Black Body Design and Verification for Non-Uniformity Correction of Imaging Sensor and Uncertainty Analysis (영상센서의 비균일 응답특성 보정을 위한 흑체 설계 및 성능검증과 보정오차 분석)

  • Each pixel of InfraRed(IR) sensor differently responds to IR light as time elapses or the sensor on/off operation is repeated. As a result, the quality of IR sensor image is deteriorated, and therefore NUC(Non-uniformity Correction) is periodically needed for IR sensor. In this paper, in order to perform NUC in the Satellite, on-board V-grooved blackbody is designed with a baffle so that the emissivity of black body is to be higher than 0.995 as well as the temperature deviation is less than $1^{\circ}C$ in the range of the infrared wave length from 3.3 to $5.2{\mu}m$. To check its performance, the emissivity and the surface temperature of the blackbody by TRT(Transfer Reference Thermometer) and IR Micrometer scanner are measured, respectively. From the results, black body design is verified and the uncertainty of NUC is estimated through the measurement results.

  • 위성은 일단 한 번 발사하고 나면 운용궤도상에서 수리 및 회수가 거의 불가능하기 때문에 위성에 들어가는 모든 개발 부품들은 완벽한 설계, 충분한 해석, 고 작업도의 제작, 그리고 다양한 시험이 반드시 수반되어야 한다. 위성시스템에서 전자 소자의 신뢰성에 영향을 주는 인자는 다양하다. 과도한 열은 전자소자의 실패를 유발해서 결과적으로는 전체 위성의 실패를 유도할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 다목적 실용위성 2호의 고전력 소산 전장품의 열부하 완화를 위한 방안을 경우별로 연구 비교하였다. 고전력 소산 전장품의 열부하를 완화하기 위해서는 하우징 두께의 증가가 필요하며, 전력조절기의 다이오드나 트랜지스터처럼 전력소산이 큰 소자에 대해서는 장착위치를 변경하거나 장착 부분의 열전도율을 증가시키는 방법이 필요하다. 또한 전력조절기처럼 장착면이 좁은 경우에는 복사의 영향이 크며, 이러한 전장품의 열부하를 완화하기 위해서는 주위 벽면의 온도를 낮추거나 하우징 표면 방사율을 증가시키는 방법이 효과적임이 알 수 있다.

  • The HANARO, a multi-purpose research reactor of 30 MWth open-tank-in-pool type, has been under normal operation since its initial criticality in February, 1995. Recently, ten years after the initial operation of the HANARO, one of the two primary cooling pumps was decontaminated for overhaul maintenance in 2004. Before decontamination exposure doserate and surface contamination level of primary cooling pump measured at 4 points. After final decontamination exposure doserate and surface contamination level of primary cooling pump remeasured by same method done before. It is easy to decontaminate the out side exposed surfaces of the pump, but it is difficult to approach the inside surface due to double volute installed in the casing. Therefore, a new decontamination facility has been developed to solve this problem. A concentrated de-contaminant (DX-300) is rotated in the closed pump casing by the impeller actuated by a temporary motor. Nuclide particles are removed by the emulsification effect of the de-contaminant and the surface contaminants are chemically removed from the pump by the corrosion and dissolution effect. The inside surfaces of the primary cooling pump have been decontaminated by using the facility. As results, the contamination level of the inside surfaces was maintained below the surface contamination limit.

  • A Numerical study on two-dimensional laminar natural convection with and without surface radiation in fully or partially open square cavity was performed. The cavity has one vertical heated wall facing a vertical opening and two horizontal insulated walls. The pressure boundary condition was applied to the opening instead of the velocity boundary condition. The results of this study showed that the increase of partition length decreased the convective and the radiative Nusselt numbers. It was also found that the increase of wall emissivity decreased the convective Nusselt numbers but increased the radiative Nusselt numbers.

