  • The purpose of this study is to examine the definition of racism, prejudice, discrimination, and neo-racism, and to find solutions to racial discrimination. Specifically, we looked for cases of banal racism that appeared in the global era and looked at the racism that is prevalent in everyday life. The American film 《Hidden Figures》 is based on a true story and depicts the racism experienced by black women, and this racism is prevalent around the world as it appears in everyday life. In particular, racial discrimination has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. Racial discrimination continues even after the pandemic. Therefore, a solution to overcome everyday racism was suggested. The results of this study will serve as an opportunity to realize that habitual and unconscious racism can be physical and mental violence for people suffering from racial discrimination.

  • Oh (2008) has proposed the one-sided likelihood ratio test of the equality of two agreement measures. However the use of this test may be limited since the computations of test statistic and critical value are not easy. We propose a test for comparing two dependent agreements using some well known tests for marginal homogeneity, for instance, Bhapkar test, Stuart-Maxwell test. Data obtained from 2008 world figure skating championship ladies single is analyzed for illustration purposes.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the result of hardship performance of the propulsion speed on the flying carmel spins during a Figure Skating. The subjects were five the korea national representative players. Kinematic variables were analyzed 5frame of the excursion phase by the three-dimensional motion analysis system(60Hz). The obtained conclusion were as follows: In this study, during the propulsion classify two groups as "type I" the acceleration patterns S3, S4 and "type II" the uniform velocity group S1, S2, S5. The results of percentage comparative analysis between type I and type II can be summarized as below: the height of jump(24%), the height of COM(25%), the maximum speed of Roundhouse Kick(21%), the judging technical score(18%), the flight time(13%), the velocity of spins(4%), the distance of flight(-6%) Analysis of the results on performance variables, the velocity pattern of the type I showed comparatively excellence than that of type II.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop learning materials based on the Kepler's abductive reasoning and to identify high school students' rule-inferring strategies on the law of planetary motion. The learning materials including the concepts of solar magnetic field, conservation of figure skater's angular momentum and Kepler's polyhedral theory were developed and the questions about Kepler's 2nd and 3rd law of planetary motion were also created. The participants were 79science high school students and 83general high school students. The patterns and properties of their abductive inference were analyzed. The findings revealed that the students showed 'incomplete analogy abduction', 'analogy abduction' and 'reconstruction' to generate the hypotheses concerning the Mars' motion related to the solar magnetic field. There were more general high school students who showed the incomplete analogy abduction than science high school students. On the other hand, there were more science high school students who showed the analogy abduction and reconstruction strategy than general high school students. Also, they showed 'incomplete analogy abduction', 'analogy abduction' and 'model construction and manipulation' to generate the hypotheses concerning Kepler's second law. A number of general high school students showed the incomplete analogy. It is suggested that because the analogy of figure skater cause the students' alternative framework to use, more detailed demonstration is necessary in class. In addition, students combined Kepler's polyhedral theory with their prior knowledge to infer Kepler's third law.

  • In global apparel product development, flat is one of the most important key factor for technical design communication. Proportionally correct flats based on correct scaled human body figures are imperative to be successful in the fashion business. In this study the researchers were to develop body templates for flats for Korean women body types using data from 'Size Korea 2004 (5th)', which is a Korean government apparel sizing project to analyze women's body measurements (age range 7-49). We measured 13 height measurements, 6 width measurements, 8 circumference measurements, 6 length measurements, 3 angle measurements and 5 body measurements. A body figure (i.e., schema) for each group was created by Pattern Design Software (PAD) System 4.1. Muscle was added to the schema created by Adobe Illustrator to ensure a better visualization and convenience for industry uses for flats. Developed body figure template of representative type had the largest difference in height level compared to exiting figures. It had a bigger head, lower crotch level, and longer crotch depth and hip length than existing figures.

  • This study is aimed at understanding the color extendibility of color-field abstract through Mark Rothko's paintings. Color extendibility is a structure applied by Mark Rothko. He simplifies it and by pursuing autonomy and immediacy of the color itself, including surface color and the front of color-field, Rothko creates value through motions in his square paintings of non-fixed shapes. Chapter 2 revisits the meaning of color in abstract expressionism and explains the principle of color-field by applying the concept of ergon and parergon. In chapter 3, the principle, processes, methods, techniques of expression were studied as a basis to understand color extendibility and color-field abstract. In chapter 4, the works of Mark Rothko were analyzed based on his multiform paintings(1946-1948), number and untitled(1949-1957), and black paintings(1958-1970) in order to identify, in the final chapter, the features of color extendibility in Rothko's works. According to the above research, the thesis successfully concludes that the artist's reconstruction of reality and readjustment of transcendent reality are reproduced via color extendibility, the movement of color-field.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the variables of plantar pressure distribution, the COG between Flying Sit Spin(FSS) and Flying Camel Spin(FCS) during a Figure Skating. In order to investigate the two types of spin mechanism in the Korea national of elite women Figure skaters(N=4), this study investigated the phase time, CA(contact area), MF(maximum force) Mean Force, and PP(peak pressure) Mean Force. The data was collected using PEDAR Mobile System which is the pressure distribution measuring devices. The obtained conclusions were as follow: During the two types of spins(FSS and FCS), the FCS is higher than the FSS on the MF(20%BW), PP(20%BW) variables during P4 phase, but the FSS is larger than the FCS in the CA, MF, and PP during P1, P2, P3 phase. Consequently, depend on the COP and the COG locations about the vertical ground reaction vector, the FCS comparatively excelled control of speed feedback than the FSS in the P4 phase.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the change of Korean image, product image, purchase intention and revisit intention after successful results in the global sport event. A group of intercollegiate students were selected using the purposive sampling method for the study. Statistical methods were used for enhancing validity and reliability for this paper such as t-test, regression analysis, reliability analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The statistical package programs for this research were SPSS(ver. 12.0) and AMOS (ver. 7.0). The conclusion of this research were; (1) There are significant differences in factors such as Korean image, product image, purchase intention and revisit intention before and after the global sport events. (2) There are significant differences in factors before and after the global sport events when two groups were separated in terms of event involvements.

  • Student-athletes identify themselves as athletes first and students second and experience identity foreclosure in which they rarely consider other possibilities for their career besides professional athletes. There is a gap between the career education that college student-athletes and regular students get, so we conducted this study to test the effectiveness of a career education program. The proposed career education program was based on Super and Ginsberg's career development theory and Holland's career choice theory. Data were collected from 13 college student-athletes using a pretest-posttest research design and analyzed using a t-test. The program was conducted in the form of 90-minute weekly sessions over 3 weeks. The program's effectiveness was measured in terms of participants' stress from a lack of career information, career preparedness, self-understanding, and career decision-making self-efficacy. The results showed that each variable, except stress from a lack of career information, was significantly improved after the program compared to before the program, indicating that the program was effective. Theoretical and practical implications regarding career education for student-athletes are discussed in this paper.
