Studies on Characteristics of Pressure Regulation System for Simulating Turbo Pump Unit (터보펌프 모사를 위한 압력조절계의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper has been conducted to design for pressure regulation system. to simulate for performance of turbo pump unit using AMESim(Advanced Modeling Environment for Simulation of Engineering Systems). With optimized of system, pressure regulation system has been confirmed dynamic characteristics of transient and steady states range based on static modeling of open type turbo pump fed engine system. These results can be utilized to verify for performance test facility of propulsion control system for analysis on control valves, review of the fundamental principle on the control logic and certificating engine feeding system.

  • 로켓 엔진 시스템에는 가압가스로 추진제를 엔진으로 공급하는 가압 시스템과 터보펌프를 이용해 엔진으로 고압의 추진제를 공급하는 터보펌프 시스템으로 나눌 수 있으며 터보펌프 시스템은 다시 Gas Generator를 이용하는 개방형 엔진과 Prebumer를 이용한 폐쇄형 엔진인 다단 엔진으로 구분할 수 있다. 로켓의 엔진 시스템은 Turbine, Turbopump, Gas Generator, Thrust Chamber, Tube, Valve, Propellant Tank 등 각 구성품 간에 서로 상호간섭이 매우 심한 공정이다 로켓 엔진 시스템은 이와 같은 상호간섭에 의해 추력 제어 및 혼합비 제어, 추진제 소진 제어 적용 시 정확하고 강인한 제어를 수행하여야 한다. 이를 위해 정확한 동특성 모델을 구축하는 것이 중요하며 모델을 통해 적절한 제어 시스템을 선택하여야 한다. 그러나 현재 국내에는 이에 대한 연구가 미미하며 해외의 경우 로켓은 특수 분야에 속함으로 공개되어 있지 않다. 로켓에 대한 개발 연구에 있어서는 위와 같은 작업이 선행되어야 하며 이에 대한 선행 연구로 한국항공우주연구원에서 Gas Generator를 이용한 개방형 터보펌프 엔진 시스템에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Gas Generator를 이용한 개방형 터보펌프 엔진시스템에 대한 동특성 모델을 구성하였다. 배관부, 터빈, 펌프, 밸브, Gas Generator, 재생냉각, 추력연소실 등 엔진 시스템을 구성하는 구성품에 대한 동특성 모델을 구성하였으며 이를 matlab의 simulink를 통해 각 구성품을 연결하여 최종 엔진시스템의 동특성 모델을 구성하였다. 구성된 동특성 모델을 통해 각종 변화(추진제 밀도 변화, 추력 변화, 혼합비 변화 등)에 대한 엔진 시스템 변화를 예측하여 정확한 엔진 시스템에 대한 이해를 넓혔으며 추력 제어 및 혼합비, 추진제 소진 제어를 최적으로 할 수 있는 제어 시스템 구축을 위한 기초 자료로 이용할 수 있을 것이다.

Influence of valve plate configuration on torque ripple of a bi-directional bent-axis type hydraulic piston pump (양방향 회전형 사축식 유압 피스톤 펌프의 벨브 플레이트 형상이 토크 맥동에 주는 영향)

  • The torque ripple of the hydraulic pumps for the Electro-hydrostatic Actuators can disturb the cylinder position control under slewing speed operation condition. In principle, the periodic change of the reaction torque generated by a piston type pump is highly dependent on the waveform of its cylinder chamber pressure. In case of uni-directional pumps operating at constant speed, the transient overshoot and rising slope of the cylinder pressure can be adjusted by the precompression angle and notch shape of their valve plates. Therefore, the influence of the valve plate geometry on the torque ripple magnitude of a bent-axis type piston pump for EHA application was investigated in this study. The results showed that any improvement of the torque ripple of such a bi-directional pump can not be achieved by modifying the valve plate geometry, regardless of its operation speed.

Pressure Control of Brake Circuit with Piezoelectric-hydraulic Pump Using Pressurization/Depressurization Characteristics (압전유압펌프가 적용된 브레이크 회로의 가감압 특성을 이용한 압력 제어)

  • In this paper, an equivalent brake hydraulic circuit with a piezoelectric hydraulic pump was constructed, and load pressure control for better pressurization/depressurization characteristics was conducted. To understand pressurization/depressurization characteristics of the equivalent hydraulic circuit, the relation between the load pressure and the input voltage was revealed experimentally. Experiments were also conducted to observe effect of the solenoid valve on depressurization characteristics. In the pressurization experiment, it was validated that transient response time required to achieve desired load pressure may be reduced through voltage control to change pressurization gradient. By applying the valve on/off time control and voltage control, it was also possible to reduce response time in the depressurization process. Therefore, transient response time may be improved within 10ms for pressurization and within 30 ms for depressurization using the control technique suggested in this study. The load pressure control method proposed in this study is useful for controlling load pressure of a hydraulic brake system with the piezoelectric hydraulic pump.

