  • Korean universities have selected candidates through admission officer system since 2009. However, the universities now have to settle several problems that they faced at the first stage of the system. Therefore, this research, taking the admission screening data of J University as examples, aims to discuss how differently the weight of the screening factors appears depending on the subjects related to college entrance, such as parents, teachers, and admission officers. The research indicates that the subjects have different perspectives about entrance screening requisites. Parents and teachers more value the student record that is a countable indicator than the letter of self-recommendation that is a uncountable indicator. However, it also indicates that admission officers take attitude against parents and teachers.

  • This paper attempts to select the attributes of job creation and to rank them for evaluation of companies' job creation. And the results of this paper are expected to provide the information for the polices of job creation. In doing so, this paper applies fuzzy decision making analysis that reflects ambiguity and uncertainty in decision-making process. According to the results, the weight of quality of employment is similar with that of quantity of employment. In addition, annual employment growth rate, annual net employment are ranked as first and the percentage of irregular employment, the average length of employment of all workers, average monthly wages of all workers, and employment growth over sales growth rate are next ranked.

  • In this paper, a model to evaluate the sustainability management for small and middle enterprises was suggested. Also, the if-then rules and its decision tree for pattern analysis which is obtained by fuzzy ID3 from the data of sustainability management were shown. The suggested model can be used for the evaluation tool of competition increasement of enterprises. If the enterprise can recognize that the evaluation rule can be taken advantage of the sustainability management pattern analysis using fuzzy ID3, it is expected that they can use the rule effectively for self evaluation.

  • This paper aims to evaluate the operation efficiency of Korean RCC(Rescue Co-ordination Center)/RSC(Rescue Sub-Center) using DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis). for this evaluation, this paper use the quantitative data for DEA analysis with two inputs and four outputs and a qualitative data analysis with the use of expert assessment. The tool for integrating heterogeneous data is fuzzy logic model to decision support system. In this paper, therefore, RCC/RSC evaluates the priority for operation efficiency. • The evaluation of design is one of the most important steps in design process. However, because in most cases, design evaluation has been disregarded in comparison with other steps and has been performed by designer's subjective judgment. there are few studies for the development of systematic methodology. In this study, we developed the method of design evaluation using the fuzzy theory and the multi-criteria dedsion making model. This method consists of two steps. The first step is to obtain relative importance weights of design evaluation criteria, and the second step is to obtain and integrate scores for design evaluation criteria. AHP(analytic hierarchy process) and fuzzy theory were applied to the first and the second step, respectively. We applied the developed method to the sensible evaluation of cellular phone design. As the result, we verified that the developed method could be effectively used in the evaluation of product design.

  • According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the second largest cause of cancer deaths and most frequently diagnosed cancer in women. The currently most popular method for early detection of breast cancer is the digital mammography. A mass or calcification lesion has been known as the most important clue for the diagnosis. In this paper, we propose a diagnosis approach based on fuzzy cluster knowledge base. We combine different two sources of feature data in duel OFUN-NET and produce the diagnosis result with possibility degree. We also present the experimental results on the dataset of mass and calcification lesions extracted from the public real world mammogram database DDSM. These results show higher classification accuracy than conventional methods and the feasibility as a decision supporting tool for diagnosis of digital mammogram.

  • This paper propose the Fuzzy AHP(Analytic Hierarchical Process)-based negotiation support (FAHP-NEGO) mechanism to support the dynamic negotiation process in Electronic Commerce(EC). Negotiation is a form of decision-making with two or more actively involved agents who can not make decisions independently, and therefore must make concessions to achieve a compromise. Having concerned that point, the theoretical framework of FAHP-NEGO mechanism is presented by means of fuzzy membership functions and AHP. This mechanism encompasses both qualitative and quantitative conditions, and the use of multiple negotiation procedures for solving the electronic negotiation problem, adjusting the fuzzy membership function, and restructuring the problem representation. A hypothetical example of a healthcare products purchase is given to illustrate the quality of the proposed mechanism. The results showed that the Fuzzy AHP-based negotiation support mechanism could reflect both qualitative and quantitative conditions in EC. The implications of the study for future directions of research on electronic negotiation support modeling and systems are presented.

  • It is common that the analysis of VE/LCC is performed in design phase of quay wall structures. The analysis is mainly executed based on experience and engineering sense of expert considering the selection of construction method, construction and maintenance cost. Recently there are increasing demands on the analysis that includes uncertainty and vulnerability of input parameters, for this purpose, fuzzy reliability based probabilistic VE/LCC analysis model for quay wall structures is suggested. In VE/LCC analysis for quay wall structures, the application of probabilistic analysis method give very similar results compare with those of deterministic analysis method. It is anticipated that the methodology proposed in this paper can also be utilized in the design and maintenance phase of other facilities where decision making is made for the probabilistic life cycle cost and value analysis.
