생체의료용 다공성 타이타늄 특성평가 및 표면제어 연구

  • 인체의 뼈와 같은 손상된 경조직을 치료 또는 대체하기위한 정형외과용 임플란트를 설계하는데 있어 뼈의 생체역학적 특성과 유사한 성질을 갖는 다공성 지지체에 대한 연구가 최근 관심을 끌고 있다. 다공성 지지체는 조직이 원활히 재생될 수 있어야 하며, 또한 주변 조직과도 생물학적인 고착이 잘 되도록 기공들이 상호 연결된 구조를 가져야 한다. 이와 같은 다공성 지지체용 소재를 제조하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 타이타늄 분말을 사용하여 3차원 적층조형공정으로 다공성 타이타늄 지지체를 제조하였다. 제조된 다공체의 물성 및 기계적 특성을 평가하기 위하여 압축시험과 변형해석을 수행하였으며, 아울러 제조된 지지체의 생체적합성 향상을 위하여 양극산화 공정 등의 표면처리를 수행하여 그에 대한 특성을 평가하였다. 분말야금 공정으로 제조된 지지체는 골조직의 성장에 적합한 약 $300\sim400{\mu}m$의 기공 크기를 갖도록 제어하였고, 기공도는 60~75%로 제어하였다. 아울러 다공성 타이타늄의 생체적합성을 부여하기 위하여 양극산화공정으로 지지체의 표면에 Ca 및 P을 포함하는 산화층을 형성시키는 표면처리를 수행하였다. 양극산화공정에 의하여 표면에 미세기공을 포함하는 산화층을 형성시킬 수 있었으나 이와 같은 표면구조는 조골세포의 부착과 영향에는 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 확인되었다.

Effects of PCB Surface Finishes on in-situ Intermetallics Growth and Electromigration Characteristics of Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu Pb-free Solder Joints (PCB 표면처리에 따른 Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu 무연솔더 접합부의 in-situ 금속간 화합물 성장 및 Electromigration 특성 분석)

  • The effects of electroless nickel immersion gold (ENIG) and organic solderability preservative (OSP) surface finishes on the in-situ intermetallics reaction and the electromigration (EM) reliability of Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu (SAC305) solder bump were systematically investigated. After as-bonded, $(Cu,Ni)_6Sn_5$ intermetallic compound (IMC) was formed at the interface of the ENIG surface finish at solder top side, while at the OSP surface finish at solder bottom side,$ Cu_6Sn_5$ and $Cu_3Sn$ IMCs were formed. Mean time to failure on SAC305 solder bump at $130^{\circ}C$ with a current density of $5.0{\times}10^3A/cm^2$ was 78.7 hrs. EM open failure was observed at bottom OSP surface finish by fast consumption of Cu atoms when electrons flow from bottom Cu substrate to solder. In-situ scanning electron microscope analysis showed that IMC growth rate of ENIG surface finish was much lower than that of the OSP surface finish. Therefore, EM reliability of ENIG surface finish was higher than that of OSP surface finish due to its superior barrier stability to IMC reaction.

Deterioration Mechanism Interpretation and Surface Contaminant Analysis of the Five-Storied Stone Pagoda in Tapriri, Uiseong (의성 탑리리 오층석탑의 표면오염물 분석 및 손상메커니즘 해석)

  • The Uiseong Tapriri Five-Storied Stone Pagoda (National Treasure No. 77) is typical stone cultural heritage in Unified Silla Dynasty, Korea. The pagoda has been occurred black, brown discoloration and microcrack, exfoliation, granularity decomposition with white discoloration because of continuous weathering. As the results of analysis for the contaminants, chemical weatherings are generated that black contaminant by manganese oxide, brown contaminant by iron oxide, white contaminants by gypsum and taranakite. And physical weatherings, such as microcrack, exfoliation, are occurred by salt(gypsum) crystallization. Therefore, these need to remove the contaminants according to the conservation treatment manual, and regular monitoring using P-XRF to preserve long-term the Five-Storied Stone Pagoda at Tapri-ri, Uiseong.

