The Design of th GRACE-LB Algorithm for Congestion Control in Broadband ISDN ATM Network (광대역 ISDN ATM 네트워크의 과잉 밀집 제어를 위한 GRACE-LB 알고리즘의 설계)

  • The new preventive control mechanisms for traffic management in BISDN/ATM networks can be divided into Connection Admission Control(CAC), Usage Parameter Control (UPC), and Priority Control. Of these mechanism, Usage Parameter Control continuously monitors the parameters admitted in the network's entry point to guarantee quality of service of connections already admitted. Upon detecting traffic that violates the negotiated parameter, it takes the necessary control measures to prevent congestion. Among these traffic control methods, this paper focuses on the Usage Parameter Control method, and proposes and designs GRACE-LB(Guaranteed Rate Acceptance & Control Element-using Leaky Bucket) which improves upon existing UPC models. GRACE-LB modifies the previous LB model by eliminating the cell buffer, dividing the token Pool into two pools, Long-term pool, Short-term pool, and changing the long-term token generating form using 'Cycle Token' into the same bursty form as the traffic source. Through this, GRACE-LB achieves effective control of the Average Bit Rate(ABR) and burst duration of bursty multimedia traffic which previous LB models found difficult to control. Also, since GRACE-LB can e implemented using only simple operations and there are no cell buffers in it, it has the merit of being easily installed at any place.

Prediction of Setting Time of Concrete Using Fly Ash and Super Retarding Agent (초지연제 및 플라이애쉬를 사용한 콘크리트의 응결시간 예측)

  • This paper presents a method to estimate the setting time of concrete using super retarding agent(SRA) and fly ash(FA) under various curing temperature conditions by applying maturity based on equivalent age. To estimate setting time, the equivalent age using apparent activation energy($E_a$) was applied. Increasing SRA content and decreasing curing temperature leads to retard initial and final set markedly. $E_a$ at the initial set and final set obtained by Arrhenius function showed differences in response to mixture type. It is estimated to be from $24{\sim}35KJ/mol$ in all mixtures, which is smaller than that of conventional mixture ranging from $30{\sim}50KJ/mol$. Based on the application of $E_a$ to Freisleben-Hansen and Pederson's equivalent age function, equivalent age is nearly constant, regardless of curing temperature and SRA contents. This implies that the concept of maturity is applicable in estimating the setting time of concrete containing SRA. A high correlation between estimated setting time and measured setting time is observed. Multi-regression model to determine appropriate dosage of SRA reflecting FA contents and equivalent age was provided. Thus, the setting time estimation method studied herein can be applicable to the concrete containing SRA and FA in construction fields.

  • The purpose of this research is to confirm how the determinant factors for shopping mall selection (proximity, parking facility, benefits, mutual interaction effects, physical environment, surroundings) affect attractiveness (image and appraisal) of the traditional markets and revisit intention and suggest strategic methods for revitalization of the traditional markets. Results of this research are drawn from a survey of customers who visit any of the twenty-two traditional markets in the Seoul area at least twice a week. Moreover, the theory is verified through the structural equation model analysis using the SPSS win 18.0 and AMOS 18 version statistics package. From the determinant factors of visiting traditional markets, parking facility, physical environment, and the surroundings were significant in image attractiveness; benefits, mutual interaction effects, and physical environment showed significant effects on appraisal attractiveness. Additionally, image attractiveness was not significantly influential in retention proneness while appraisal attractiveness was a key factor in deciding whether or not to revisit. Therefore, improvement in image is important but appraisal aspects like product reliability that customers can personally assess, are more essential for revitalization of traditional markets.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of browning inhibitors during fermentation and storage of rice-grape wine. Bentonite, polyvinylopolypyrrolidone (PVPP), and potassium metabisulfite were added to rice-grape wine during fermentation and storage in order to find an effective method of inhibiting browning. Total phenolics content, pH, amino acidity, hydroxymethylfurfural content, and absorbance at 420 nm were measured during storage to assess the effects of the different browning substrates. Potassium metabisulfite was the most effective browning inhibitior. Sensory evaluation also showed that rice-grape wine treated with potassium metabisulfite was highly Preferable in terms of color, taste, flavor, and overall quality.

