Experimental study for the development of hydrophone-based bedload discharge estimation algorithm (하이드로폰 기반 소류사량 추정 알고리즘 개발을 위한 실험적 연구)

  • 최근 국내·외에서는 재래식 소류사량 채집기를 이용한 직접계측방법의 한계를 보완하기 위해 음향센서(하이드로폰)를 활용하여 소류사가 이동할 때 발생하는 충돌음 신호로부터 소류사량을 간접적으로 추정하는 방법이 개발 검토되고 있다. 이러한 방법은 하이드로폰에 계측된 음향신호의 특성 중 음향 펄스 수와 소류사량의 상관성을 해명하는 연구가 주를 이루고 있다. 그러나 기존의 펄스 카운트 알고리즘은 원시신호에 대한 불충분한 노이즈 필터링 작업과 음향특성 중 진폭만을 고려하여 임계치를 설정하였기 때문에 운송되는 소류사량이 많을 경우 신호 파형의 중첩으로 인한 펄스 수의 과소평가, 감지 가능한 상한 입자 크기가 제한되는 등의 결점을 가지고 있다. 또한 대다수의 연구가 소류사량의 총량과 시계열적인 변화를 추정하는데 주안점을 두고 있어 소류사량의 입도분포를 추정하기 위한 연구사례는 매우 부족한 실정에 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 위와 같은 한계를 극복하기 위해 다양한 입경과 유속 조건을 고려한 단독입자 공급 실험을 통해 하이드로폰에서 계측되는 소류사 입경별 충돌음의 진폭과 특정 주파수대역을 기준으로 음향특성치를 효과적으로 필터링 할 수 있는 개선된 Band-Passs Method 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법의 검증을 위해 기존의 음향신호 필터링 방법(증폭 채널 방법, 임계치 설정 방법)과 비교·분석을 수행한 결과 제안한 방법이 기존의 필터링 방법보다 높은 소류사량 추정률을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 단일입경 연속공급 실험을 수행하여 입경별 소류사량 추정관계식을 산출하고 혼합입경의 입도분포 추정 가능성을 확인하였다. 연구수행의 최종단계로 혼합입경 소류사량 추정이 가능한 입경별 통합 소류사량 추정 알고리즘을 개발하고 실측 소류사량과의 비교·분석을 통해 알고리즘의 소류사량 추정 정밀도를 검증하였다.

Design of H.264 Deblocking Filter for Low-Power Mobile Multimedia SoCs (저전력 휴대 멀티미디어 SoC를 위한 H.264 디블록킹 필터 설계)

  • This paper proposed a novel H.264 deblocking filter for low-power mobile multimedia SoCs. In H.264 deblocking filter, filtering can be skipped on some pixels when pixel value differences satisfy some specific conditions. Furthermore, whole filtering can be skipped when quantization parameter is less than 16. Based on these features, power consumption can be significantly reduced by shutting down deblocking filter partially or as a whole. The proposed deblocking filter can shut down partial or whole blocks with simple control circuits. Common hardware performs both horizontal filtering and vertical filtering. It was implemented in silicon chip using $0.35{\mu}m$ standard cell library technology. The gate count is about 20,000 gates. The maximum operation frequency is 108MHz. The maximum throughput is 30 frame/s with CCIR601 image format.

  • Adaptive digital filters with long impulse response such as acoustic echo canceller and active noise controller suffer from slow convergence and computational burden. Subband techniques and multirate signal processing have been recently developed to improve the problem of computational complexity and slow convergence in conventional adaptive filter. Any FIR transfer function can be realized as a serial connection of interpolators followed by subfilters with a sparse impulse response. In this case, each interpolator which is related to the column vector of Hadamard matrix has band-pass magnitude response characteristics shifted uniformly. Subband technique using Hadamard transform and decimation of subband signal to reduce sampling rate are adapted to system modeling and acoustic noise cancellation In this paper, delayless subband structure with nonuniform bandwidth has been proposed to improve the performance of the convergence speed without aliasing due to decimation, where input signal is split into subband one using tree-structured filter bank, and the subband signal is decimated by a decimator to reduce the sampling rate in each channel, then subfilter with sparse impulse response is transformed to full band adaptive filter coefficient using Hadamard transform. It is shown by computer simulations that the proposed method can be adapted to general adaptive filtering.

  • 주제 기반 크롤링(Topical Crawling)으로 수집된 문서들은 서로 비슷한 단어들을 가지고 있기 때문에 정작 주어진 주제에 적합하지 않은 문서 들을 포함할 수 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 특정 주제에 해당하는 문서만을 필터링하는 작업이 필요하다. 본 논문은 화재 뉴스 기사에 대한 필터링을 위해 단어 기반 속성과 어울려 화재 뉴스 기사의 특성을 고려한 메타 데이터 속성을 추출하여 이에 특화된 기계학습 메커니즘을 제안하였다. 제안 기법의 F1-측정치는 92.1 %로서, 현재 최고의 성능을 보이는 SVM, 나이브베이즈 알고리즘보다. 2~3% 개선된 것이다.

