A roentgeno cephalometric comparative study was undertaken to reveal significant differences of craniofacial morphology and growth between unilateral cleft lip and palate and normal individuals. The material for this study consisted 32 subjects with repaired unilateral cleft lip and palate (27 male, 5 female) and 44 normal subjects (22 male, 22 female). The analysis was performed by Coben's method and the measurements were compared by Student's t-test. The following conclusions were obtained. 1. In the UCLP subjects there is definite decrease in midfacial growth, so they showed concave profile. 2. The ramus inclination angle and AR-GO of UCLP subjects are larger than normal subjects. 3. The craniofacial height of UCLP subjects is smaller than normal subjects, especially in midface. 4. The lower part of craniofacial height of UCLP subjects is larger than normal subjects.

This clinical report describes an orthodontic-prosthodontic interdisciplinary treatment for a patient with multiple missing teeth and unilateral scissors bite. A 47-year-old female presented with multiple missing posterior teeth, anterior large overjet, deep bite, and posterior scissors bite on the right premolar area. Periodontal therapy was performed and followed by orthodontic treatment. The maxillary anterior teeth were initially aligned, then two implants were placed for the left mandibular molars to increase occlusal vertical dimension. The scissors bite between the right maxillary and mandibular premolars were corrected using the miniscrews as an anchorage. Other implants were placed for the right maxillary and mandibular molars after the occlusal planes and occlusal relationship were harmonized. The patient adapted well to altered vertical dimension without any specific problems including peri-implant marginal bone loss. Interdisciplinary approach resolve the complex orthodontic-prosthodontic problems and concluded in successful results.

Tarsal coalition is an abnormal union between two or more bones of the hind- and mid-feet, which can occur at various rates from cartilaginous to osseous union. Talonavicular coalition is reported less frequently than calcaneonavicular or talocalcaneal coalition and has been associated with various abnormalities, including symphalangism, clinodactyly, ray anomaly, clubfoot, other tarsal coalitions, and a ball-and-socket ankle joint. Patients with talonavicular coalitions are usually asymptomatic and rarely require surgical treatment. We review the literature and report on a case of 59-year-old male patient with talonavicular coalition.

In 5-year male m811ese, was showed aggressive bebavior, $1.5{\times}1.0 cm$ mobile mass that was located in right iinguinal area was unilaterally palpated, and the dog was appeared no pain. In the ultrasonography, there was a 41.26{\times}119 cm$ oval hypo-echogenic mass. In the histopathohgic examination, testicular hypoplasia was observed but there was not any evidence of development of neoplasia. In bilateral cryptorchidectomy, descended testis near the left side of prepuce was incised and the retained testis directly incised and eliminated by closed method. After operation, there was a good prognosis without hemorrage and inflammation.

Chloramphenicol주사에 의한 좌골신경손상을 유발한 후 Prednisolone을 이용한 약물처치군, 전침군 및 전침과 약물을 병용한 군에서 각각 회복속도를 비교하였다. 정상보행 횟수, pinching을 통한 감각신경의 통감반응,그리고 병리조직소견 등을 죠사한 결과를 요약 하면 다음과 같다. Enrofloxacin, cefazolin, cephalexin, penicillin 등의 좌골신경주위 주사게 서는 신경마비가 관찰되지 않았으나 chloramphenicol을 주사할 경우에는 좌골신경손상으로 인한 편측성 후지마비가 유발되어 knuckling 반응을 보였다. Chloramphenicol을 투여한후 좌골신경손상에 대한 각 처치에서 정상보행 횟수는 8-12주까지는 침술처치군이 약간 중가하 였으나, 처리군간 유의성은 관찰되지 않았다. 실험기간동안 chloramphenicol 에 의한 신경손 상에 대한 각 처치군별 병리조직 소견은 호전양상이 관찰되지 아니하였다.

편측성대마비에 대한 치료방법으로 외측에 위치한 성대를 수술적으로 교정하려는 시도는 최근 활발하게 진행되어 Teflon 등을 이용한 성대내 이물주입술, 제Ⅰ형 갑상연골 성형술 및 피열연골 내전술등의 시술들이 시행되어 왔다. 저자들은 최근 후두와 종양으로 개두술을 시행받은 후 발생한 재발성 흡인성 폐렴 및 애성을 주소로 내원한 49세 남자환자를 원인 미상의 우측 편측성 성대마비로 진단하고 제Ⅰ형 갑상연골 성형술을 시행한 후 흡인성 폐렴 및 애성 등의 증상의 현저한 호전을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 술전 Maximal comfortable phonation time(MPT)이 6.24초에서 술후 17초로 증가하는 등 좋은 결과를 얻은 1례를 치험 하였기에 보고하는 바이다.

Authors have obserbed a rare case of unilateral hypertrophy occured in the left mandibular condyle of 25 years old man. In the serial roentenograms, Authors have drawn following conclusions. 1. The patients face is markedly asymmetrical. This asymmetry consisted of an elongation and widening of the left mandibular ramus, neck and head of condyle which pushed the chin to the other side. 2. Left mandibular angle is flattened and mandibular inferior border is lower than right. 3. In the relationship of the left posterior teeth, severe mesioocclusion is occured.

The harmonious lip length, residual scar and Cupid's bow width and peak with a normal side are the aims of a unilateral cleft lip repair. Also, long term amelioration without necessary of revisional surgeries may be the ideal conditions. No one method can satisfy the wide varieties of cleft lip deformities. Recently with rearrangement of paraoral muscle and some modifications, a straight line repair technique has been concerned again. Straight scar line, simplicity, and short learning curve are the advantages of the straight line technique. Here two cases of the simple straight line technique were presented and discussed for its usefulness and reliability with short reviews of previous reports.

The deformities of the auricle is rare and classified roughly into two categories as "Hyperplasia and Hypoplasia". Microtia occurs about once in every 6000 births and is twice as frequent in males as in females and the unilateral to bilateral ratio is roughly 8 : 1. Significant malformation of the auricle frequently involves the external auditory canal and the contents of the middle ear. Recently, the authors experienced a case of hypoplasia of the superior third of the right auricle of 24 year old male, with neither hearing impairment nor any other associated defect, who was surgically corrected by rotation flaps through post-auricular incision.

A female, 14-year-old mixed dog weighing 4 kg and a female,8-year-old schnauzer dog weighing 6 kg showing vaginal discharges and vomiting for a few weeks were examined for the preoperative check of anterior cruciate ligament rupture and the recheck after the surgery of nephrectomy. There were no distinct abnormal signs except for the increased CBC at schnauzer dog on blood chemistry analysis. Radiographic and ultrasonographic findings were a large abdominal mass and a cyst-like hypoechogenic or anechogenic cavitary lesion on the ovary region. These findings were consistent with an ovarian cyst. Thereafter highly suspected ovarian cysts by diagnostic imaging were supported by high estrogen concentration on hormonal assay and the results of Pathologic examination as the unilateral ovarian cysts with secondary pyometra.
