  • 초음파의 응용분야에는 음파 성질을 이용한 정보 측정분야와 에너지를 이용한 용접 및 가공 등을 들수 있다. 초음파 용접의 경우 저항용접이나 용융 용접을 적용할 수 없는 재료의 접합에 이용되는데 이는 모재를 음극간에 놓고 압입하면서 초음파를 발신하여 그 진동을 이용하는 용접방법이다. 압전소자의 경우 피에조 물질을 사용하는데 일반적으로 $150^{\circ}C$이상에서 분자구조의 변형을 일으켜 제 역할을 못하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 압전소자와 공구혼의 온도를 최적으로 유지하기 위하여 추가적인 공기 유로와 방열핀을 설계하여 이것이 방열성능에 미치는 영향에 대해 고찰하였다.

Experimental study on heat transfer inside inclined thermosyphon with low integral-fins (낮은 핀을 가진 경사 써모사이폰의 열전달 성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • An experimental study on the heat transfer of the inclined thermosyphon with low integral-fins in which boiling and condensation occurred is performed to investigate its heat transfer performance. Water and CFC-30 have been used as the working fluids. The operating temperature and the inclination angle of thermosyphon have been used as the experimental parameters. The heat flux input and the inclination angle $\theta$ towards the vertical position were varied in steps. The heat transfer rate in the thermosyphon was depended upon the inclination angle. In addition, it is to obtain the overall heat transfer coefficients and the characteristics as a operating temperature for the practical applications.

Performance Analysis on the Various Shapes of Symmetric Fins (여러 형상의 대칭적인 핀의 성능 해석)

  • A comparison of the fin effectiveness, thermal resistance, and fin efficiency between the symmetric triangular fin and the symmetric trapezoidal fin which has various slopes of the fin side is made. Also the relation between Biot number and the non-dimensional fin length for equal amount of heat loss from these fins is shown. For these analyses, a forced analytic method is used. In particular, the equation for the heat loss is used simultaneously for both the symmetric triangular fin and the symmetric trapezoidal fins by just adjusting the value of the slope factor. The value of Biot number varies from 0.01 to 1.0 and the non-dimensional fin length varies from 0.01 to 10. For simplicity, the root temperature and fin's surrounding convection coefficients are assumed constant and the condition is assumed to be steady state.

  • Since the operating pressure of $CO_2$ gascooler is so high compared with that of previous subcritical condenser, the optimization of gascooler is needed for improve heat exchanger performance. In this study, the performance characteristics of five kinds of heat exchangers were analyzed and compared with operating conditions. As a result, the 4-20 HX-tube shows the maximum gascooler capacity because the heat transfer is effective and pressure drop is small. Beside, the high performance of 4-20 HX-tube could be keep for wide operating condition.

  • 본 논문에서는 유전체 기판형태에서 대역통과 여파기의 크기를 줄이며, 감쇄극을 통과대역 양쪽에 적절하게 위치시키어 감쇄특성을 개선시킬 수 있는 구조를 제안한다. 제시된 구조는 일반적인 헤어핀구조와 접지면에 슬롯라인을 구현해주어 2단 대역통과 여파기를 설계하였다. 설계된 대역 여파기의 등가회로를 제시하였고 시뮬레이션 및 측정 결과를 비교하였다. 구현된 여파기는 일반적인 결합선로 여파기에 비해 크기를 크게 줄 일수 있었고, 감쇄특성은 3단 대역통과 여파기의 감쇄특성에 비교할 수 있다. 제시된 구조는 소형화 및 성능개선에 장점을 가지고 있어 다른 소자에도 많은 적용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

  • Several desiccant cooling systems have been developed in terms of cost and performance. In this study a fin-tube exchanger has been used for liquid desiccant dehumidification system. This dehumidifier has been designed to study the absorption characteristic of the aqueous triethylene glycol(TEG) solution which has the flow range from 20 to 50 LPM. The dehumidifier performance characteristic of working factor variables such as inlet solution flow rate, air flow rate, solution concentration, solution temperature, brine temperature, air temperature and inlet air relative humidity has been analyzed. The result of this experiment can provide useful data for hybrid air conditioning system.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the performance of supplemental cooling and heating system equipped with the 1 kW thermoelectric module. The system consist of 96 thermoelectric modules, heat sink with louver fin and water cooling jacket which is attached on the hot side of the thermoelectric module. The cooling and heating performance test of the thermoelectric system is conducted with various conditions, such as intake voltage, air inlet temperature, air flow volume, water inlet temperature and water flow rate at calorimeter chamber in consideration of environmental conditions in realistic vehicle drive. The experimental results of a thermoelectric system shows that the cooling capacity and COP is 1.03 kW, and 1.0, and heating capacity and COP is 1.53 kW, and 1.5 respectively.

Comparison of Performance Characteristics with Heat Exchanger Type in $CO_2$ Cycle (이산화탄소 사이클에서 열교환기의 형태 변화에 따른 성능특성 비교)

  • The theoretical analysis of performance characteristics in a $CO_2$ cycle with the heat exchanger type was carried out. The size and performance of the fin-tube and microchannel heat exchanger were compared with operating conditions. As a result, the performance of the fin-tube gascooler and evaporator were more sensitive to the variation of operating condition compared to that of the microchannel gascooler and evaporator. Beside, the sizes of microchannel gascooler and evaporator could be decreased by 73% and 76%, respectively, compared to those of the fin-tube type gascooler and evaporator with the similar capacity. The COP and reliability of the $CO_2$ system can be increased by using a microchannel heat exchanger.

Experimental Study on Heat Transfer Performance of Oil Cooler (오일 쿨러의 열전달 성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The experimental study was carried out to evaluate the heat transfer performance on the shell side of shell-and-plate finned tube heat exchanger with three different tube numbers(9, 13 and 19). Oil flowing on the shell side was cooled by cold water flowing inside the tubes. A shell-and-tube heat exchanger of an oil cooler consisted of one shell pass and two tube passes with the inner tube diameter of 8.82 mm and the tube length of 575 mm. Mass flow rate was varied from 1.2 to $6.0\;m^3/h$ for oil and from 0.6 to $3.0\;m^3/h$ for cold water, respectively. From the experiment of shell-and-plate finned tube heat exchanger, the shell side heat transfer coefficient of heat exchanger with 9 tubes was compared with that of 13 and 19 tubes. It was found that the heat exchanger with 9 plate finned tubes showed more performance of heat transfer than that of 13 and 19 tubes.

A Study on the Performance of the Boiling and Condensation Heat Transfer of Vertical Closed Two-Phase Thermosyphons with Low Integral-Fins (관 외벽에 낮은 핀을 가진 수직 열사이폰의 비등 및 응축열전달 성능에 관한 연구)

  • An Experimental study on the boiling and condensation heat transfer performance of thermosyphons with low intergral-fins was performed to investigate its heat transfer characteristics. A plain thermo syphon having the same inner and outer diameter as the finned thermosyphons was also tested for comparison. Water and CFC-30 was used as working fluids. The experimental results have been assessed and compared with same existing theories. Good agreement with the theories of Imura and Nusselt was obtained. The vertical closed-type thermosyphons with low integral-fins gave significant increases in the overall heat transfer coefficient compared to plain thermosyphon. In addition, the overall heat transfer coefficients and the operating characteristics was obtained as a function vof operating temperature for the practical applications. Also, the closed two-phase thermosyphons with low integral-fins would be highly recommended to achieve some inexpensive and compact heat exchangers in the range of low temperatures.