Structural Controls on Crustal Fluid Redistribution and Hydrothermal Gold Deposits: A Review on the Suction Pump and Fault Valve Models (지각 내 열수 재분배와 금광상 형성의 구조적 제어: 석션 펌프 및 단층 밸브 모델에 대한 리뷰)

  • Hydrothermal gold deposits are evidence of intensive fluid flow through fault zones, and the resultant vein structures and textures reflect the fluid redistribution mechanism. This review introduces the suction pump and fault valve models as fluid circulation mechanisms causing hydrothermal gold deposits in the frameworks of the concepts of fault mechanics. The suction pump and fault valve models describe faulting-driven heterogeneous fluid flow and related vein formation mechanisms, accompanied by the cycles of (1) stress accumulation and fluid pressure build-up and (2) seismic rupture and stress/fluid pressure release. The models are available under different geological environments (stress conditions), and the vein structures and textures representing the mechanisms have similarities and differences. The suction pump and fault valve models must help better to interpret the origins of hydrothermal gold deposits in Korea and improve the efficiency of further exploration.

  • Hydraulic systems are widely used as a power transfer and/or power control system due to its flexibility, controllability, accuracy and high power density. Valve controlled and/or pump capacity controlled systems are normally adopted as a control device, but nowadays pump speed controlled systems are emerging as a new energy-efficient hydraulic control system. In this paper the pump speed controlled system for the cylinder position control of a counter balance circuit is investigated by simulation study and position control experiments were carried out. As a result, the possibility and efficiency of the pump speed controlled system were verified.

A Study on the High Pressure Pump Simulation Model of a Diesel Injection System (디젤 분사시스템의 고압펌프 시뮬레이션 모델에 대한 연구)

  • The high pressure pump of a diesel injection system compresses the fuel supplied at low pressure into high pressure fuel and maintains the fuel of the common rail at the required pressure level according to the engine operating conditions. The high pressure pump is required to operate normally in order to compress the fuel to a high pressure of 2000 bar during the entire lifetime of the vehicle. Consequently, a suitable design technique, material durability and high precision machining are required. In this study, the high pressure pump simulation model of a 1-plunger radial piston pump is modelled by using the AMESim code. The main simulation parameters are the displacement, flow rate and pressure characteristics of the inlet and outlet valves, cam torque characteristics, and operating characteristics of the fuel metering valve and overflow valve. In addition, the operating characteristics of the pump are simulated according to the parameter changes of the hole diameter and the spring initial force of the inlet valve. The simulation results show that the operation of the developed pump model is logically valid. This paper also proposes a simulation model that can be used for current pump design changes and new pump designs.

Hybrid control of the swash plate-type variable displacement hydraulic piston pump for an EHA (EHA용 가변용적형 사판식 유압 피스톤 펌프의 하이브리드 제어)

  • In this paper a new hybrid-type control system is proposed which reduces the pump speed of an electro-hydraulic actuator consisting of a pressure-compensated variable displacement piston pump and a valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder, whenever the flow rate demand is low. In order to avoid interfering with the pressure regulator which also has an effect on swash plate angle, the pump speed is changed in proportion to the mean value of the speed component of position commands. Additionally a pressure switch is employed to prevent the system pressure from getting lower than a reference value. Based on computer simulation & experimental results, it is shown that the hybrid control can save the idling power up to 44% at a stand-by mode by reducing the pump speed from 1,800 rpm to 600 rpm without affecting the dynamic response of the electro-hydraulic actuator.

  • 화력발전소 보일러의 급수량은 유출되는 증기량에 맞추어 자동 조절된다. 유출 증기량이 변하는 상황에서도 이에 상응하는 급수량은 실시간으로 조절되어야 한다. 증기량과 급수량에 차이가 있으면 보일러의 보유 수량과 드럼의 수위가 변하게 되므로, '드림수위를 일정하게 유지하는 것'이 급수량제어의 목표라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 실제 운용되고 있는 설비를 대상으로 고찰한 내용이며, 급수펌프 구동력으로는 중기터빈을 사용한다. 증기터빈과 급수펌프는 같은 축으로 연결되어있으며, 급수량 조절은 급수펌프의 회전속도를 제어함으로써 이루어진다. 터빈에 사응되는 증기는, 고압과 저압 2종류이며, 저압 증기가 부족한 경우에 고압증기를 사용하는 구성으로 되어있다. 증기 밸브의 유량 특성에는 비선형성을 많이 포함하고 있었다. 이 외에도 급수펌프가 갖는 비선형성을 분석하였으며, 이 특성들을 모두 종합한 '증기터빈 속도제어기 튜닝 곡선'을 제시하였다

Changes in The Pressure-Flow Control Characteristics of Shunt Valves by Intracranial Pressure Pulsation (뇌압 펄스에 의한 션트밸브의 압력-유량제어 특성의 변화)

  • Shunt valves used to treat patient with hydrocephalus were numerically simulated to investigate influence of pressure pulsation on their flow control characteristics. We modeled flow orifice through the shunt valve and imposed pulsating pressure and valve diaphragm movement to compute flow through the valve. The results of our study indicated that flow rates increased more than 40% by introducing pressure pulsation and diaphragm movement on the shunt valve. Our results demonstrate the pressure-flow control characteristics of shunt valves implanted above human brain may be quite different from those obtained by syringe pump test just after manufacture that induces uniform pressure.
