LDPE필름포장이 복숭아의 품질변화에 미치는 영향

  • 복숭아는 다른 과일에 비해 조직이 연약하고 저장성이 매우 낮은 여름철 과일이므로 선별, 포장 및 유통과정에 세심한 주의가 필요하다. 따라서 출하.유통시 선도를 유지시켜 유통기한을 연장시킨다면 경제적 효과가 클 것이다. 국내에서 일반화되어 있는 PE필름 밀봉 저장방식은 과실의 호흡에 의해 산소농도의 감소와 이산화탄소의 증가로 호흡이 억제되고, 이에 따라 노화가 지연됨으로 과실의 저장수명을 증가시키는 방식이며, PE필름내 기체조성에 영향을 미치는 요소는 필름의 두께와 저장온도이고 저장온도가 필름의 두께, 즉 MA효과보다 과실연화에 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이는 필름의 두께가 얇을수록 봉지 내 산소농도가 높아져 호흡대사를 촉진하기 때문인 것으로 이해된다. 과육의 연화가 시작되면서 이취를 유발하는 아세트알데히드와 에탄올의 축적이 증가한다고 보고되고 있고 이는 저장고 내 고농도의 이산화탄소 처리 시에 나타난다. 따라서 본 실험에서는 상온 2$0^{\circ}C$에서 복숭아를 0.05mm LDPE필름으로 포장하여 경도, 당도, pH를 측정하였으며 $O_2$(1, 3, 5%), $CO_2$(5, 10, 15%)를 9구분으로 환경기체를 조성하고 중심합성계획법에 의해 반응 표면분석(RSM)을 하였고 갈변도검사 결과와 함께 종합적으로 복숭아저장에 필요한 최적조건을 규명하고자 하였다.

Quality of 'Fuji' Apple Packed with Functional MA Film to the Films Thickness (두께별 기능성 MA 필름으로 포장하여 저장한 사과의 품질)

  • The quality of 'Fuji' apple was analyzed the film thickness conditions and packed with functional MA film during 24 weeks storage at $0^{\circ}C$ to weight loss, hardness, acidity and SSC, decay ratio, and vitamin C. The weight loss of apple packed functional MA film was higher than that of contro.Value of the weight loss of apple packed in the control and functional MA filmswere 8.2% and 0.4-0.5%, respectively. The change of hardness and titratable acidity was also lower than that of control. The decay ratio of apple packed with functional MA films were 2.4~4.7%, but that of control was 6.8%. The decay ratio of apple was the lowest at 0.025mm functional MA film. Changes of vitamin C also was lower than that of control. Based on the results, we suggested that the functional MA film with 0.025mm thickness is desirable for keeping the quality of the 'Fuji' apple produced at Geochang, Korea.

Behavior Analysis of Ultra-Thin Whitetopping in Field (얇은 콘크리트 덧씌우기 포장의 거동 평가)

  • The total length of paved roads in Korea is 67,265 Km, and among these roads, about 40% of the national highways and 98% of local roads are paved with asphalt concrete. The major distress to asphalt pavement is rutting and fatigue crack. The permanent deformation including rutting accounts for about 75% of this distress. UTW(Ultra-Thin Whitetopping), which is known for its high-quality performance in asphalt pavement with rutting and cracking, seems to reduce maintenance costs significantly if it is used as the maintenance/repair method for domestic asphalt pavement. In the research, static load test was conducted to establish a behavior of Whitetopping under traffic and environmental condition. It showed that the effect of the thickness of the concrete layer and the temperature change was significant. In addition, the tensile strain as the wheel load position was close to interior and edge of concrete slab were increased up to 75% of maximum tensile strain. It showed that joint spacing must be considered in UTW design procedure.

Safety Evaluation of the Settlement Amount of the Bridge Earthwork Transition Area Using the Ground Penetrating Radar in the Soft Ground Section (연약지반 구간에서 지표투과레이더 활용한 교량 접속부 침하량 안전 평가)

  • To reduce the bump of bridge/earthwork transition area caused by the settlement of the soft ground during public use, the road agencies have been continuously overlay or repavement at those areas. In this study, the vehicle-mounted ground penetrating radar with 1GHz air-coupled antenna was used to estimate the settlement amount of those areas for nine bridges built in the soft ground. Results shows that it is possible to effectively measure the thickness of pavement up to a depth of 1 m on an asphalt road with ground penetrating radar technology that can inspect under the road surface. Distinctively deformation of the road surface, the variation in the thickness of the pavement measured at bridge/earth transition areas is equivalent to a minimum of 50 mm and a maximum of 600 mm, and there is a risk of cavity in the ground. The difference in the increased pavement thickness is 50~250 mm for each bridge connection, which may cause the differential settlement. In this study, by using the result of the ground penetration radar, a plan for improving drivability and maintenance of the settlement is suggested and applied to the field.

