인터넷 표준 문서인 XML(Extensible Markup Language)이 구조적인 내용만을 갖고 있기 때문에 문서를 보여주기 위한 표현 정보를 포함하는 스타일 시트(style sheets)가 필요하다. 이를 위해 W3C(World Wide Web Consortium)에서는 XML 문서의 구조적인 접근을 위한 XPath(XML Path Language)와 문서의 내용구조를 변환하기 위한 XSLT (Transformations), 그리고 포맷팅 정보를 위한 XSL-fo(XSL Formatting objects)로 구성되는 XSL(Extensible Stylesheet Language)를 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 XML 문서와 XSL 스타일 시트를 이용하여 XML 문서의 데이터를 변환하고 XSL-fo 정보를 이용하여 결과 FO(Formatting Objects)를 생성한다. 또한 트리로 구성된 결과 FO에서 페이지 정보와 FOT (Formatting Objects Tree)를 추출하는 FOT 생성부를 두었고, 디스플레이 관리기와 포맷팅 모듈 객체 관리기를 두어 FOT를 포맷팅을 위한 모듈로 저장하고 디스플레이 해주는 포맷팅 처리 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

본 논문에서 제시하는 시스템은 MPEG-4로 부호화된 비디오/오디오에 대해서 MPEG-4 파일 포맷에 맞는 MPEG-4 파일 생성 포맷터이다. 본 논문에서 설계하고 구현된 파일 포맷터는 전처리 부분, 부호화기 파일 포맷터로 구성된 저작도구의 모듈로서 존재한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 저작도구에서 사용될 MPEG-4 파일 포맷터의 구조 및 기능에 대해서 선명하고, 포맷터의 세부 설계 사항을 기술한다. 본 논문에서 MPEG-4 파일 포맷터의 기능은 비디오/오디오 인코더로부터 출력되는 비디오/오디오 데이터를 MPEG-4 파일 포맷의 형식에 맞는 MPEG-4 파일을 생성하는 것이다. 생성된 파일은 비디오/오디오 각각에 대한 정보와 생성된 비디오/오디오를 처리할 디코더에 대한 정보를 제공한다. 표준 상의 MPEG-4 시스템에서의 동기화 정보를 파일 포맷상의 비디오/오디오 데이터에 제공하여 , 스트리밍 서비스을 제공하는 서버쪽에서의 동기화 과정과 먹싱을 배제할 수 있게 한다. 비디오/오디오 인코더로부터 생성되는 다양만 종류의 비디오/오디오 데이터를 효율적으로 포맷팅하여 다양한 범위의 응용에서 사용될 수 있게 하며, 차기에 계위화 부호화를 효율적으로 적용시키기 위해 파일 포맷팅을 수행하게 된다.

This paper is for the design and implementation of SGML document presentation system to format SGML document based on DSSSL. ISO/lEC proposed DSSSL as the technological standard for formatting and transforming SGML document. This paper shows the design of this system in accordance with the model defined in DSSSL. This system, which is able to provide Korean, has parsing function of arbitrary DTDs, SGML documents and DSSSL style sheets, and contains a formatter that can manage various specifications, such as graphs, lists, pictures, as well as text. This will satisfy a user's intent for exchange of SGML documents that involve format information between different types, greatly contribute to make up SGML document processing environment.

본 연구에서는 SGML 문서의 포맷팅과 변환을 지원하는 DSSSL 처리기를 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 DSSL의 문서 처리 과정과 이를 지원하는 처리기의 개발 방법을 소개한다. 또한 개발 결과를 다양한 문서처리 환경에 적용하여 DSSL의 우수성과 개선이 요구되는 부분에 대하여 기술한다. 그 결과 DSSL은 구조 기반 검색을 지원하는 질의 언어와 다양한 연산기능을 지원하는 수식 언어에 기반하기 때문에 강력한 포맷팅과 변환기능을 제공한다. 그러나 처리 방식의 특성상, DSSL은 사용자 인터랙션이 많으며 위지윅한 문서 환경보다는 일괄처리 방식의 문서 처리 분야에 더 적합하다.

Existing XML-based variable data publishing, in which a user has to manually prepare and edit template rules, is rather difficult for general users to create documents. Especially when processing large variable XML documents such as manuals or technical documents, fast document formatting is required to provide fast response speed for editing, which the existing batch processing cannot provide. This paper proposes a variable data publishing system with dynamic editing and formatting function, which support fast formatting upon user's request for large volume documents as well as for template editing through interaction by displaying the result of template-based variable documents on WYSIWYG screen. Proposed system can be effectively used for creating customized documents with many variable data that can be changed according to individual characteristics such as individual, company or area; source documents, template documents and formatted documents adopt XML, XSLT and XPath standards suggested by W3C, which facilitates extension to web document processing system.

본 논문은 XML 문서의 내용 및 구조 정보를 XSL 스타일시트(stylesheet)의 포맷팅(formatting) 정보를 적용하여 표현하는 포매팅 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 관한 것이다. 본 시스템은 XML 문서를 XSLT(XSL Transformations) 및 Xpath(XML Path Language)를 이용하여 문서를 변환하고, XSL-fo(XSL Formatting Objects)를 적용하여 포맷팅을 지정하는 XML 문서 표현 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 이 XML 문서 표현 시스템은 웹 표준화 기구인 W3C에서 제안하는 XSL 포매팅 처리에 대한 구성을 기반으로 구현함으로써 표준화에 입각한 처리시스템으로써 변화에 능동적으로 대처 가증하고 모듈화 되어 있어 부분적인 수정 및 대체가 가능하도록 설계하였다. 본 시스템은 IBM 호환 PC에서 동작하며, 운영체제는 Windows 2000 환경에서 Visual C++6.0을 사용하여 개발하였다.

This paper proposes a dynamic formatting method for processing large amounts of document in a device independent manner. And it is very useful for cross-referencing among pages in a single document and for presenting multiple pages simultaneously. The method can be applied usefully to hypertext's application such as establishing a link and a cross-reference among pages in a multiple document. We implemented an electronic publishing system of WYSIWYG type using X window system and Motif graphical user interface.

Recently, a variety of organizations including enterprises tend to try to use reporting tools as a data analysis tool for decision making support because reporting tools are capable of formatting data flexibly. Traditional reporting tools have thin-client structure in which all of dynamic documents are generated in the server side. This structure enables reporting tools to avoid repetitive process to generate dynamic documents, when many clients intend to access the same dynamic document. However, generating dynamic documents for data analysis doesn't consider a number of potential readers and increases requests to the server by making clients input various parameters at short intervals. In the structure of the traditional reporting tools, the increase of these requests leads to the increase of processing load in the server side. Thus, we present the reporting tool that can generate dynamic documents at the client side. This reporting tool has a processing mechanism to deal with a number of data despite the limited memory capacity of the client side.
