Occurence Pattern of Yield and Missing Plant of Panax Ginseng in Lines under Field Condition (인삼포장의 행별수량과 결수발현양상)

  • Root yield, number of missing and diseased plant in each line were investigated in various ginseng farms. Root yield per unit area was negatively correlated to missing percentage. Missing percentage showed significant positive correlation with diseased rate. Among lines yield was significantly different in most fields while missing rate was not, indicating that yield of each line is affected by present shading method but disease occurrence is not. Thus there are two ways of yield increase, shading improvement and disease control.

Storage of Rice Cake made of Black Rice and Brown Rice using Flexible Packaging Materials (유연성 플라스틱 포장재를 이용한 흑미 쌀 과자의 저장)

  • Physical and chemical changes of black rice cake were investigated to determine its packaging material during storage. Black rice cake was packaged with polyethylene(PE) or polypropylene(PP) film and stored in RH 65% at 20$^{\circ}C$ for 5 months. There were no differences between PP and PE films for color, hardness and rancidity during storage, while weight change and water activity were slightly different between two films. Weight and water activity of black rice cakes packaged with PE or PP were increased during storage. Weight change and water activity of PE were slightly higher than those of PP. In conclusion, quality changes of black rice cake packaged with flexible packaging materials were little different between PP and PE during storage.

Quality of Strawberry Packed with PLA Films (PLA 필름으로 포장한 딸기의 품질)

  • Effect of several PLA films on strawberry packaging was investigated. Three types of PLA film (non-perforated PLA1, perforated films of PLA2 and PLA3) were used for packing strawberry and the fruit quality was measured during 6 day storage at 10. For comparison, two types of OPP/PE film (non-perforated OPP1 and perforated OPP2) were used for strawberry packaging. Weight loss of all the treatments was below 0.12% after 6 day, seeming to be in tolerable range. PLA3 package showed the best retention in fruit firmness, PLA2 and PLA3 packages the least changes in acidity, and PLA2 package gave the least changes of soluble solid content and vitamin C content. There have been no differences in surface color among packages. Perforated PLA films could be effective for use as packaging of strawberry.

The Use of Multiple Seed Vigor Indices to Predict Field Emergence and Grain Yield of Naked and Malting Barley (복합종자세지수를 이용한 보리 포장출아률과 수량예측)

  • In order to estimate field seedling emergence and grain yield by the information collected from various laboratory seed vigor tests, each two malting and naked barley cultivar seeds were artificially aged according to the standard aging treatment suggested by the Association of Official Seed Analysts. The seed vigor tests adopted were warm- and cold-germination test, tetrazolium vigor test and electrocon. ductivity test. Field emergence of malting barley (Y) was estimated by Y=-2.962+0.229X$_1$ (% warm germination) -0.001X$_2$ (vigor of warm germination test: WGT) +0.354X$_3$ (vigor of cold germination test: CT) -0.558X$_4$ (% cold germination). The multiple correlation coefficient indicated that % warm germination. was contributed 64 % of the variation in seedling emergence rate of malting barley. The vigor of warm and cold germination tests, and % cold germination contributed additional 4, 7, and 9%, respectively, upon addition of the variables into regression. For naked barley, the regression equation of emergence rate was less efficient(R$^2$=54%) than that of malting barley(R$^2$=84%). A model to predict grain yield by the results of various seed vigor tests was not evaluated for both malting and naked barlev.

  • 배추의 포장상자를 예냉ㆍ저온유통에 적합한 구조로 개선하기 위하여 3-4포기용 골판지 상자를 T11형 표준 팔레트에 적재율이 96%이상 되게 제작하여 고습조건에서도 안전하게 배추를 보호할 수 있는 상자구조를 찾기 위한 수직압축강도시험과 냉각성능 및 예냉후 품질 변화에 대한 시험을 실시하였다. 가. 배추의 저온유통에 사용하는 골판지포장상자는 개공율을 5.4%로 하고, 포장상자 형태를 접음식 형태로 하는 것이 예냉속도 및 예냉균일도에서 유리하고, 저장후 수직압축강도에서는 브릿스박스에 비하여 낮게 나타났지만, 안전압축강도 이상의 압축강도를 나타내었고 제작단가도 저렴하였다. 나. 예냉 후 저장 중 품질변화는 배추 줄기의 절단력을 측정한 결과 개선된 포장상자에서 유통기한을 6-7일정도 연장시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

저선량 $\gamma$선 조사에 의한 곡물류와 채소류의 생육촉진 효과

  • 작물과 채소류의 생육에 대한 저선량 방사선 조사효과를 보고자 온실과 포장실험을 수행한 결과, 발아율과 유묘초장을 조사한 초기생육의 경우 벼, 콩 및 들깨의 200rad, 400rad, 100rad에서 생육촉진 효과를 볼 수 있었다 포장실험에서 벼의 경우 저선량조사에 의해 수량증가 효과는 없었고 종자의 불임율이 감소하였으며 콩과 들깨의 경우 400rad에서 생육상태와 수량이 다소 양호하여 저선량에 의한 생육촉진 효과가 인정되었다. 배추와 무의 경우는 200rad에서 발아율이 증가하여 저선량조사에 의한 효과를 볼 수 있었고 800rad에서 초장 등이 다소 증가하였으나 뚜렷한 수량증가 효과는 볼 수 없었다.

Effects of Packaging Method on the Quality of Blanched Namul during Storage (포장방법에 따른 데침나물의 저장중 품질변화)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the storage effects of the packaging method of blanched namul(Gosari, Torandae, Chwinamul and Siraegi). The samples were packaged with three packaging types (Vinyl packaging, sealing packaging and vacuum packaging) and were stored for 10 days at $10^{\circ}C$. The quality characteristics were evaluated via a microbiological test, hardness, pH and flavor patterns analysis. The pH values of the samples were not affected by packaging method. The total aerobic and coliform plate counts were high, in the order of vacuum packaging < sealing packaging < vinyl packaging. Vacuum packaging resulted in the highest hardness value. The flavor patterns of blanched namul by packaging type were analysed with electronic nose system equipped with 12 metal-oxide sensors, and the storage shelf life of namul was evaluated by measuring the change in volatile production. As a result, it was shown that namul in vacuum packaging had few volatile production changes with higher storage time.

The Quality of Milled Rice with Reference to Whiteness and Packing Conditions during Storage (백도 및 포장조건별 쌀의 저장 중 품질 특성)

  • This study investigated the effectsof whiteness and packing conditions on the quality characteristics of milled rice during storage at $25^{\circ}C$. Three kinds of packing materials (kraft paper sealed polyethylene and perforated polyethylene) were used to pack milled rice of different whiteness grades (36, 38, 40 and 42). The moisture content and weight of milled rice packed in kraft paper dropped very rapidly compared to values from milled rice packed in polyethylene because of high gas exchange through the paper. On the other hand, the increase in fat acidity of milled rice packed in kraft paper was less than that of milled rice packed in polyethylene because the moisture content of paper-packed rice fell rapidly. The overall quality of cooked rice rose with whiteness, and dropped with extended storage. The overall eating quality of milled rice paced in perforated polyethylene was bestwhen rice was prepared for the table after 8 weeks of storage.
