The influence of titania nanorods with an average diameter of 10 nm and an average length of 30 nm on the electrohydrodynamic instability of block copolymer (polystyrene-b-poly(2-vinylpyridine)) thin film was investigated in this article. The presence of titania nanorods increased the dielectric constant of the film, which resulted in a systematic reduction in the wavelength of the surface instability. Cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy analysis indicated that the migration/aggregation of titania nanorods did not occur as a result of the applied electric field. This work can provide a simple route to the pattern formation using electrohydrodynamic instability with an aid of nanoparticles.

In this study, $SiO_2/poly(ethylene-co-vinyl$ alcohol)(EVOH) hybrid coating materials with gas barrier property could be produced using sol-gel method. The biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) substrate with surface pretreatment was coated with the prepared hybrid sols containing various inorganic silicate component by a spin coating method. Crystallization behavior of the hybrids was investigated in terms of analysis of X-ray diffraction and cooling thermogram from DSC experiment. From the morphological observation of the $SiO_2/EVOH$ hybrid gel, it was confirmed that there existed an optimum content of inorganic silicate precursor, Tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS), to produce hybrid materials with dense microstructure, exhibiting uniformly dispersed silica particles with average size below 100 nm. When TEOS was added at below or above the optimum content, particle clusters with large domain were observed, resulting in phase separation. This morphological result was found to be in good agreement with that of oxygen permeability of the hybrid coated films. In the case of film coated with hybrid prepared from addition of 0.01 - 0.02mol of TEOS, a remarkable improvement in barrier property could be obtained, however, with the addition of TEOS more than 0.04 mol, the barrier property was dramatically reduced because of phase separation and micro-crack formation on the film surface.
While in the process of electroless plating of dendrite-shape copper with silver, various silver-coated copper (Ag@Cu) particles were prepared by using both displacement plating and reducing electroless plating. The physicochemical properties of Ag@Cu particles were analyzed by scanning electron microscope- energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis (BET), and it was confirmed that the silver coated by the reducing electroless plating was formed as nano-particles on the copper surface. Ag@Cu particles were compounded with an epoxy resin to prepare a conductive film, and its thermal stability was evaluated. We investigated the effect of the difference between the displacement plating and reducing electroless plating on the initial resistance and thermal stability of conductive films.
In this study, we made UV cured acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive containing silicone-urethane-acrylate (SUA) oligomer for a coating on protective film and investigated the effect of SUA oligomer content and UV-dose on adhesion properties. The results illustrated that peel strength decreases with increasing oligomer content and UV-dose, while holding power increases. The gel fractions sharply increased after UV irradiation and then remain constant with prolonged UV exposure. From peel-off test, sample S70 (70% oligomer content) shows the best peelability and removability without remaining any mark or adhesive material on the test substrate than S50 (50% oligomer content) and S60 (60% oligomer content). Sample S70 also showed a surface energy lower than $26mJ/m^2$ and a transmittance higher than 95% at UV-dose 1857 and $2270mJ/cm^2$ which met the required properties for protective film application.

