  • Fault tree construction for hazard assessment requires so much time and labor, so it is very difficult to be applied to the large scale chemical plant. In this study, for the synthesis of fault tree in chemical processes, the object-oriented knowledge framework is proposed to represent the deviations of process variables in the equipment and cause-consequence relationship with equipment faults. The cause of fault is searched by using the object-oriented modeling of equipments and the connectivity among equipments, and then a fault tree is synthesized. we have discussed the performance of the methodology on nitric acid cooling process to evaluate its effectiveness.

  • The productivity of automated container terminals is significantly affected by not only the speed related performances of automated transfer cranes(ATCs) but also the sizes of container blocks. In this paper, it is discussed how to determine the size of import container blocks considering both the container handling times of an ATC and their storage space. Firstly, evaluation models are suggested for the container handling times of an ATC in a typical import container blocks. Secondly, three mathematical formulations are suggested to determine the size of import container blocks. Numerical experiments for the suggested models to determine the size of import container block are provided.

  • By adopting HIL(Hardware-in-the-Loop), component characteristics in vehicle environment can be obtained without implementing component in the vehicle. In this paper, when specific motor is adopted as traction motor in hybrid electric vehicle HIL implementation procedures are explained. In order to implement HIL method motor testing. vehicle performance simulator and load characteristic are explained. Vehicle controller used in simulator is directly uploaded in real controller. Especially as a load dynamometer actively controlled motor system is used without connecting conventional mechanical inertia. Motor characteristics are obtained using HIL implementation when test motor is used as a traction motor for parallel hybrid electric vehicle. Proposed method can be used as experimental equipment to educate driving characteristics of hybrid electric vehicle.

  • In this paper, the RFID-based ad-hoc network is presented for the efficient yard management of the container terminal. The loading and unloading work is performed through the ad-hoc communication between YT and GC, YT and TC within the yard without the control of the central server. That makes the efficient operation of the yard with real task correspondence. Using the location information of the RFID tag, we have proposed the routing protocol which is suitable for the yard environment of the container terminal. The performance evaluation has been carried out through the network simulator and gained an effective results.

  • Most recent mobile devices can store a massive amount of images. However, the typical user interface of mobile devices, such as a small-size 2D display and discrete-input buttons, make the browsing and manipulation of images cumbersome and time-consuming. As an alternative, we adopt motion-based interaction along with a 3D layout of images, expecting such an intuitive and natural interaction may facilitate the tasks. We designed and implemented a motion-based interaction scheme for image browsing using an ultra mobile PC, and evaluated and compared its usability to that of the traditional button-based interaction. The effects of data layouts (tiled and fisheye cylindrical layouts) were also investigated to see whether they can enhance the effectiveness of the motion based interaction.

  • 선행 연구개발한 집단감시 디지털 시스템(Group Digital Surveillance System for Fishery Safety and Security, GDSS- F2S)은 대단위 양식장에 침입하는 도적을 방어하기 위하여 레이더 추적정보와 적아식별 정보를 제공하는 시스템이다. 그러나 GDSS-F2S에서 제공하는 두 가지 정보만으로는 도적행위를 입증할 수 있는 법적 증거자료로 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점 해결방안의 하나로 CCD 카메라를 이용한 영상획득 장치를 개발하여 GDSS-F2S에 부가한 연구내용을 기술한다. 영상획득 장치 개발에 앞서, 실험지역의 지리적인 특성을 고려한 도적침입 예상경로 분석과 도적행위 시나리오를 기반으로 유효한 대응수단을 검토한 결과, 영상획득 장치가 유효한 대응수단임을 확인하였다. 영상획득 장치는 저가이변서 성능이 우수한 0.0001 룩스의 초저조도 CCD 카메라와 부가장치를 이용하여 개발하였다. 6개월 이상의 장기 현장실험을 통하여 본 연구에서 개발한 시스템을 평가한 결과, 주간은 물론 1 미터 앞도 식별할 수 없는 야간에도 차량의 행동과 번호판 및 사람의 행동과 인상착의 등의 영상정보를 확보할 수 있었다.

