  • Promise는 OPNFV의 자원 예약 및 할당, 용량 관리 프로젝트이다. 자원을 많이 필요로 하는 월드컵 경기나 쓰나미 경보 같은 재해를 대비한 자원 예약을 통해 끊임없는 서비스를 제공하기 위함이다. 그러나 기능 구현을 위해 OpenStack 내 많은 컴포넌트의 수정이 필요한 어려운 점이 있다. 그래서 Phase2의 OpenStack 과의 통합된 모델을 목표로, 현재의 Phase1은 Shim-layer 구현물 단계에 있다. Shim-layer는 Node.js 위에서 실행되는 YangForge 프레임워크로 기술된다. 이는 Yang 데이터 모델링로서 스키마를 표현하고, 컨트롤 로직은 YAML로, 설정 데이타는 JSON으로, JavaScript를 만드는 CoffeeScript 언어로서 스펙을 기술한다. 인터페이스는 CLI, Web GUI, REST/JSON, WebSockets이다. 이를 OPNFV summit 2015년 11월에 데모한 바 있다. 이 프로젝트를 분석을 통해 용량 관리, 자원 예약 및 자원 할당하는 예약기법들을 살펴보고자 한다.

  • 최근 1인 미디어인 개인방송은 무선통신망과 스마트폰 등의 발달로 현재 많은 사람들이 이용하고 있는 인터넷 서비스 중 하나이다. 개인방송이 인기를 끌고 있는 가장 큰 이유는 방송을 진행하는 브로드캐스터와 시청자가 실시간으로 소통하며 양방향 서비스를 제공할 수 있기 때문이다. 하지만 기존의 플랫폼에서는 단순히 시청자들의 채팅을 통해서만 양방향 소통을 진행한다는 한계점이 존재한다. 이에 본 논문은 채팅로그뿐만 아니라 시청자들의 사진, 카메라 롤, 영상, 음성의 링크를 채팅창에 띄우고 부가정보서비스 창을 구축하여 다양한 의견을 공유할 수 있게 되고 브로드캐스터 컨트롤 시스템을 이용하여 부가정보서비스를 제어할 수 있게 됨으로써 한층 더 흥미로운 방송을 운용할 수 있게 하는 프레임워크를 연구하였다.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the existing control methods of the legacy wearable-based CE devices and identified the requirements for improvements. In the conventional system, users waste their time configuring the initial network and registering their devices with the management server. To overcome these hurdles, we implemented the Easy-Setup framework for smart phones to personalized cloud devices.

  • This paper describes UPnP AV System which provides various multimedia services in home network composed of diverse multimedia devices. It is difficult to build home network where various multimedia services can be provided because there are a lot of difference devices, platforms, and network technologies. However, UPnP middleware can make up multimedia service environment in that home network. Therefore this paper describes how the multimedia service environment is built with UPnP middleware. We analyze and modify MediaServer, MediaRenderer, and Control Point, which these are the components of UPnP AV archtecture. Additionally we provide some efficient GUI to use different kind of multimedia in any place of home networks. We propose UPnP AV Framework of playback module that consist of MediaServer providing contents, MediaRenderer using contents, and Control Point providing GUI. Especially, MediaRenderer and Control Point are integrated in set-top.

  • Recently, middleboxes play a key role in many network settings such as firewalls, VPN gateways, proxies, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and WAN optimizers. However, achieving the performance and security benefits that middleboxes offer is highly complex, and therefore it is essential to manage middleboxes efficiently and dynamically. In this respect, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) offers a promising solution for middlebox policy enforcement by using logically centralized management, decoupling the data and control planes, and providing the ability to programmatically configure forwarding rules. Also, cloud computing and distributed Network Function Virtualization (NFV) can enable to manage middleboxes more easily. We introduce SDN-based middlebox management framework in integrated wired and wireless networks and discuss the further issues.