  • The purpose of this present study was to evaluate the surface radiation dose reduction and radiograph artifact images in computed tomography (CT) for the manufactured radiation shields by using sea-shells. The radiation convergence shields were made from silicons, sea-shells, barium powders, producted circle types of diameter 50 mm, thickness 3.5 mm for 5 kinds (only silicon shield, only barium shield, mixed sea-shells with silicon shield, mixed barium with silicon shield, mixed sea-shells with barium and silicon shield). Radiation generation and acquisition were used 4-channel multi-detector CT. The results of this study showed that mixed sea-shells with silicon shields could reduce the surface dose of 5.3% without radiograph artifact images. In the future, we will expect the radiation convergence shield as environmentally friendly materials by using the recycling of sea-shells with the advantages of silicon which can make various shapes.

  • The sorption of radioactive cobalt and ruthenium on alumina, silica gel, zeolite 3A, kaolin and Na-bentonite has been studied as a function of pH. nuclide concentration and ionic strength. Retardation factor for cobalt and ruthenium on soil minerals was determined through porosity measurement. Hydrolysed species, cobalt and ruthenium interact with solid surfaces by physical adsorption processes. Freundlich sorption isotherms for cobalt and ruthenium are effectively linear. The sorption decreases with increasing ionic strength for cobalt and ruthenium. The effect of increasing porosity on the retardation factor countered the effect of a significant increase in the distribution coefficient.

  • A major problem of nuclear energy is the production of radioactive wastes. Needs for more environmentally favorable method to decontaminate radioactive contaminants make the use of liqui $d^ercritical $CO_2$ as a solvent medium. In removing radioactive metallic contaminants under $CO_2$ solvent, two methods - use of chelating ligands and that of water in $CO_2$ emulsion-are possible. In the chelating ligand method, a combination of ligands that can make synergistic effects seems important. We discuss about the properties of microemulsion formed by F-AOT and that by non-ionic surfactant. By adding acid in water core, decontamination of metallic parts, soils were possible. The rate of metal surface dissolution to the microemulsion solution was measured by QCM. The possibility of recovering the surfactants after use is also mentioned.ed.

A Study on Plasma Etching Reaction of Cobalt for Metallic Surface Decontamination (금속 표면 제염을 위한 코발트의 플라즈마 식각 반응 연구)

  • In this study, plasma processing of metal surface is experimentally investigated to enhance the surface decontamination efficiency and to find out the reaction mechanism. Cobalt, the major contaminant in the nuclear facilities, and three fluorine-containing gases, $CF_4/O_2$, $SF_6/O_2$, and $NF_3$ are chosen for the investigation. Thin metallic disk specimens are prepared and their surface etching reactions with the three plasma gases are examined. Results show that the maximum etching rate of $17.2\;{\mu}m/min.$ is obtained with NF3 gas at $420^{\circ}C$, while with $CF_4/O_2$, $SF_6/O_2$ gas plasmas those of $2.56\;{\mu}m/min.$ and $1.14\;{\mu}m/min.$ are obtained, respectively. Along with etching experiments, constituent elements of the reaction products are identified to be cobalt, oxygen, and fluorine by AES (Auger Electron Spectroscopy) analysis. It turns out that the oxygen atoms are physically adsorbed ones to the surface from the ambient not participation ones during the analysis after reaction, which supports that the surface reaction of cobalt is mainly to be a fluorination reaction.

  • In this paper we propose a new method that can be estimation the spectral power distribution of the light source from three-band images. the light source is estimated by dividing the reflected spectral power distribution of the maximum achromatic region(L(λ)) by the corresponding surface reflectance(Ο(λ)). In order to obtain reflected spectral power distribution of the maximum achromatic region from three-bend images, a modified gray world assumption algorithm is adapted. And the maximum surface reflectance is estimated using the principal component analysis method along with achromatic population. The achromatic population is created from a set of given Munsell color chips whose chroma vector is less than threshold. Cumulative contribution ratio of principal components from the first to the third for classified achromatic population was about 99.75%. The reconstruction of illumination spectral power distribution by using achromatic population and three-band digital images captured under various light source was examined, and evaluated by RMSE between the original and reconstructed illumination spectral power distribution.