Evaluation of corrosion resistance for plasma ion nitrided austenitic stainless steel in seawater (플라즈마 이온질화 처리된 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강의 해수 내 내식성 평가)

  • 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강의 기계적 특성 향상을 위해 열화학적 표면처리 방법으로 공정 후 재료의 변형이 없고 친환경적인 플라즈마 이온질화 기술이 널리 사용되고 있다. 특히 대략 $450^{\circ}C$이하에서 플라즈마 이온질화 처리 시 S상이라 불리는 expanded austenite 생성에 기인하여 내식성이 향상시키는 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 이전의 연구 결과 증류수, HCl, $H_2SO_4$ 등의 실험 용액에 따라 동일한 공정 온도에 대하여 다른 부식 특성을 나타냈으며, 내식성이 확보되는 온도 또한 다른 결과를 얻었다. 이처럼 적용 환경에 따라 다른 부식 경향을 보이고 있으나, 해양 환경에 사용될 해수에서의 부식 저항성에 대한 명확한 규명은 이루어지지 않고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 해양환경에 보편화되어 있는 오스테나이크계 스테인리스강을 선정하여 다양한 온도에서 플라즈마 이온질화 처리 후 전기화학실험을 통해 온도 변화에 따른 부식 특성을 분석하였다. 플라즈마 이온질화는 25% 질소와 75% 수소의 비율로 $350{\sim}500^{\circ}C$의 온도 조건에서 10시간 동안 처리하였다. 플라즈마 이온질화 처리 후 마이크로 경도 계측과 X-선 회절(X-ray diffraction, XRD) 분석을 통해 온도 변화에 따른 금속 표면에 형성된 질화물의 기계적 조직학적 특성을 분석하였다. 또한 모재 및 다양한 온도에서 플라즈마 이온질화 처리된 재료에 대하여 $2{\times}2cm$(노출면적 $1cm^2$) 시편을 제작하여 전기화학적 부식 실험을 수행하여 부식 특성을 상호 비교 분석하였다. 전기화학적 부식 실험은 침적실험, 동전위 양극 음극 분극 실험을 실시하여 전위 변화에 따른 전류밀도 추이를 분석하여 부식 경향을 파악하였다. 그리고 전기화학 실험 후 손상부의 SEM 관찰과 손상 깊이 분석 및 무게 감소량 계측을 통한 종합적인 분석을 통해 온도-부식 경향의 상관관계를 규명하였다. 또한 분극 실험 후 타펠 외삽법으로 부식전위와 부식전류밀도를 구하여 미처리된 재료 및 플라즈마 이온질화 온도 변화에 따른 상대적 부식 속도를 예측하였다.

  • The effects of $SiO_2$ reactive ion etching (RIE) in $CHF_{3/}C_2F_6$ on the surface properties of the underlying Si substrate were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and secondary ion mass spectrometry(SIMS) techniques. Angle-resolved XPS analysis was carried out as non-destructive depth profile one for investigating the chemical bonding states of silicion, carbon, oxygen and fluorine. The residue layer consists of C-F polymer. O-F bond was found on the top of the polymer layer and Si-O, Si-C and Si-F bonds were detected between Si substrate and polymer film. A 60nm thick damaged layer of silicon surface mainly contains carbon and fluorine.

Effects of Hair Treatment with Shea Butter on Bleached Hair (시어버터가 함유된 헤어트리트먼트가 탈색 모발에 미치는 영향)

  • The current study aimed to find the effects of hair treatment with shea butter on bleached hair and hair protection. The agent for hair treatment with shea butter was developed in different concentration levels (0%,1%,3%,5%) for experimentation. After applying the agent to bleached hair, hair samples were evaluated as follows. Increase in hair thickness was highest in the hair sample that had 5% of shea butter. The amount of amino acids was also highest in the hair sample that contained 5% of shea butter. Comparing the difference of the surface color, hair sample with 5% of shea butter showed low level of L⁎ while the level of a⁎ value that reflects the redness was high and the level of b⁎ value that reflects yellowness was low. Observation through the scanning microscope confirmed the positive effects by showing smoother surfaces in the sample with shea butter than in the bleached hair. This study showed shea butter is considered to be cosmetics to protect damaged hair by bleaching.

