Development of Close Range Photogrammetric Model for Measuring the Size of Objects (피사체의 크기 측정을 위한 근접사진측량모델 개발)

  • This study is on the development of photogrammetric methode for measuring the size of object without control points. The model is composed of interior orientation parameters, which are consist of specifications of CCD camera and lens distortion parameters, and exterior orientation parameters, which are calculated through relative orientation and scale adjustment. We evaluated the accuracy of the model to find that it is possible to measure the size of object using the model.

  • As for comics and animation, the specific gravity came to become still larger in all the art fields together with the importance in various image media now which is useful and goes the time of the 21st century new media. Especially the demand of users to the vision culture which develops day by day, Sensitivity Engineering Department is trying to realize the necessity for a sensitivity design acutely together. The influence of the comics which have toxicity most also in Japanese culture in a geographical position like South Korea on it, and animation is the actual condition in the reason which has reached from youth universally to the layer for years, to be inquired systematic to a Korean comics language. This reserch was conducted as we thought sufficient study on various situations are required, and among them, for the reserch of expressions of cartoons's characters, we've divided the expressions of characters that comes out in Japanese cartoons into catagories of "happiness, anger, sadness, pleasure" and "fear, astonishment and dislike" and based on these catagories, we've drawn out the minimum elements to express emotions in cartoon and prepared image-map by relating them with languages that express emotions of people and based on this, we've made a calculating tools on how our readers would read the expression languages. Samples of Japanese cartoons of which we've chosen for the purpose of drawing out the elements of expressions were limited to only published cartoons and we've made a foot steps for expression analysis of animation characters in the future.

Synthesis of Realistic Facial Expression using a Nonlinear Model for Skin Color Change (비선형 피부색 변화 모델을 이용한 실감적인 표정 합성)

  • Facial expressions exhibit not only facial feature motions, but also subtle changes in illumination and appearance. Since it is difficult to generate realistic facial expressions by using only geometric deformations, detailed features such as textures should also be deformed to achieve more realistic expression. The existing methods such as the expression ratio image have drawbacks, in that detailed changes of complexion by lighting can not be generated properly. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear model for skin color change and a model-based synthesis method for facial expression that can apply realistic expression details under different lighting conditions. The proposed method is composed of the following three steps; automatic extraction of facial features using active appearance model and geometric deformation of expression using warping, generation of facial expression using a model for nonlinear skin color change, and synthesis of original face with generated expression using a blending ratio that is computed by the Euclidean distance transform. Experimental results show that the proposed method generate realistic facial expressions under various lighting conditions.

Analysis of Perceptual Hierarchy for Facial Feature Point (얼굴 특징점의 지각적 위계구조 분석)

  • 표정인식 시스템을 구현하기 위해서는 어떠한 얼굴 특징점이 특정한 내적상태와 밀접한 관련이 있는가를 알아야한다. 이를 위해 MPEG-4 FDP 중 39개의 얼굴 특징점을 사용하여 쾌-불쾌 및 각성-수면의 내적상태와 얼굴 특징요소간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 연극배우들의 다양한 표정연기 사진 150장으로부터, 5개의 필터 크기와 8개의 필터 방위로 구성된 Gator wavelet을 사용하여 39개의 특징점을 중심으로 영상처리 하였다. 이들 특징점의 필터 반응 값과 내적상태의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 내적상태의 쾌-불쾌 차원은 주로 입과 눈썹 주변의 특징점과 밀접한 관련이 있었고, 각성-수면 차원은 주로 눈 주변의 특징점과 밀접한 관련이 있었다. 필터의 크기는 주로 저역 공간빈도 필터가 내적상태와 관련이 있었고, 필터의 방위는 주로 비스듬한 사선 방위가 내적상태와 관련이 있었다.

Facial Expression Recognition using Model-based Feature Extraction in Image Sequence (동영상에서의 모델기반 특징추출을 이용한 얼굴 표정인식)

  • 본 논문에서는 ASM(Active Shape Model)과 상태 기반 모델을 사용하여 동영상으로부터 얼굴 표정을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. ASM을 이용하여 하나의 입력영상에 대한 얼굴요소 특징점들을 정합하고 그 과정에서 생성되는 모양 파라미터 벡터를 추출한다. 동영상에 대해 추출되는 모양 파라미터 벡터 집합을 세 가지상태 중 한 가지를 가지는 상태 벡터로 변환하고 분류기를 통해 얼굴의 표정을 인식한다. 분류단계에서는 분류성능을 높이기 위해 새로운 개체 기반 학습 방법을 제안한다. 실험에서는 새로이 제안한 개체 기반 학습 방법이 KNN 분류기보다 더 좋은 인식률을 나타내는 것을 보인다.