  • This paper gives an assessment criteria and reliability improvement for high frequency power supply of high efficacy electrodeless fluorescent lamp. The electrodeless fluorescent lamp system consist of electrodeless fluorescent lamp, high frequency power supply and lighting fixtures. The high frequency power supply has a shortest life at the system. Therefore It is need th assess the Failure Rate or mean Time To Failure(MTTF) for the high frequency power supply of electrodeless fluorescent lamp system and improve the reliability at design. We suggest the assessment criteria and improve methods of the reliability on the design basis for the electodeless fluorescent system.

Study for Improving military cardiopulmonary resuscitation quality and resuscitation training by combining feedback device and debriefing (피드백 장치와 디브리핑을 통한 군 심폐소생술의 질과 교육훈련 향상 연구)

  • 군의 교육훈련간 디브리핑과 피드백 장치 활용을 통한 심폐소생술 교육방법을 적용하여 보다 효과적인 교육 방법을 확인하고 심폐소생술 수행 전 후 피로도를 검사하여 심폐소생술 술기가 숙달된 인원과 숙달되지 않은 인원의 피로도 차이를 분석함으로써 심폐소생술 교육프로그램의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 현재 야전에서 응급처치교육을 받은 적이 없는 비 의무병인자로 전투병 생존법 교육 소집 대상자 중 참여 희망자 50명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구방법은 3가지 교육방법(디브리핑, 피드백장치, 디브리핑과 피드백장치 조합) 을 적용한 3개의 그룹에서 1,2,3차의 평가와 전체 디브리핑을 통해 심폐소생술 수행능력의 질적 향상에 미치는 영향과 동일 대상 중 희망자 20명에 한하여 심폐소생술 수행(5분) 전 후 혈중 젖산 농도 측정 및 주관적인 문답(1~10점)을 통해 심폐소생술 수행에 따른 피로도 실험을 진행하였다. 3가지 교육방법에 따른 심폐소생술수행능력 향상은 모든 그룹에서 유의하였으며(p<.001), 그룹별 심폐소생술 수행능력 향상효과의 차이는 디브리핑과 피드백장치를 조합하여 적용한 그룹에서 유의하게 높았다(p<.01). 심폐소생술 수행능력이 숙달되기 전 후의 피로도에 대해서는 본인이 느끼는 피로도는 유의한 차이는 없었으나 혈중 젖산농도에 따른 피로도는 유의한 차이로 전보다 후가 낮아졌다(p<.01).

  • The effect and the overall optimal operation of artificial aeration devices for mixing of thermally stratified water reservoir are under study, and its brief introduction is made. The study site is Yeoncho Lake in Geojae island, which is well known for its eutrophication problems in the summer. A few samplings have been made before and after the operation of two types of artificial aerators, and the effect is believed to be positive. Also, design methodology for such artificial aerators is reviewed and a few are applied to the case of Yeoncho Lake. Schladow's[1993] proposal is believed most proper based on the information we have gathered by now. In addition, a simple numerical experiment is also peformed to see the overall effect of the device on the flow and temperature profile.

Dynamic Interactions between the Reactor Vessel and the CEDM of the Pressurized Water Reactor (가압경수로 원자로용기와 제어봉 구동장치의 동적 상호작용)

  • The dynamic interactions between the reactor vessel and the control element drive mechanisms (CEDMs) of a pressurized water reactor are studied with the simplified mathematical model. The CEDMs are modeled as multiple substructures having different masses and the reactor vessel as a single degree of freedom system. The explicit equation for the frequency responses of the multiple substructure system are presented for the case of harmonic base excitations. The optimum dynamic characteristics of the CEDMs are presented to reduce the dynamic responses of the reactor vessel. The mathematical model and its response equations are verified by finite element analysis for the detailed model of the reactor vessel and the CEDMs for the harmonic base excitations. It is finally shown that the optimal dynamic characteristics of the CEDM presented can be applicable for the aseismic design.