Efficient Mobile Writing System with Korean Input Interface Based on Face Recognition

  • The virtual Korean keyboard system is a method of inputting characters by touching a fixed position. This system is very inconvenient for people who have difficulty moving their fingers. To alleviate this problem, this paper proposes an efficient framework that enables keyboard input and handwriting through video and user motion obtained through the RGB camera of the mobile device. To develop this system, we use face recognition to calculate control coordinates from the input video, and develop an interface that can input and combine Hangul using this coordinate value. The control position calculated based on face recognition acts as a pointer to select and transfer the letters on the keyboard, and finally combines the transmitted letters to integrate them to perform the Hangul keyboard function. The result of this paper is an efficient writing system that utilizes face recognition technology, and using this system is expected to improve the communication and special education environment for people with physical disabilities as well as the general public.

  • WebRTC is one of the most recent technologies that supports browser-to-browser for voice calling, video chat, and P2P file sharing without the need of either internal or external plugins. However, there has some limitation which lets our development deal with many problems. This research will focus just on a small field of that problem which is bandwidth. While the bandwidth for downloading and uploading is fixed by service providers, but the number of users in a certain area is increasing largely by the time. In this paper, we propose a model to overcome the limitation of the bandwidth based on fuzzy control to adjust utilized bandwidth by changing frame rate and resolution of streaming video in the client itself.

  • Growing efforts and interests of security techniques in a diverse surveillance environment, the intelligent surveillance system, which is capable of automatically detecting and tracking target objects in multi-cameras environment, is actively developing in a security community. In this paper, we propose an effective visual surveillance system that is avaliable to track objects continuously in multiple non-overlapped cameras. The proposed object tracking scheme consists of object tracking module and tracking management module, which are based on hand-off scheme and protocol. The object tracking module, runs on IP camera, provides object tracking information generation, object tracking information distribution and similarity comparison function. On the other hand, the tracking management module, runs on video control server, provides realtime object tracking reception, object tracking information retrieval and IP camera control functions. The proposed object tracking scheme allows comprehensive framework that can be used in a diverse range of application, because it doesn't rely on the particular surveillance system or object tracking techniques.

A Study on Framework Development Directions for Solving Smart City Issues (스마트시티 이슈 해결을 위한 정책프레임워크 개발방향에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to present the direction of development of a policy framework to solve the problems associated with Smart Cities. For this purpose, first, after investigating the development process of domestic smart cities, we examined various cases of smart city policies being established overseas. Second, we analyzed the existing research into smart cities, in order to understand the relationship between the major issues. Third, an expert interview was conducted based on the identified issues. Fourth, we presented the direction of development of a Smart City policy framework to solve the major problems associated with domestic and foreign smart cities. In the policy framework presented in this research, after subdividing the elements used for solving each problem, we linked them with the smart city components and selected matching executable agents to prepare solutions. Then, once the deliberation process of the National Smart City Committee and the Smart Urban Service Support Organization has been completed, the government will support it financially and politically. It also suggested that it is necessary to perform continuous information gathering and monitoring work, along with the construction of a control tower to strengthen the network effect between smart city related markets. This research has significance in that it presents the procedures required for efficiently responding to the problems arising in the smart city promotion process. It is expected that it will serve as the basis for establishing policies dealing with the development and advancement of domestic smart cities in the future.

  • 최근 유비쿼터스 기술이 급속도로 발전함에 따라 많은 application들이 다양한 환경에서 통신서비스를 요구하고 있다. 이를 지원하기 위하여 많은 무선 센서 네트워킹 기술들이 제안되었지만 제한된 대역쪽과 높은 에러율로 인하여 이동성을 지원하기에는 부족하였다. 특히, 경로를 획득하기 위한 Route Request (RREQ)의 잦은 브로드캐스트 과정은 오히려 혼잡 및 에너지 소모를 야기시키며 네트워크 성능을 저하시키는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 언제, 어디서나 다양한 토폴로지 환경에서 자가 구성이 가능하며, 이동성을 지원하는 Tree기반의 Self-Routing 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 센서 네트워크내 멀티홉 라우팅 프로토콜과는 달리, 라우터 혹은 싱크노드의 비컨 프레임내 Association 정보만을 이용하여 새로운 라우팅 테이블을 형성함으로써 컨트롤 패킷의 오버 헤드를 크게 줄일 수 있다. 성능 평가를 위하여 실제 모바일 로봇을 이용한 실험과 시뮬레이션을 동시에 하였으며, 기존의 기법보다 향상된 성능을 가짐을 보인다.
