A Study on the Generation of Circularly Polarized Waves with a Slot Antenna by Coupling of a Strip Scatterer (스트립형 산란도체의 결합에 의한 슬롯안테나의 원편파 형성에 관한 연구)

  • We proposed a new radiating structure generating a circularly polarized wave. Futhermore, we show that it is possible to generate all kind of polarizations by simple variations of some schematic factors. Basically, the structure composed of a slot and a strip. The length of slot and strip, the slot-strip distance and the strip inclination are the crucial factors to determine the polarization form. In this paper, we investigated the effects on polarization and other radiation characteristics by varying the factors.

  • 본 논문에서는 2.4 [GHz] 대역에서 1(equation omitted)2 마이크로스트림 배열 안테나를 이용한 지하철 터널내의 전파특성을 고찰하였다. 445 [m]의 터널구간에서 협대역 측정결과 LOS (Line-of-Sight)구간에 비하여 NLOS(Non-Line-of-Sight)구간에서는 수신 전력 레벨이 급격히 감소 하였으며, 10단 길이의 PN Sequence를 이용한 광대역 채널 측정에서는 Fan Beam의 평균과도지연과 RMS 지연확산이 각각 3.5736 [ns]과 11.7327 [ns]로서 원편파와 지향성 빔에 비하여 우수함을 확인하였다. 또한 전체 측정구간에 대한 평균과도지연과 RMS 지연확산의 중간값과 표준편차를 구하였고 각각의 빔에 대하여 비교하였다.

  • Dielectrically filled parallel-plate waveguide with finite number of periodic slots in its upper plate as a leaky wave antenna is analysed for E-polarization case. The integro-differential equation whose unknown is the slot equivalent magnetic current over the slot is formulated and solved by use of Galerkin's method. From knowledge of the equivalent magnetic current, the propagation constant and radiation pattern for the finite periodic structure are determined and compared with the results of the infinite case. Good correspondence between them is observed.

  • In this paper, a integrated structure of a two-element microstrip patch antenna with two feeds for GPS/PCS dual-band operation is proposed. The radiating element for PCS operation is a novel broad band low-profile cylindrical monopole top-loaded with a shorted meander patch, which gives linearly polarized conical radiation pattern and size reduction of patch due to meander line. The radiating element for GPS operation is a novel square-ring microstrip patch with truncated corners and slits. which provide circularly polarized broadside radiation patterns and size reduction due to slots. using dielectric substrate in GPS antenna of proposed antenna provide to improve isolation between two feeds and reduce size of patch. The proposed antenna achieves the bandwidth and polarization requirements of GPS and PCS systems.

  • In this paper a dual-band circularly polarized stacked microstrip antenna for Global Positioning System (GPS) service and Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) service is designed. By stacking two different corner-truncated square microstrip patches, dual-band, dual polarization characteristic is obtained. Experimental results show impedance bandwidth of 60 MHz (3.8%) and axial ratio bandwidth of 6 MHz (0.4%) in GPS and impedance bandwidth of 126 MHz (4.7%) and axial ratio bandwidth of 30MHz (1.1%) in DMB.

  • In this paper, the waveguide slot array antenna which is capable of wide beam steering and dual polarization is designed for an X band synthetic aperture radar. In order to improve the restriction of beam steering range and to remove the butterfly lobes, a typical waveguide slot array antenna has been modified. To implement dual polarization, rod excited waveguide slot elements and ridge waveguide slot elements are alternately arranged. Location of slots, inclination of rod and offset distance of slots are determined on using array characteristic and conductance constant with radiating power on slots. The designed antenna is manufactured and measured with Near-filed measurement method.

  • A suspended microstrip line structure over mushroom-like SMPs is designed and is applied to a dual-frequency and dual-polarization microstrip patch antenna. This structure has a distinctive and sharp rejection band and provides near 0 dB insertion loss outside the rejection band. Applying the structure to the conventional DFDP antenna enhanced the isolation between the two ports more than 20 dB. The structure is expected to have a wide range of applications in antennas and filters due to its compactness and integrability in circuits.

  • A numerical method for scattering of electromagnetic waves from a arbitrary shaped grating covered with dielectric slab is considered for TE polarization case from the viewpoints of both reflection grating problem and leaky wave antenna problem. The analysis is based on a periodic Green's function and the method of moments. Numerical results involving some combinations of geometric parameters are presented in terms of relative scattered powers of spectral modes and complex propagation constants.

Bistatic Scattering Cross-Section of a Spherical Conductor (완전도체구의 산란특성)

  • In-Building communication network is realized by spherical reflector installed on the ceiling and a pair of circularly polarized antennas. Before realizing the system, the scattering characteristics of a spherical conductor is computed and experimented. In this paper, the computational results using vector spherical wave equation and experimental results of the scattering characteristics of a spherical conductor are dicussed. From the results, the omnidirectional scattering level is confirmed and polarity difference over 13 dB is ensured in light region. With the base on omnidirectional scattering pattern of spherical conductor in light region, spherical reflector is effectable in as Wireless In-Building communication network.

  • In this paper, circular polarized antennas of Tx 30GHz and Rx 20GHz are implemented in LTCC process. Tx antenna has a circular patch structure and Rx antenna has a ring patch structure. The feeding line of Tx antenna is placed in the center hole of Rx ring patch antenna which is printed under Tx circular patch antenna layer. It makes antenna size smaller. Tx antenna's return loss in under -l0dB level from 30GHz to 31GHz and Rx antenna is under -10 dB from 20GHz to 21GHz. The isolation between two antennas is less than -20dB. Axial ratio is less than 3dB thoughout each band.