  • Multiplication free adaptive digital filtering algorithms are discussed. The proposed. The proposed algorithm uses delta modulation digital filter and the relevant filter weights are updated using the SIGN algorithms to realize an adaptive digital filter without multiplication operations. It is shown that the resulting algorithm can be implemented using simple up/down counting operations. The convergence characteristics of the proposed adaptive digital filtering algorithm and .others are investigated for a system identification problem.

  • This paper is a study on image noise reduction of modified sigma filter by image decomposition using directivity. Conventional sigma filter has been shown to be a good solution both in terms of filtering accuracy and computational complexity. However, the sigma filter does not preserve well small edges especially for high level of additive noise. In this paper, we propose here a new method using a modified sigma filter. In our proposed method the input image is first decomposed in two components that have features of horizontal, vertical and diagonal direction. Then, two components are applied HPF and LPF. By applying a conventional sigma filter separately on each of them, the output image is reconstructed from the filtered components. Added noise is removed and our proposed method preserves the edges from the image. Comparative results from experiments show that the proposed algorithm achieves higher gains, on average, 2.6 dB PSNR than the sigma filter and 0.5 dB PSNR than the modified sigma filter. When relatively high levels of noise added, the proposed algorithm shows better performance than two conventional filters.

  • Homomorphic filtering improves image by enhancing high components and reducing low components in the Sequency domain based on FFT, as one of useful digital image processing techniques. In this study, the application program f3r homomorphic filtering was developed. Using this program, satellite imageries and geophysical image such as magnetic image data were processed and their results were analyzed. In case of applying to other techniques suck as histogram equalization and kernel-based masking f3r the same purpose. they often cause the slight distortion of boundary or overall change of brightness values on the whole image. Whereas. homomorphic filtering has ability to enhance selectively detailed components in a target image. Therefore. this technique can be effectively used for extraction or separation of complex types of characteristics contained in the satellite imagery. In addition, this technique would be applicable to investigate anomalous zone in various geophysical image data.

A Realization of Injurious moving picture filtering system with Gaussian Mixture Model and Frame-level Likelihood Estimation (Gaussian Mixture Model과 프레임 단위 유사도 추정을 이용한 유해동영상 필터링 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose the injurious moving picture filtering system using certain sounds contained in the injurious moving picture to filter injurious moving picture which is distributed without limitation in internet and internet storage space. For this purpose, the Gaussian Mixture Model which can well represent the characteristics of the sound, is used and frame level likelihood estimation is used to calculate the likelihood between filtering target data and the sound models. Also, the pruning method which can real-time proceed by reducing the comparing number of data, is applied for real-time processing, and MWMR method which showed good performance from existing speaker identification, is applied for the distinguish performance of high precision. In the identification experiment result, in case of the frame rate which is the proportion of total frame to high likelihood frame, is set to 50%, identification error rate is 6.06%, and in case of frame rate is set to 60%, error rate is 3.03%. As the result, the proposed system can distinguish between general and injurious moving picture effectively.

Social Big Data Analysis for Franchise Stores

  • When conducting social big data analysis for franchise stores, reviews of multiple branches of a franchise can be collected together, from which analysis results can be distorted significantly. To improve its accuracy, it should be possible to filter reviews of other branches properly which are not subject to the analysis. This paper presents a method for social big data analysis which reflects characteristics of franchise stores. The proposed method consists of search key configuration and review filtering. For the former, the open data provided by Small Business Promotion Agency is used to extract region names for collecting reviews more accurately. For the latter, open search APIs provided by Naver or Kakao are used to obtain franchise branch information for filtering reviews of other branches that are not subject to analysis. To verify performance of the proposed method, experiments were conducted based on real social reviews collected from online, where the results showed that the accuracy of the proposed review filtering was 93.6% on the average.

Comprehensive Comparisons among LIDAR Fitering Algorithms for the Classification of Ground and Non-ground Points (지면.비지면점 분류를 위한 라이다 필터링 알고리즘의 종합적인 비교)

  • Filtering process that separates ground and non-ground points from LIDAR data is important in order to create the digital elevation model (DEM) or extract objects on the ground. The purpose of this research is to select the most effective filtering algorithm through qualitative and quantitative analysis for the existing filtering method used to extract ground points from LIDAR data. For this, four filtering methods including Adaptive TIN(ATIN), Perspective Center-based filtering method(PC), Elevation Threshold with Expand Window(ETEW) and Progressive Morphology(PM) were applied to mountain area, urban area and the area where building and mountains exist together. Then the characteristics for each method were analyzed. For the qualitative comparison of four filtering methods used for the research, visual method was applied after creating shaded relief image. For the quantitative comparison, an absolute comparison was conducted by using control points observed by GPS and a relative comparison was conducted by the digital elevation model of the National Geographic Information Institute. Through the filtering experiment of the LIDAR data, the Adaptive TIN algorithm extracted the ground points in mountain area and urban area most effectively. In the area where buildings and mountains coexist, progressive morphology algorithm generated the best result. In addition, as a result of qualitative and quantitative comparisons, the applicable filtering algorithm regardless of topographic characteristics appeared to be ATIN algorithm.
