Catalytic activity changes of perovskite catalysts were examined with their A-site substitution. For the preparation of catalysts, Mn was used for B-site component and La, Ce, Sr, Ba, Ca, Ag were used for A-site component of the perovskite $catalysts(ABO_3)$ The effect of calcination temperature on methane combustion and perovskite structure was also investigated. The surface area and adsorbed oxygen species were tested with BET apparatus and $O_2-TPD$, respectively. Perovskite catalysts whose A-site was partially substituted needed higher calcination temperature than un-substituted one to form the perovskite structure. From $O_2-TPD$ experiment, it was found that methane combustion activity was directly related to the oxygen desorbing ability of the catalysts. The prepared catalyst(LM-7) was stable at $600^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours of reaction.
At present studies, we are going to suggest the new type of Perovskite derived catalysts which modify the defects of transition metals impregnated. Perovskite type catalyst is a typical mixed metal oxides, and there are "defect"s (from like that oxygen, cation, crystallic structure) were made by difference from composition, preparing method and so forth. And because this, its electro-magnetic character could be much changed. By using this phenomena, it could utilize the modification of adsorption/desorption characters as well as the catalytic activities in NOx reduction. Because perovskite type catalyst can exchange the metal of the each lattice site freely and it is possible to represent the peculiar.

An application of the optoacoustic detection method to investigate the catalytic effect of a perovskite, $Gd_{1-x}Sr_xCoO_{3-y}$ (x = 0.00, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75) system, in the oxidation reaction of CO is described. The optoacoustic signals Of $CO_2$ produced from the oxidation reaction were measured for differing x values in $Gd_{1-x}Sr_xCoO_{3-y}$. By monitoring optoacoustic signals with respect to the time, the concentration ratios of CO and $O_2$, and the temperature, the kinetic information on the catalytic properties of the perovskite for CO oxidation reaction can be obtained. The effect of Sr substitution in $Gd_{1-x}Sr_xCoO_{3-y}$ has been found to show the maximum catalytic effect at x = 0.25 and the substantial increase in catalytic activity at temperatures above 200$^{\circ}C$. It demonstrates that the optoacoustic detection method allows the investigation of the integrated catalytic effect not only for the oxidation reaction of CO, but also for many reactions, in general, by continuously and directly detecting the species associated with the reactions.
Micro catalytic reactors are alternative propulsion device that can be used on a nano satellite. When used with a monopropellant, $H_2O_2$, a micro catalytic reactor needs only one supply system as the monopropellant reacts spontaneously on contact with catalyst and releases heat without external ignition, while separate supply lines for fuel and oxidizer are needed for a bipropellant rocket engine. Additionally, $H_2O_2$ is in liquid phase at room temperature, eliminating the burden of storage for gaseous fuel and carburetion of liquid fuel. In order to design a micro catalytic reactor, an appropriate catalyst material must be selected. Considering the safety concern in handling the monopropellants and reaction performance of catalyst, we selected hydrogen peroxide at volume concentration of 70% and perovskite redox catalyst of lantanium cobaltate doped with strondium. Perovskite catalysts are known to have superior reactivity in reduction-oxidation chemical processes. In particular, lantanium cobaltate has better performance in chemical reactions involving oxygen atom exchange than other perovskite materials. In the present study, a process to prepare perovskite type catalyst, $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}CoO_3$, and measurement of its propellant decomposition performance in a test reactor are described.

In this study, $ATiO_3$ (A = Ca, Sr, Ba) perovskite, which is the widely known for non $TiO_2$ photocatalysts, were synthesized using sol-gel method. And Ni was added at the A site of $ATiO_3$ by using that it is easy to incorporate. The physicochemical characteristics of the obtained $ATiO_3$ and Ni-$ATiO_3$ particles were confirmed using the X-ray diffraction (XRD) UV-visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), the $N_2$ adsorption-desorption isotherm measurement, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The $H_2$ was produced using the photolysis of MeOH. Using the Ni-$ATiO_3$ photocatalysts, $H_2$ production was higher than using the $ATiO_3$ photocatalysts. Especially, $273.84mmolg^{-1}$$H_2$ was produced after 24 h reaction over the Ni-$SrTiO_3$. Also in the water (0.1 M KOH) with the Ni-$SrTiO_3$, $H_2$ production was $961.51mmolg^{-1}$ after 24 h reaction.