  • In this paper, the basic principle, the application and the limitation of Infrared thermography technique to detect defects in different kinds of concrete structures are reviewed. Considered are voids beneath the concrete surface with experiments, delamination between concrete surface and fiber reinforced polymer sheet, the deterioration of steel bars in reinforced concrete, surface defects in historical buildings, pavements, bridges, and railway track graves. As a result, we conclude that infrared thermography methods are useful for fast detecting defects; however, they are influenced by environmental factors, specially temperature. Therefore it is recommended to use the infrared thermography technique with other NDT equipments to expect better result.

Damage Characteristics of Metal Specimens by Formaldehyde (포름알데히드에 의한 금속시편의 손상 특성)

  • The formaldehyde is damage to the metal are known universally. However, the quantification of the damage level and degree of damage is not clear. This study was conducted to test the following steps using a gas corrosion tester, and then evaluated by the optical, chemical and physical measurement. First, it was confirmed the damage level of the metal specimen(silver, copper, iron, lead, brass) by the formaldehyde(0.5, 1, 10, 100, 500ppm). Second, weighted damage to the metal specimens were tested according to the temperature and humidity conditions under damage levels. Third, the damage of accelerated degradation metal specimens were examined under damage levles. As a result, at 500ppm / day, the optical, chemical and physical damage of lead have been identified, the optical damage of all metals are was observed. The optical damage of some specimens were weighted in $25^{\circ}C-50%$, $30^{\circ}C-50%$. Chemical damage to the lead specimen is 2.8 times, 1.3 times were weighted in $30^{\circ}C-80%$, $25^{\circ}C-80%$. Referring to formate ion concentration of the accelerated degradation metal, corrosion products of iron and brass were actived the reaction of the formaldehyde gas, oxide film of lead was blocked the reaction of formaldehyde gas.

  • It is generated for cavitation erosion due to the local static boiling by pressure differentials in high speed rotating fluid environment. The cavitation is influenced by various elements such as pressure, velocity, temperature, pH of fluid and medium. In particular, the damage of material is accelerated due to the electrochemical corrosion by $C1^-$ and cavitation erosion due to cavities in seawater. In this paper, hence, it investigated for martensite stainless steel the damage behavior with applied current density and cavitation time in natural seawater solution. Less damage depth at the cavitation condition was observed than static condition as a result of galvanostatic experiment. Furthermore, it was shown that dramatic increase of weightloss, damage rate and damage depth after 3 hour of cavitation test.

Nondestructive Deterioration Diagnosis for Wooden Ksitigarbha Triad Statues of Shinhungsa Temple in Sokcho, Korea (속초 신흥사 목조지장보살삼존상의 비파괴 손상도 진단)

  • The wooden Ksitigarbha Triad Statues (Treasure No. 1749) of Shinhungsa temple in Sokcho are enshrined in the inside of the Myeonbujeon Hall. The Statues are highly damaged physical weathering which are crack and exfoliation. Also, the Statues were deteriorated by chemical and biological weathering. This study carried out nondestructive method as deterioration map, ultrasonic measurement, X-ray and endoscopy survey for deterioration evaluation and conservation plan. As a result, Ksitigarbha Statue coated by dust and various pollutants. And gold-gilt of Statue's surface has peeled off. Head part of Mudokguiwang Statue was discolored from water leak in Myeongbujeon Hall. Domyeongjonja Statue is highly damaged by insects. Result of endoscopy, there were bee hives in the inside of the Statue. Therefore, we suggest that these Statues have need to do conservation treatment on the basis of diagnostic results.
