웹 환경에서 사용되고 있는 데이터의 종류는 텍스트뿐만 아니라 멀티미디어 데이터까지 다양하게 사용되어 지고 있다. 그러나 오디오, 이미지, 비디오와 같은 미디어 객체들은 2진화, 비구조화 되어 있으므로 기계 번역이 용이하지 않다. 이런 비정형화 된 비디오 데이터에 대한 검색을 효율적으로 처리하기 위해서는 비디오의 논리적 구조와 의미적 내용을 표현할 수 있어야 한다. 멀티미디어 데이터의 메타 데이터를 표현하기 위해서 XML 문서를 이용하여 표현하고, 표현된 문서를 효율적으로 검색 할 수 있도록 설계하였다.

본 논문에서는 고유영상 추출에 기반을 둔 동물표현의 수화인식 기법을 제안하였다. 여기서는 영상으로부터 구조적 특징을 효과적으로 추출하기 위하여 PCA를 이용한 방법을 제안한다. 이는 선형투영 및 차원의 감소에 따른 계산부하의 감소로 인식시간을 줄이기 위함이다. 제안된 기법을 10종류의 240*215 픽셀 동물표현의 수화(160개 : 1명*10종류*16동작)영상을 대상으로 City-block의 분류척도를 이용하여 실험한 결과 우수한 인식성능이 있음을 확인하였다.

This study aims to develop a 3D map which allows users to better understand the overall topography and to memorize the general concepts of the current location for tourists. The Map also utilizes different forms and color codes of the block units in the panoramic view. First, in preparation for making the road block unit, 28 types of roads presented in common map were defined. Based on the definitions, 12 dominant groups were formed. In designing each form, visual correlation was considered. Second, 42 types of terrain features presented in normal maps were defined for making the panoramic block unit. Then, 2 dominant groups, each contains 5 subgroups, were made according to the assemble pattern and the size of area. On the basis of the grouped units, the panoramic block units were produced with 3D pole line graphics maintaining integration. Lastly, each panoramic block units were categorized by color classes such as blue, green, gray and brown class. The overall color combination of the work was evaluated as well harmonized since the Moon&Spencer's Aesthetic measure value exceeds 0.5.

The multivaiate empirical distribution function (MEDF) is defined in this work. The MEDF's expectation and variance are derived and we have shown the MEDF converges to its real distribution function. Based on random samples from bivariate standard normal distribution with various correlation coefficients, we also obtain MEDFs and propose two kinds of graphical methods to visualize MEDFs on two dimensional plane. One is represented with at most n stairs with similar arguments as the step function, and the other is described with at most n curves which look like bivariate quantile vector. Even though these two descriptive methods could be expressed with three dimensional space, two dimensional representation is obtained with ease and it is enough to explain characteristics of bivariate distribution functions. Hence, it is possible to visualize trivariate empirical distribution functions with three dimensional quantile vectors. With bivariate and four variate illustrative examples, the proposed MEDFs descriptive plots are obtained and explored.

Techniques for processing continuous queries are required to developing the various types of application services (monitoring services) in ubiquitous environment where the real-time data acquisition from a lot of sensors, analysis, and processing are required. In the previous works of the continuous queries, they have represented all of the continuous queries as the interval queries or region queries, and proposed some methods for processing theses queries. The types of continuous queries, however, are very various, and could be presented by combining the attribute conditions, spatial conditions, and temporal conditions. In this paper, I have classify the types of continuous queries, and have proposed the continuous query model which could be presented by combining those conditions. The contributions of this paper include that it proposes the query model representing the continuous queries and suggests future research directions.

이 세상의 모든 저작물은 기본적으로 아이디어와 표현의로 구성되어 있다. 교육용 소프트웨어, 게임 소프트웨어, 영화 등 디지털콘텐츠도 예외는 아니다. 저작물에서 Idea와 표현을 구별하는 것은 소송에서 피고에 의해 복제된 부분이 저작권을 침해 했는가를 판단하는데 있어서 매우 중요하다. 그 이유는 저작권법이 표현을 보호하고 Idea 는 보호하지 않기 대문이다. 미야자키하야오의 감독의 최근 애니메이션인 "하울의 움직이는 성"에서 어떤 부분이 Idea이며 또 표현인지를 정확히 구분하기란 대단히 어려운 일이다. 19세 소녀가 미녀의 저주에 결려 90세 할머니로 변해 미녀들의 심장을 먹고 산다는 하울의 움직이는 성에 들어가 격는 모험, 사랑, 마법 등 플롯(plot)은 과연 Idea일까, 아니면 표현일까? 이하에서는 Idea와 표현 2분법을 저작권법의 기본 원리로서 둔 법정책적 근거에 대해 살펴보고, 문학,미술,음악, 컴퓨터프로그램 등 다양한 종류의 저작물에 있어서 Idea와 표현은 무엇이며 또 어떻게 식별할 수 있는지 몇가지 사례를 통해 알아 보도록 하겠다.

지난 수 십년 간 컴퓨터는 구조설계에 있어서 그 이용이 증가하고 있다. 구조설계를 위한 컴퓨터 시스템을 개발하기 위해서는 먼저 구조설계에 관련된 정보와 작업을 정형화한 표현이 필요하다. 본 논문은 구조설계에서 설계정보와 설계작업의 이해와 표현이 어려운 분야의 하나인 시스템설계에 대하여 논하고 있으며, 빌딩 프레임구조물의 시스템 설계정보를 표현하는 한 방법을 기술하고 있다. 3차원 공간을 표시하기 위하여 기준평면과 그리드 라인을 정의하였으며, 빌딩 프레임구조물의 시스템을 프레임 서브시스템, 플로어 서브시스템, 시스템요소 기둥의 세 종류의 요소로 분해하였다. 시스템요소 기둥은 프레임의 요소가 아니고, 시스템의 요소이다. 시스템 설계정보를 표현하기 위한 이와 같은 방법을 개체형 통합설계모델의 표기법을 이용하여 표시하였다. 개체형 통합설계모델은 설계정보와 설계작업을 표현하기 위하여 각각 프로덕트 개체와 프로세스 개체를 이용한다. 시스템 설계정보를 위하여 본 논문에서 정의한 프로덕트 개체들은 정형화된 시스템 설계정보를 표현하는데, 이것은 구조설계 CAD 시스템 개발에 유용하다.