There have been numerous experimental studies for heat transfer measurement technique. This study investigates optical methods for measuring local heat transfer coefficient using thermochromic liquid crystal. Transient and steady methods have been utilized to measure local heat transfer coefficient on a cylinder with a cross flow. The steady method is based on the heat-coating technique and two transient methods adopt by-pass technique and insertion technique, respectively. Both techniques of transient method employ heating technique in which the flow is heated by using the electric heater and cooling technique which cools the preheated cylinder. Experimental results indicate that each methods have nearly similar results. Detailed discussions have been made for its own advantages and disadvantages.
SiO2/Ag core-shell nanoparticles were synthesized by combining modified Stöber process and reverse micelle method using acetoxime as a reducing agent in water/dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DDBA)/cyclohexane reverse micells. The SiO2/Ag core-shells were studied for structure, morphology and size using UV-visible spectroscopy, XRD, SEM and TEM. The size of a SiO2/Ag core-shell could be controlled by changing the [water]/[DDBA] molar ratio (WR) values. The size and the polydispersity of SiO2/Ag core-shells increased with increase of the WR value. The resultant Ag nanoparticles exhibit a strong surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak at 430 nm over the amorphous SiO2 nanoparticles. The SPR peak shifted to the red side with increase in nanoparticle size. Conductive pastes with 70 wt% SiO2/Ag core-shell were prepared, and the pastes were coated on the PET films using a screen-printing method. The printed paste film of the SiO2/Ag core-shell showed higher surface resistance than the commercial Ag paste in the range of 460~750 µΩ/sq.
Core-shell TiO2/Ag nanoparticles were synthesized by a modified sol-gel process and the reverse micelle method using acetoxime as a reducing agent in water/dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DDBA)/cyclohexane. The structure, shape, and size of the TiO2/Ag nanoparticles were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The size of TiO2/Ag nanoparticles could be controlled by changing the [water]/[DDBA] molar ratio values. The size and the polydispersity of TiO2/Ag nanoparticles increased when the [water]/[DDBA] molar ratio rose. The resultant Ag nanoparticles over the anatase crystal TiO2 nanoparticles exhibited a strong surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak at about 430 nm. The SPR peak shifted to the red side with the increase in nanoparticle size. Conductive pastes with 70 wt% TiO2/Ag nanoparticles were prepared, and the pastes were coated on the PET films using a screen-printing method. The printed paste films of the TiO2/Ag nanoparticles demonstrated greater surface resistance than conventional Ag paste in the range of 405~630 μΩ/sq.

For this research, prepared ammonium dihydrogen phosphate aqueous solution and polyurethane dispersion. Use these resin, this article has been analyzed about change of mechanical properties by increasing amount of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate aqueous solution in polyurethan resin on coated leather and dried film. According to measure data for solvent resistance, DPU(polyurethane dispersion) resin and DPU-AD1, D2, D3(samples of polyurethaneresin with ammonium dihydrogen phosphate aqueous solution) had good property. As known in the results, increase of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate constant did not influence to big change of polyurethane resin properties. As test of tensile strength, DPU had highest tensile characteristic($3.114kg_f/mm^2$) and DPU-AD3 had lowest tensile characteristic($2.510kg_f/mm^2$). As same as tensile characteristic, abrasion test determined DPU(50.5 mg.loss) had highest properties. In elongation case, DPU had best properties(602 %) in this experiment.

In recent years, nano-structured thin film systems are often applied in industries such as MEMS/NEMS device, optical coating, semiconductor or like this. Thin films are used for many and varied purpose to provide resistance to abrasion, erosion, corrosion, or high temperature oxidation and also to provide special magnetic or dielectric properties. Quite a number of articles to evaluate the characterization of thin film structure such as film density, film grain size, film elastic properties, and film/substrate interface condition were reported. Among them, the evaluation of film adhesive to substrate has been of great interest. In this study, we fabricated the polymeric thin film system with different adhesive conditions to evaluate the adhesive condition of the thin film. The nano-structured thin film system was fabricated by spin coating method. And then V(z) curve technique was applied to evaluate adhesive condition of the interface by measuring the surface acoustic wave(SAW) velocity by scanning acoustic microscope(SAM). Furthermore, a nano-scratch technique was applied to the systems to obtain correlations between the velocity of the SAW propagating within the system including the interface and the shear adhesive force. The results show a good correlation between the SAW velocities measured by acoustic spectroscope and the critical load measured by the nano-scratch test. Consequently, V(z) curve method showed potentials for characterizing the adhesive conditions at the interface by acoustic microscope.
Bacteria grow biofilm on various surface such as separation membrane, food packaging film and biomedical device. Growth of biofilm is associated with the formation of a complex structure of exopolysaccharides. Effect of antibacterial effect reduce drastically once the biofilm developed due to the difficulties in mass transport of antimicrobial agent. In order to enhance the antibacterial activity, surface of the membrane is modified, coated or immobilized with functional materials with biocidal properties. One of the idea is to introduce positive charge on the membrane surface by the presence of quaternary ammonium group which might displace divalent metal ion such as magnesium or calcium present in the bacteria cell wall. Efficacy of cell membrane disruption depends on the mobility of the agents available directly on the surface environment. In this review, various biocidal agents like quaternary ammonium group, helamine or zwitter ion containing membrane are discussed.
