Performance Assessment of the Embo-thane Membrane Waterproofing Method (엘보탄도막방수공법의 성능평가를 위한실험적 연구 및 VE분석)

  • Since 1970s, urethane waterproofing method is broadly used in rooftops, underground spaces, and sports stadium for its outstanding ultraviolet blockage, watertightness, and elasticity. However, development of slippage-resistance and endurance, improvement of function considering convenience and visually pleasing of users, urethane waterproofing method is necessary, since rooftops and underground spaces have slippage and external force risks. Therefore, many improved waterproofing methods are being developed and, recently, embo-thane waterproofing method, which applies embo-spray coating system, has been developed. This paper explains exposure, nonexposure, and floor-material of embo-thane waterproofing method, and then perform experimental study for comparison with urethane waterproofing method about tensile strength, coefficient of expansion, performance of bond, anti-abrasion, and slippage-resistance. In addition, the performance index was presented for the superiority of embo-thane waterproofing method compared to urethane by setting up evaluation criteria considering not only physical performance but also design side of embo-thane waterproofing method, and Value Analysis applying AHP. Also for an assessment considering uncertain result, Monte Carlo Simulation Method was used to operate reliability analysis through statistic approach method.

Applicability of Composite Polyurea Method Considering the Required Performance in Underground Parking Lot Upper Slab (공동주택 지하주차장 상부슬래브의 요구성능을 고려한 복합형 폴리우레아 공법의 적용성 검토)

  • In this study, problems of the waterproofing methods in which water leakage occurs in the upper slab of the underground parking lot of apartment houses and the requirements considering the characteristics of the upper slab, and selected the appropriate performance(proposal) for the composite polyurea process are reviewed. As a result of the study, it is necessary to review performance such as responsiveness to upper slab of the multi-unit underground parking lot that is comprised of (1) crack and behavior responsiveness, (2) surface integrity, (3) vertical watertight stability, (4) pressure layer construction, (5) impact and pressure response and (6) vehicle moving load. As a result of evaluating 5 items corresponding to the requirements for the soft and hard complex polyurea, all of them were found to meet the conditions, and each materials were improved by compounding the materials that had problems when applying a single-ply method, thereby clarifying the advantages and disadvantages of the material property. However, in order to apply to the actual site, additional evaluation on site applicability such as mock-up evaluation should be conducted, and subsequent studies on the applicability of the market through review of economic feasibility and maintenance is required.

Comparison of Construction Cost Applied by RC and PC Construction Method for Apartment House and Establishment of OSC Economic Analysis Framework (공동주택 RC 및 PC공법 적용 공사비 비교 및 OSC의 포괄적 경제성 분석 프레임워크 구축)

  • OSC is a type of supply chain and value chain that spans the entire process of construction production (planning, design, construction, maintenance, etc.). It is a method of producing the final object by manufacturing it in a factory, transporting it to the site, installing and construction. This research as is the construction cost was compared for each case A, which applied the PC method, and case B, which applied the RC method. In the case of applying the PC method (excluding the PC design cost), compared to the case where only the RC method was applied, the frame construction cost per unit quantity (m3) increased by about 70% (50% based on the total RC construction type). Of the total frame construction cost of PC method application, PC accounted for 90.2%, 'PC manufacturing cost' 54.8%, 'PC assembly cost' 28.5%, and 'transportation cost' accounted for 6.89%. Also a decision-making framework that can consider both costs and benefits was established. In the case of benefits, the construction period, defect repair, disaster occurrence, energy efficiency, noise/dust/waste, and greenhouse gas emission indicators reflecting OSC technical advantages were presented. It can contribute to providing a basis for helping decision-making on the introduction of PC apartment houses using OSC.