  • By comparing Wiener's MMSE on stochastic signal transmission with Shannon's mutual information first proved by C.E. Shannon in terms of information theory, connections between two approaches were investigated. What Wiener wanted to see in signal transmission in noisy channel is to try to capture fundamental limits for signal quality in signal estimation. On the other hands, Shannon was interested in finding fundamental limits of signal quantity that maximize the uncertainty in mutual information using the entropy concept in noisy channel. First concern of this paper is to show that in deriving limits of Shannon's point to point fundamental channel capacity, Shannon's mutual information obtained by exploiting MMSE combiner and Wiener filter's MMSE are interelated by integro-differential equantion. Then, At the meeting point of Wiener's MMSE and Shannon's mutual information the upper bound of spectral efficiency and the lower bound of energy efficiency were computed. Choosing a proper lattice-type code of a mod-${\Lambda}$AWGN channel model and MMSE estimation of ${\alpha}$ confirmed to lead to the fundamental Shannon capacity limits.

  • 유기농산물은 질 좋은 농산물이며 그 생산농법이 환경친화적인 것으로 이해하고 있어 참여농가수도 증가일로에 있고 소비자들에 의한 유기농산물 구입 역시 점차 증가 추세에 있으나, 한국유기농업은 국제적 유기농업에 다르게 잘못 정의된 채 확산되고 있어, 그 핵심기술의 환경영향평가의 과학화에 대한 시대적 요청과 유기농업 기본규약 제정 필요성이 학계 일부에서 제기 되고 있는 등 한국유기농업은 최근 발전을 위한 진통을 겪고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 한국유기농업이 태동된 배경과 70년대 말로부터 80년대 초에 걸쳐 태생된 한국유기농업이 국민적 관심을 얻게된 배경과 정농회, 한국유기농업협회, 한국자연농업협회, 한 살림 등의 유기농업단체와 한국유기농업학회, 환경보전형농업생산소비단체협의회, 흙살림연구소 등의 발전과정 및 활동을 소개하고 있다. 또한 서울에서 개최된 IFOAM Asia대회, 한국자연농업협회의“자연농업연구소”, 한국유기농업협회의“건강과 자연농업”등에 관해서 뿐만 아니라 우리 정부의 21세기를 향한 농림환경정책중 유기농업부문에 대한 각종 장기지원책, 즉 중소농대책의 일환의 유기-자연농업 지원책, 유기농산물에 대한 품질인증제 및 팔당상수원보호구역내 유기농업지원 등이 소개되고 있다. 한편 한국유기농업기술의 핵심내용이었던 유기질비료 과다시용 문제가“유기농산물 채소의 고 질산염 함량”으로 촉발된 식품안정성 논쟁 후에 유기질비료의 추천시용량이 다다익선적 개념에서 80t/㏊으로 낮아졌다가 다시 50t/㏊으로 낮아졌으며 1996년 6월부터는 20t/㏊로 크게 낮추어 졌음을 보고하고 있다. 또한 일부 선도적 유기독농가의 경험적 기술이 토대가 되어 성립된 현 유기농업기술은 과학적 기술검증을 거쳐야 함과 퇴비사용 만으로 실시하는 현 유기농업 기술에 의해 야기되는 근권내 질산 미치 인산염 집적을 회피하기 위해서는 윤작, 녹비작물 및 두과작물의 재배로 토양비옥도 향상을 통한 유기농업 기술 개발이 필요하며 IFOAM 기본규약과 FAO/WHO Codex의 핵심 내용을 수용하는 한국유기농업 기본규약 제정이 제정이 절실히 요구됨을 강조하고 있다. 마지막으로 한국유기농업의 핵심기술에 대한 환경영향평가와 기본규약제정 필요성을 역설하고 한국유기농업의 과학화와 질 좋은 유기농산물 생산을 위해 노력하고 있는 소비자 문제를 연구하는 시민의 모임 등 몇몇 단체들의 최근 활동이 언급되고 유기농업에 대한 농과대학내 연구와 강의 등이 소개되었다.

An Empirical Comparison of Predictability of Ranking-based and Choice-based Conjoint Analysis (순위기반 컨조인트분석과 선택기반 컨조인트분석의 예측력에 대한 실증적 비교)

  • Ranking-based conjoint analysis(RBCA) and choice-based conjoint analysis(CBCA) have attracted significant interest in various fields such as marketing research. When conducting research, the researcher has to select one suitable approach in consideration of strengths and weaknesses. This article performs an empirical comparison of the predictability of RBCA and CBCA in order to provide criterion for the selection. A new concept of measurement set is developed by combining the ranking set and choice set. The measurement set enables us to apply two approaches separately on the same consumer group that allows a fair comparison of predictability. RBCA and CBCA are conducted on consumer preferences for RTD-coffee; subsequently, the predicted values of market shares and hit rates are compared. The study result reveals that their predictabilities are not significantly different. Further, the result indicates that RBCA is recommended if the researcher wants to improve data quality by filtering out poor responses or to implement the market segmentation. In contrast, CBCA is recommended if the researcher wants to lessen the burden on the respondents or to measure preferences under similar conditions with the actual marketplace.