Solid oxide fuel cell has received more attention recently due to the fuel flexibility via internal reforming. Commonly used Ni/YSZ anode, however, can be easily deactivated by carbon coking in hydrocarbon fuels. The carbon deposition problem can minimize by developing alternative perovskite anode. This study is focused on improving conductivity and catalytic activity of the perovskite anode by introducing rGO (reduced graphene oxide). Sr0.92Y0.08TiO3(SYT) anode with perovskite structure was synthesized with 1wt% of rGO. The presence of rGO during anode fabricating process and cell operation is confirmed through XPS and Raman analysis. The maximum power density of rGO/SYT anode improved to 3 times in H2 and 6 times in CH4 comparing to that of SYT anode due to the high electrical conductivity and good catalytic activity for CH4.

CO oxidation and selective CO oxidation of $La_xCe_{1-x}Co_yCu_{1-y}O_{3-{\alpha}}$ perovskite(x=1, 0.9, 0.7. 0.5; y=1, 0.9, 0.7, 0.5) were investigated. For CO oxidation, catalytic activities were studied according to different preparation conditions such as pH and calcination temperature. The influence of the change of the $O_2$ concentration for selective CO oxidation was studied, too. The substitution of Ce for La improved the catalytic activity for CO oxidation and selective CO oxidation and best activity was observed for $La_{0.7}Ce_{0.3}CoO_3$ prepared at pH 11 and calcined at $600^{\circ}C$. The temperature of 90% CO conversion for CO oxidation using $La_{0.7}Ce_{0.3}CoO_3$ was $230^{\circ}C$. In contrast to the enhancement effect by Ce substitution, the partial substitution of Cu for Co in $LaCo_yCu_{1-y}O_{3-{\alpha}}$ decreased catalytic activities for CO oxidation reaction compared to that using $LaCoO_3$. For selective CO oxidation, the best CO conversion was 66% at $230^{\circ}C$ for $La_{0.7}Ce_{0.3}CoO_3$. The CO conversion of $La_{0.7}Ce_{0.3}CoO_3$ was greatly increased from 66% to 91% as increasing $O_2$ concentration from 1% to 2%.

[ $La_{0.5}Ce_{0.5}Co_{1-x}Cu_xO_{3-{\alpha}}$ ](X=0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5) perovskites were prepared by coprecipitation method at pH 7 or pH 11 and its catalytic activity of selective CO oxidation was investigated. The characteristics of these catalysts were analyzed by $N_2$ adsorption, X-ray diffraction(XRD), SEM, $O_2$-temperature programmed desorption(TPD). The pH value at a preparation step made effect on particle morphology. The smaller particle was obtained with a condition of pH 7. The better catalytic activity was observed using catalysts prepared at pH 7 than pH 11. The maximum CO conversion of 98% was observed over $La_{0.5}Ce_{0.5}Co_{0.7}Cu_{0.3}O_{3-{\alpha}}$ at $320^{\circ}C$. Below $200^{\circ}C$, the most active catalyst was $La_{0.5}Ce_{0.5}Co_{0.9}Cu_{0.1}O_{3-{\alpha}}$, of which conversion was 92% at $200^{\circ}C$. By the substitution of Cu, the evolution of ${\alpha}$-oxygen was remarkably enhanced regardless of pH value at preparation step according to $O_2$-TPD. Among the different ${\alpha}$-oxygen species, the oxygen species evolved between $400^{\circ}C$ and $500^{\circ}C$, gave the better catalytic performance for selective CO oxidation including $La_{0.5}Ce_{0.5}CoO_3$ in which Cu was absent.

NiO and Co3O4-doped porous La(CoNi)O3 perovskite oxides were prepared from excess Ni addition by a hydrothermal method using porous silica template, and characterized as bifunctional catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) for Zn-air rechargeable batteries in alkaline solution. Excess Ni induced to form NiO and Co3O4 in La(CoNi)O3 particles. The NiO and Co3O4-doped porous La(CoNi)O3 showed high specific surface area, up to nine times of conventionally synthesized perovskite oxide, and abundant pore volume with similar structure. Extra added Ni was partially substituted for Co as B site of ABO3 perovskite structure and formed to NiO and Co3O4 which was highly dispersed in particles. Excess Ni in La(CoNi)O3 catalysts increased OER performance (259 mA/㎠ at 2.4 V) in alkaline solution, although the activities (211 mA/㎠ at 0.5 V) for ORR were not changed with the content of excess Ni. La(CoNi)O3 with excess Ni showed very stable cyclability and low capacity fading rate (0.38 & 0.07 ㎶/hour for ORR & OER) until 300 hours (~70 cycles) but more excess content of Ni in La(CoNi)O3 gave negative effect to cyclability.