Analysis of Dietary Education Contents in Picture Books for Young Children Nutrition Education (유아 영양교육을 위한 유아용 그림책에 나타난 식생활교육 내용 분석)

  • In order to develop a picture book for desirable eating habits of young children, the contents of nutrition education in picture books were analyzed. A total of 128 picture books were analyzed: 42 picture books from the Nuri-curriculum teacher's guide (Nuri), 40 picture books recommended by the National Library for Children & Young Adults (NLCY), and 46 picture books published by the Center for Children's Food-service Management (CCFM). As a result of analysis of dietary guidelines for Koreans, the item that appeared most frequently in picture books was 'Consume a variety of foods every day' (28.91%). The second most common dietary guidelines in the picture books was 'Enjoy a diet that incorporates local ingredients and is environmentally conscious' (21.88%). As a result of examining the main goal of 'eating right' in the Nuri Curriculum, 'healthy food' accounted for 36.72% and 'eating a variety of food' accounted for 30.47%. 'Eating with the right attitude' 4.69%, 'valuing food' 3.13%, and 'dining etiquette' 6.25% were low. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and distribute picture books that reflect the contents that are insufficient.

Improvement Plan for Planting Large Trees in Artificial Ground of the Apartment Complex (공동주택 인공지반 대형교목 식재 개선방안)

  • Large trees in the apartment complex are playing an important role to decide the quality of external environment. They are planted with the object of utilizing themselves as a landmark of the complex and enhancing space symbolism. Since planting large trees would require high maintenance costs and generate defect, it would cause decline in quality of external environment. This study researches on large trees in artificial ground of the apartment complex. This study analyzes actual condition of planting and tries to provide improvement direction of planting. In order to conduct this research, three target areas (over R30) and 265 trees are selected. Based on the drawings and specifications this study researches on the plan of landscape design, changes of field design, actual condition of completion, present condition of planting, minimum soil depth of growth and development and types of extra action for soil depth. The result shows that 85% of drawings and specifications for large trees in the apartment complex are deep-rooted tree species. On average large trees with R 35 are planted in artificial ground and there is lack of on average 65cm minimum soil depth of growth and development. Reviewing changes of field design is conducted in such limited size as mainly R30 and R40 and there is no extra plan for lack of soil depth. The plan for securing additional soil depth is done by 85% of mounding. However, since there is only 10% of satisfaction, the inappropriateness in securing additional soil is pointed out. This research also points out that the size of large trees, root characteristics and location-allocation for planting are pivotal factors for securing minimum soil depth of growth and development. This research also provides improvement direction in case of planning planting.

A Studies of Amendment a Standard of Estimated Unit Manpower and Material of Landscape Architectural Construction Work Classification (조경공사 표준품셈 공종 개정에 관한 연구)

  • The standard unit manpower and material in landscape architectural construction was consist of a standard and universal work classification. However, these constructional methods have created a number of problems in utilizing and responding on a variety of recently-developed working methods such as new constructional skills and technologies. This research decided that presenting the amendments of work classification of a standard unit manpower and material in landscape architectural construction was very important, and investigated those work classifications which required these new amendments. First of all, assessment items were selected through the literature reviews and a preliminary survey. Then, these assessment items were surveyed to the total of 60 professional landscape architecture field. The results of this study were as follows; First, the utilization level of the a standard unit manpower and material in landscape architectural construction was highest in the area of work classification of planting unit manpower and material. Second, the work classifications that needed to be added were recognized as leveling the ground construction, landscape structure construction, paving construction, water facilities construction, and outdoor facilities construction. Third, in the field of the a standard unit manpower and material in landscape architectural construction, 66.7% of the respondents replied that some amendments were necessary, and those amendments needed work classifications were identified as work classification of planting unit manpower and material was gigantic plant, topiary tree, temporary planting, exchange dead tree, etc. In the area of digging out was gigantic plant and plastic tree were recognized. The survey respondents also answered that, in keeping and management work classifications some amendments in pruning waste were necessary, and in the fields of rubble masonry work classifications some improvements were required in rubble aperture planting unit manpower and material and sodding and herbaceous sowing was a realistic lawn size unit manpower and material was needed. Based on the results explained above, this study suggests that amendments for a standard unit manpower and material in landscape architectural construction are necessary, especially in the areas of planting size and quality of work classifications unit manpower and material and in the unit manpower and material that affects the quality of lands caping constructions.