  • This study examines the concepts of counter-act against the Bio-terrorism and the reaction system in advanced countries, thereby to find out reaction system necessary to Korea. Acts on anti-Bio-terrorism is divided to detection stage, protection stage, diagnosis stage and detoxication and neutralization stage according to flow of event occurrence. As for detection stage, Korea is developing it as contact type, while advanced countries are under development of the devices that may detect the terrorism from the remote distance. It is necessary for Korea to develop the remote-distant detection system as well as the contact type of device that may promptly operate. Among the protection gears, the quality of Korea's gas mask is recognized worldwide, but that of other outfits should be improved by applying the state-of-art science technology. The diagnosis device also should be developed to the extent that the dispatched initial action team may make immediate decisions necessary in the field. As the current trends for detoxication materials worldwide require the improvement to new materials harmless to human body and equipment, Korea is also required to acquire those materials. The technology for neutralization means the development of vaccine and antibiotics and it requires the development made by shared efforts worldwide. For this purpose, it is necessary to further develop Korea's medical technology. In addition, the further efforts are required in terms of reaction manual, training model, public communication efforts and preparation for trauma syndrome.

Application of HACCP for Hygiene Control in University Foodservice Facility - Focused on Vegetable Dishes (Sengchae and Namul) - (대학급식시설의 위생관리개선을 위한 HACCP 적용에 관한 연구 - 생.숙채류를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microbiological quality, and to assure the hygienic safety of the food production in the university food service facility located in Seoul in accordance with the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point(HACCP) concepts. In the hygienic state assessment of kitchen, it has revealed that it was very important to remove water from the kitchen floor and to establish standard method for disinfection of cooking utensils. And foodservice workers were required to have training program for the safe handling of food and utensils since they did treat food without hygienic gloves. The kitchen layout had to be improved because the near distance of table with heating unit and shelf might cause the growth of microorganisms when prepared food was kept on the shelf. In terms of the timetemperature measurement and microbiological quality assessment during each of the food production phases, most of sengchae (raw vegetable dish) and namul (cooked vegetable dish) were treated within danger zone for food safeness ($5~60^{\circ}C$). It has shown that the microbiological quality of raw materials was very much inferior at the time of receiving based on the TPC($10^{5}~10^{7}$), coliform($10^{3}~1O^{6}$), which was not acceptable level(TPC:$10^{6}$, coliform:$10^{3}$) suggested by Solberg. Microbiological growth has increased in the both of sengchae and namul considerably during most of food production phase. Therefore, it is extremely important to reduce holding and serving time and to avoid treating food within the danger zone for food safeness. In addition, the prevention of cross-contamination during mixing the ingredients with improper equipments and with insanitary treatments by workers was also important to keep the food safety in this speciqic university foodservice facility.

A Study on the Relationship between Marketing Activities and Brand Equity in Nonprofit Organizations : Focused on the Donation Market of Charitable Organizations (비영리조직의 마케팅 활동과 브랜드 자산 간 관계에 관한 연구: 자선모금기관의 기부시장(donation market)을 중심으로)

  • This study explores the relationship between marketing activities and brand equity in nonprofit organizations, specifically investigating the relational linkage between four selected marketing mix elements and brand equity through the mediating role of brand equity dimensions. Employing a structural equation model, the study empirically tests research hypotheses and finds some important implication for brand equity creation strategies for nonprofits. The results show that brand association is the only dimension that is positively related to brand equity, reflecting the current donation market in Korea where nonprofits have such a low presence that donors have little knowledge and chance to identify their brands and to build trust relationships with them. Furthermore, the results highlight the importance and roles of promotion and process marketing efforts, as they are proved to enhance brand association. The study also finds that promotion is positively related to brand awareness and process contributes to perceived quality and brand loyalty. Based on these findings, the study suggest that nonprofits make further efforts on active promotion and process development to create positive, differentiated images and better accessibility, and finally improve their brand equity.