A Parameter Study of Stuctural Respanse Model in Flexible Pavement Substucture Layers (아스팔트 포장하부구조 층모델 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Several design methods from overseas are employed without considering different conditions such as material properties, climate, and traffic condition in this country. Therefore, there are limitations in application. Therefore, new pavement analysis system which is able to design a pavement efficiently and economically should be set up. In this study, 243 probable sections are classified depending on values of layer thickness and elastic modulus, and the effect of load types for the probable sections are analyzed. The section showing larger load distribution is chosen for analysis. As a result of sensitivity, a layer thickness has more influence on pavement than an elastic modulus does. The stress distribution of FWD test load is larger than that of circular load. This study compares outputs between nonlinear elastic model and linear elastic model. Based on the result, this study finds nonlinear elastic model considering stress condition in the ground is recommended for subbase.

Changes of Quality and Astringency of Persimmons due to Modified Atmosphere Packaging (떫은감의 MAP 탈삽에 따른 품질특성 변화)

  • We investigated the effect of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) on the removal of astringency and overall quality of astringent persimmons (Diospyros kaki T. cv. Miryangbansi). Persimmons were packaged in 0.08, 0.10, or 0.12 mm low-density polyethylene film and then stored at $0^{\circ}C$ for up to 100 days. Concentrations of $O_2$ and $CO_2$ in the packaging maintained lower and higher as the film thickness increased Weight loss was strongly retarded by all three MAP films. Soluble tannin content decreased as the film thickness increased. The astringency of persimmons disappeared after 60-70 days in 0.12 mm film, after 80 days in 0.10 mm film, but did not disappear after 100 days in 0.08 mm film Loss of flesh firmness and decline in external appearance were slower in persimmons in 0.08 and 0.10 mm films than in those in 0.12 mm film. Our results show that 0.10 mm LDPE films can be effective for maintaining the quality and removal of the astringency of astringent persimmons.

Thickness Design of Composite Pavement for Heavy-Duty Roads Considering Cumulative Fatigue Damage in Roller-Compacted Concrete Base (롤러전압콘크리트 기층의 누적피로손상을 고려한 중하중 도로의 복합포장 두께 설계)

  • It is important to design the pavement thickness considering heavy-duty traffic loads, which can cause excessive stress and strain in the pavement. Port-rear roads and industrial roads have many problems due to early stress in pavement because these have a higher ratio of heavy loads than general roads such as national roads and expressways. Internationally, composite pavement has been widely applied in pavement designs in heavy-duty areas. Composite pavement is established as an economic pavement type that can increase the design life by nearly double compared to that of existing pavement while also decreasing maintenance and user costs. This study suggests a thickness design method for composite pavement using roller-compacted concrete as a base material to ensure long-term serviceability in heavy-duty areas such as port-rear roads and industrial roads. A three-dimensional finite element analysis was conducted to investigate the mechanical behavior and the long-term pavement performance ultimately to suggest a thickness design method that considers changes in the material properties of the roller-compacted concrete (RCC) base layer. In addition, this study presents a user-friendly catalog design method for RCC-base composite pavement considering the concept of linear damage accumulation for each container trailer depending on the season.

Effect of Functional MA Packaging Film on Freshness Extension of #Fuji# Apples (기능성 MA 포장재가 #후지# 사과의 신선도에 미치는 영향)

  • To investigate the effect of packaging condition on functional MA films laminated (30CE, 50CE), corrugated paperboard box (control), 30LDPE, and 50LDPE pouches on the freshness extension of Fuji apples, the weight loss, firmness, total ascorbic acid, titratable acidity, soluble solids content and appearence were evaluated at 5$^{\circ}C$ after 75 days. Weight loss of 30CE and 50CE, and 30LD and 50LD was 0.4 to 0.5%, and 0.2%, but control was 2.7%. Firmness in film packages was higher than that of control, and CE packagings were higher than LD. Total ascorbic acid content of Fuji apple in control after 75 days was 2.12 mg%, that of control was decreased by 42%, those of LD packagings were 31% and 29%, and those of CE were 24% and 22%. Titratable acidity and soluble solids content in control changed more than that of MA film packagings. Overall appearence of 'Fuji' apples in CE packagings was better than that of control.
