Pregnancy-related ocular diseases develop mostly in the third trimester of pregnancy. Here, we describe a case of a pregnant woman with a choroidal mass that caused a serous retinal detachment during the first trimester of pregnancy. The patient's condition resolved spontaneously after an abortion.

일본 통산성 자원에너지청은 중남미지역의 LPG 생산 및 수출 가능성등에 관해 현지조사를 실시하고, 최근 「석유가스 개발 가능성 조사보고서 」를 발표했다. 자원에너지청은 일본의 LPG공급이 거의 수입에 의존하고 있으며, 특히 중동지역에서의 수입이 80%로 편중되어 있기 때문에 수입원의 다변화 정책을 표명하고 있다. 이 조사는 일본 LPG 협회내에 「석유가스개발 가능성 조사위원회 」를 설치하여, 멕시코, 베네수엘라 및 미국을 중심으로 LPG의 생산동향 및 수출여력의 가능성 등에 관한 사전에 자료를 수집ㆍ분석한후, 조사단을 파견하여 2주간에 걸쳐 현지조사를 할 것이다. 다음 내용은 이 조사결과를 요약한 것이다. Over several decades, a hierarchical cancer stem cell (CSC) model has been established in development of solid cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). In terms of this concept, HCCs originate from liver CSCs. Clinically HCCs show a wide range of manifestations from slow growth to very aggressive metastasis. One of the reasons may be that liver CSCs originate from different cells. This review describes the basic concept of CSCs and the cellular origin of liver CSCs.

족부의 교정을 위해서는 비정상적인 상태 및 원인 그 치료법에 대해서 충분히 이해해야 할 것으로 생각되며, 비 척행족에 대해서는 먼저 정확한 원인 인자의 파악과 수술전 평가, 수술의 선택, 수술의 범위등을 정해야 한다. 이렇게 함으로써 변형에 대한 충분한 교정이 가능하며, 수술후 예후가 좋은 척행족으로 될 것이다. 그리고 위에서 밝힌 치료의 원칙은 변하지 않겠지만, 관절 고정술을 대체하여 다른 남은 관절에 영향을 주지 않으면서 더 많은 유연성을 가질 수 있는 기능있는 족부를 만들 수 있는 새로운 수술방법이(관절 치환술등) 더 개발되어 져야할 것으로 생각된다.

Pulmonary tumor thrombotic microangiopathy (PTTM) is a rare but fatal complication of cancer and causes pulmonary hypertension and acute/subacute right heart failure. PTTM is most commonly associated with gastric cancer and more rarely associated with pancreatic cancer. We report a case of progressive right heart failure associated with clinically diagnosed pancreatic cancer, suggesting PTTM.

Intercostal nerve injury is known to occur during thoracotomy; however, rectus abdominis muscle atrophy has rarely been reported. We describe a 52-year-old man who underwent primary closure of esophageal perforation and lung decortication via left thoracotomy. He was discharged 40 days postoperatively without any complications. He noticed an abdominal bulge 2 months later, and computed tomography revealed left rectus abdominis muscle atrophy. We report thoracotomy induced denervation causing rectus abdominis muscle atrophy.

The most cases with orbital metastases have been reported in patients with a prior established diagnosis of cancer and widespread systemic involvement. However, ocular symptoms can be developed as an initial presentation of cancer in patients without cancer history. We report a case of rapid progression from trochlear nerve palsy to orbital apex syndrome as an initial presentation of advanced gastric cancer.