Research on Micro-Movement Responses of Facial Muscles by Intimacy, Empathy, Valence (친밀도, 공감도, 긍정도에 따른 얼굴 근육의 미세움직임 반응 차이)

  • Facial expression is important factor on social interaction. Facial muscle movement provides emotion information to develop social network. However, facial movement has less determined to recognize social emotion. This study is to analyze facial micro-movements and to recognize the social emotion such as intimacy, empathy, and valence. 76 university students were presented to the stimuli for social emotions and was measure their facial expression using camera. As a results, facial micro-movement. showed significant difference of social emotion. After extracting the movement amount of 3 unconscious muscles and 18 conscious muscles, Dominant Frequency band was confirmed. While muscle around the nose and cheek showed significant difference in the intimacy, one around mouth did in the empathy and one around jaw in the valence. The results proposed new facial movement to express social emotion in virtual avatars and to recognize social emotion.

Optimization of Deep Learning Model Based on Genetic Algorithm for Facial Expression Recognition (얼굴 표정 인식을 위한 유전자 알고리즘 기반 심층학습 모델 최적화)

  • Deep learning shows outstanding performance in image and video analysis, such as object classification, object detection and semantic segmentation. In this paper, it is analyzed that the performances of deep learning models can be affected by characteristics of train dataset. It is proposed as a method for selecting activation function and optimization algorithm of deep learning to classify facial expression. Classification performances are compared and analyzed by applying various algorithms of each component of deep learning model for CK+, MMI, and KDEF datasets. As results of simulation, it is shown that genetic algorithm can be an effective solution for optimizing components of deep learning model.

  • Acoustic emission (AE) technique has been applied to not only mechanical property testing but also on-line monitoring of the el)tire structure or a limit zone only. Although several AE devices have already been developed for the on-line monitoring, the price of these systems is very high and it is difficult for the field to apply yet. In this study, wc developed a specially designed PC-based source location system using the A/D board. The source location technique is very important to identify the source, such as crack, leak detection. However, since the AE waveforms obtained from transducers are very difficult to distinguish the defect signals, therefore, it is necessary to consider the signal analyses of the transient waveform. Wavelet Transform (WT) is a powerful tool for processing transient signals with temporally varying spectra that helps to resolve high and low frequency transients components effectively In this study, the analyses of the AE signals are presented by employing the WT analyses. AE results are compared the PC-based source location system using A/D board with the commercial AE system.

  • 최근 아날로그 항공사진카메라는 디지털방식으로 급속히 변화하고 있어 이에 따른 다양한 실험연구가 수행되고 있다. 디지털 카메라는 CCD의 구조와 촬영방식에 따라 크게 면형방식(area array)과 선형방식(line array)으로 구분되며 기술적으로 서로 상이한 원리로 영상을 취득하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 블록 조정에 횡스트립을 추가하여 블록 조정하였을 때 안정성에 얼마나 큰 영향이 있는지 알아보았다. 본 논문은 촬영시 추가한 횡스트립이 블록기하의 안정성에 미치는 영향을 검증하기 위하여 블록조정 결과에 따른 외부표정요소의 정확도를 비교 분석하였다. 연구결과 횡스트립을 추가하였을 때는 외부표정요소의 정확도가 크게 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 향후 디지털 카메라에 의한 촬영시 적절한 중복도와 횡스트립의 배치간격 등에 대한 연구가 계속해서 이루어져야 될 것으로 판단된다.

  • 최근 고해상력을 가진 줌 렌즈 CCD(Charge Coupled Device) 카메라가 출시되면서 디지털 영상을 쉽게 취득할 수 있게 되어 일상적인 활용에서부터 컴퓨터 시각(computer vision)이나 사진측량과 같은 전문적인 분야에 이르기까지 다양하게 응용할 수 있는 계기가 마련되고 있다. 현재 상용되고 있는 일반 줌 렌즈 CCD 카메라는 영상을 취득하는 데 많은 장점을 갖고 있으나 실제 영상 취득과정에서 다양한 줌의 이동으로 인하여 표정요소계산 및 카메라 렌즈 오차검정에 상당한 어려움이 발생하여 이에 대한 연구가 진행되어오고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존에 비측량용 카메라에서 취득된 영상을 해석하는 기법으로 사진측량 분야에서 사용되어온 DLT(Direct Linear Transformation) 모델식과 컴퓨터 시각(computer vision)분야에서 카메라 검정 및 3차원 복원에 사용되고 있는 Tsai 모델식을 도입ㆍ적용하여 표정요소계산 및 3차원 복원정확도를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 Tsai 모델식에 의한 결과가 DLT 모델식에 의한 결과보다 정확도 및 안정성면에서 향상된 결과를 보여주고 있어서 Tsai 모델식에 대한 사용이 기대된다.
