Effect of $O_2$ Plasma Treatment on the Properties of CdS films Fabricated on the Polymer Substrate ($O_2$ 플라즈마 전처리조건에 따른 폴리머 기판에 증착된 CdS 박막의 특성변화)

  • CdS 박막은 에너지 밴드갭이 상온에서 2.42 eV인 직접 천이헝 반도체로써 태양전지 및 광전도 셀과 광센서 등에 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유연성을 가지고 있는 PC, PET, PEN등 폴리머 기판을 $O_2$ 플라즈마를 사용하고 RF Power 100W, 공정시간 60~1200s의 조건에서 전처리하고, 이 기판을 CBD법을 이용하여 CdS 박막을 증착시켰다. 폴리머 기판의 결정립크기는 180s의 처리시간 부터 증가를 보였으며, 전기적 특성은 60s 와 180s에서 이동도와 비저항이 반비례하는 경향성을 나타내었고 광투과율은 처리시간에 따른 뚜렷한 변화를 보이지 않았다.

  • 본 논문에서는 굴곡면 커버내에 전기회로를 구현시 그 동안 포토리소그라피 공정으로 제작된 PCB를 휴대기 등 내부 케이스에 부착하여 전기회로를 구현하였으나 본 논문에서는 PCB없이 직접 케이스인 복합 폴리머소재에 레이저조사에 의해 패턴과 무전해도금으로 전기회로를 직접구현하는 기술이다. 이러한 방법은 제안한 3단계 공정기법에 의해 가능하며, 즉 사출형 복합폴리머소재제작, 소재의 레이저조사에 의한 시드패턴 구현 및 형성시드의 무전해도금에 의한 전도성패턴구현 공정을 통하여 곡면커버의 전기회로구현이 가능하다. 이에 따라 기존의 복잡한 10 단계 이상의 포토리소그라피 공정을 레이저조사에 의한 3단계 공정으로 간소화함으로서 제품의 생산성향상, 다량장비 구입절감, 작업공간축소 및 기타 소재절감 등의 경제적 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 응용분야는 2차원 평면 전기회로 외에 3차원 곡면형상의 제품인 자동차, 휴대폰, 의료기, 센서, 오토바이 등의 커버에 직접회로 응용이 가능하다. 이에 대한 타당성은 실험결과를 통하여 입증하였다.

Fabrication of TiO2/polyelectrolyte thin film for a methyl mercaptan gas sensor (메칠멜캅탄 가스센서용 TiO2/전해질폴리머 박막 제조)

  • Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) gas sensor to detect methyl mercaptan ($CH_3SH$) gas was fabricated by depositing $TiO_2$ nanoparticles and polyelectrolyte on the electrode of QCM. The $TiO_2$/poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS) thin film fabricated by a layer-by-layer self-assembly (LBL-SA) method showed a high surface area and increased the sensitivity of gas sensor. When the QCM sensors coated with triethanolamine (TEA) or ($TiO_2$/PSS) were exposed to methyl mercaptan gas (1.0 ppm), the frequency shifts of QCM with TEA casting film and $TiO_2$/PSS thin film were ca. 9 Hz and ca. 24 Hz, respectively. As the bilayer number of ($TiO_2$/PSS) increased, the frequency shift of QCM sensor with ($TiO_2$/PSS) thin film was gradually increased. In addition, the frequency shift of QCM sensor was gradually increased as the concentration of methyl mercaptan gas increased from 0.5 ppm to 2.0 ppm. In this study, the surface morphology and sensor property of QCM sensor coated with ($TiO_2$/PSS) thin film were measured.

Polymeric Waveguide Bio Sensors with Bragg Gratings (브래그 격자 광도파로형 바이오 센서)

  • Biophotonic sensors based on polymer waveguide with Bragg reflection grating are demonstrated in this work. Waveguide Bragg reflectors were designed by using the effective index method and the transmission matrix method. The grating pattern was formed by exposing the laser interference pattern on a photoresist. On top of the inverted rib waveguide, the Bragg reflection grating was inscribed by the O2 plasma etching. In order to perform the bio-molecule detection experiment, a calixarene molecule was self-assembled on top of thin Au film deposited on the waveguide Bragg reflector. To measure the response of the sensor, several PBS solutions with different concentrations of potassium ion from 1 pM to $100\;{\mu}M$ were dropped on the sensor surface. The shift of Bragg reflection wavelength was observed from the fabricated sensor device, which was proportional to the concentration of potassium ion ranging from 1 pM to 108 pM.

