  • It is difficult to apply a Software Process Certification to small scale project, because of much activities and documents for manage project and guarantee the qualities in small manpower. This paper presents optimized Software Process Certification Model for small scale software development, a combine Scrum with essential elements of NIPA's(National IT industry Promotion Agency) SP-Certification model. The proposed model defined minimum Activities and Documents for SP Certification. The model that I showed consists of 16 Processes and 58 Activities, and 39 Artifacts are created. As a result of having compared proposed model with a Standard Process of Small Business, I confirmed that a small scale project's burden reduced because Activity decreased 38% and Document decreased 20%. In order to verify the validity of the proposed model, applied it in two small scale projects, and compare with the project by Scrum process only, it finished that systematic management was possible without additional manpower, and reached SP-Certification level 2.

  • Conceptual cost is estimated with insufficient information at an early stage of a building construction project, resulting in an inevitable gap between conceptual estimated cost and real constructed cost. For a project to be successful, this gap must be managed to be lower than a reliable level. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a structural process for managing the reliability of conceptual cost estimates at an early stage of a building construction project. In researching this study, conceptual cost estimate experts were interviewed, and a risk management process was studied. Reliability assessment and a review process for improving the quality of conceptual cost estimate and the planning strategy of reliability management based on previous similar projects were added to the present estimate process. The proposed reliability management process will improve the chances of a successful project, by helping to decrease the risk of conceptual estimated cost.

  • The term project executed at the university is a learner-centered learning method in which students select their topics, draw up their plans, and produce results by themselves based on the content they have learned during the semester. Through the term-end project of the subjects relating software, students learn various techniques for the programming language and produce the outcomes of their project by the creative program development process. However, non-computer majors who take software course as liberal arts subjects have difficulty in understanding the programming language, so it is necessary to provide feedback from their professor for encouraging students in carrying out their projects smoothly. Therefore, a feedback method by the discussions between a professor and learners that can be applied to the term-end project of programming subject for the non-computer majors is proposed. The proposed method was apply to the actual term-end projects and the meaningful results were confirmed through the analysis of the project processes and outcomes.

  • Actual construction data of completed projects can be utilized for the economic, time benefit of improving the efficiency on planning, designing, estimating and managing tasks in succeeding projects. But the lack of the system which accumulates and manages the actual data with standardized type, it has not performed well and stayed on early stage. It is required not only specific plan for the utilization of actual data but a construction information management system which collects and processes far-reaching data with standardized from based on facility. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop a construction information management system for Apartment housing ,which stored data along project feature database, actual cost database and actual database based on the Web. This effort can make an offer the clearness of dull construction market and the base of construction intelligence

  • Risk management is an important element for successful management of overseas construction projects. This study reports a case study in which we proposed a risk management planning and procedure for plant construction which can be applied throughout the project life cycle. We analyzed the risk management practices of Korean construction companies by applying the concept of the PRINCE2 method developed in the UK, and proposed a risk management planning and procedure with organizational structure and working process. The suggested risk management planning and procedure was applied to an overseas plant construction project, and produced good results. It is believed that the procedure suggested here can also be aplied to other companies to enhance the competency in the global construction market.

  • With the rapid development of network and multimedia technologies, computer mediated communication has been realized and there has been a great potential to use and research on asynchronous voice communication systems. This paper reports a case study where 6 groups(3 for documentation work, 3 for software development) of 24 people who used voice mail when carrying out their projects. The purpose of this study is to obtain an overall understanding of usability of voice mail which is a typical example of asynchronous voice communication systems, under a particular situation where project works are performed. Through the study, we came to understand general purposes of usage of voice mail, patterns of using it revealed during the project process, different ways of using it according to different types of projects, and reasons why people are currently not likely to use voice mail. The results hopefully provide systems developers with a guideline to understand the nature of voice mail from users' perspectives.

  • Experts work teams generally agree that small teams are better than large teams for getting things done. Also, always aim for the lowest practical team size. But what does "small" mean\ulcorner We Introduce to productive metrics such as project delivery rate (PDR) and speed of delivery (SOD) for decision criteria of ideal team size. The experimental is based on the analysis of 300 project data. These data sets are divide in two subgroups. One is a development project ; the other is a maintenance project. As a result of experimental in two subgroup, we come to the conclusion that the molt successful projects has small teams indeed staffed with maximum five persons. This paper presents ideal team size in order to provide information that can be used as a guide in selecting the most practical and productive-based team size for a software development project.t project.

  • Since the larger and complex construction projects are performed, project performance measurement is highlighting the importance to eliminate inefficiencies and plan to reasonable management practices. So many researchers are conducting research about the project critical sucess factor. But, these factors are mixed both management practices to improve performance and native project characteristics. Therefore performance measurement data couldn't apply to another project successfully. And the project characteristics affect project performance. But contractor couldn't change characteristics. This study provides a project characteristics's definition and classification. This study provides a quantitative level of performance improvement difficulty through out project manager survey. The contractor can estimate a level of performance difficulty through initial project information. With this, project contractor can more efficiently manage project.