Pattern recognition and characteristics of basic taste substances using the evanescent wave in multichannel optical fiber sensor (소산파를 이용한 다채널 광섬유형 미각센서의 제작 및 기본 맛에 대한 패턴분석)

  • In this study, a multichannel taste sensor using the evanescent field absorption in fiber optic was developed, and evaluated its characteristics for several basic taste substances. This sensor is based on the change of evanescent field absorption at the surface of optical fiber core layer. The sensor device was made of a plastic-clad-silica fiber (3M Co., FP-400-UHT, core diameter $400\;{\mu}m$) and a middle portion of cladding layer was removed and the surface of stripped fiber core was dip-coated with a sensing membrane. And then, it was determined the difference of evanescent field absorption into the sensing membrane, according to various taste substances and its concentrations variance. The sensing membranes were prepared with six kinds of dyes, were known as potential sensitive dye together with silicone polymer the same refractive index of cladding. Each output patterns were obtained from the sensor devices could be distinguished not only five kinds of basic taste substances such as sweetness, saltiness, sourness, bitterness and umami, but also various mixed taste substances.

  • 광섬유-평면도파로 결합기는 측면 연마된 광섬유와 그 위에 올려진 평면도파로 사이의 소산장 결합(evanescent field coupling)를 이용하는 소자이다. 이 결합기는 기본적으로 파장선택성과 편광선택성을 있고, 삽입손실이 매우 작고 기계적 신뢰성이 우수하여 많은 주목을 받아 왔다. 평면도파로의 재료로 반도체, 크리스탈, 액정크리스탈, 폴리머등 다양한 물질이 이용될 수 있어 광통신뿐만 아니라 광 센서 분야에서 활발하게 연구되어 왔다. (중략)

  • With the progress of USN technology, fields to which wireless sensor node is applicable are increased under a condition that it holds a lot of problems to solve for betterment. One of the problems which acts as an obstacle to USN industry diffusion is the wireless sensor node battery exchange to their individual life cycle. Exchanging the battery of so many sensor nodes one by one requires a great deal of times and costs. Such problem is against the convenience supply -aim by applying USN technology. In this paper, using RF wireless power transmission system that power transmission / harvesting module from a distance of 5 m and the power of 10 dBm with a current of 1 mA or more for Sensor Nodes in lithium-polymer battery charging system tested and verified.

  • In this study, the strain sensing characteristics of single-wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs) networks were investigated to develop a film sensor for strain sensing. The SWCNTs film are formed on flexible substrates of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) using spray process. In this manner we could control the transparency and obtain excellent uniformity of the networked SWCNT film. The carbon nanotube film is isotropic due to randomly oriented bundles of SWCNTs. Using experimental results it is shown that there is a nearly linear change in resistance across the film when it is subjected to tensile stress. The results presented in this study indicate the potential of such films for high sensitive transparent strain sensors on macro scale.

  • 금속으로 코팅한 광섬유는 폴리머로 코팅한 광섬유에 비해 여러 가지 장점을 가지고 있다. 금속 코팅 광섬유는 열적, 화학적 안정성이 높고 고온에서 사용할 수 있으며 수분 침투에 강하고 높은 굽힘 강도를 가진다. 또 납땜을 할 수가 있어서 광섬유 소자 패키징에 있어서 매우 유리하다$^{(1)}$ . 장주기 광섬유 격자는 WDM 용 필터, 온도 및 변형도 센서, 광섬유 증폭기의 이득 평탄화 필터에 많은 유용성을 가지고 있다. 광섬유 격자를 소자로 사용하기 위해서는 재 코팅이 필수적인데 금속은 좋은 대안이 될 것이다. 금속을 재 코팅 재료로 사용하기 위해서는 금속 코팅이 격자에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구가 요구된다. 광섬유 격자 쌍은 단일 장주기 격자에 비해 분해능이 좋아 센서 및 필터 등에 유용하여 본 연구에서는 광섬유 격자쌍 위에 은을 코팅하여 투과 스펙트럼에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다.   • Liquid crystal polymer (LCP) is a thermoplastic polymer with superior mechanical and thermal properties. In addition, its characteristics include very low water absorption rate and possibility to apply bonding process under low temperature. In this study, LCP is utilized as a packaging material for a microelectronic system (MEMS) based safety device with suggestion of a low temperature packaging process. Highly sensitive and stable capacitive type humidity sensor is fabricated to investigate hermeticity of the packaged MEMS device.
