A Web-based Intelligent Tutoring System for Learner-centered learning by Level (학습자 중심의 수준별 학습을 위한 웹기반 지능형 교수 시스템)

  • 최근의 새로운 교수 학습 형태인 웹기반 교육에서의 가장 중요한 요소는 시.공간적으로 떨어져 있는 학습자의 학습 상황을 파악하고 분석하여, 학습자에게 적절한 학습내용과 과정을 제시하는 하는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 웹기반 교수 시스템에서 학습자의 수준에 맞는 적합한 학습 내용과 평가 문제를 제공하고, 그 평가 결과를 분석하여 반복학습 및 심화학습을 효과적으로 제공하고, 차기 학습을 할 경우에 이에 기초하여 적절한 학습이 이루어질 수 있도록 한다. 이를 위해 코스웨어를 설계시 학습목표의 중요도, 학습내용의 난이도, 학습목표와 학습내용과의 관련성과 각 항목의 가중치를 고려한 퍼지 함수에 의해 퍼지 소속성을 가진 퍼지 언어 변수로 각 프레임에 대한 수준을 표현한다. 또한, 학습의 평가도 문제의 난이도, 관련학습 자료의 난이도, 관련 학습목표의 중요도, 각각의 관련성을 고려하여 퍼지 함수에 의해 언어 변수로 평가된다. 이와 같이 퍼지 함수를 이용함으로써 학습자의 수준을 분석하고, 이에 적절한 학습 및 평가 내용을 제공하는데 여러가지 다양하고 불확실한 요소들을 고려하여 처리함으로써 보다 융통성 있고 효과적인 교수 학습 방법이 될 수 있다.

A Study on Virtual University using Fuzzy Rules (퍼지 규칙을 이용한 가상대학 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 난이도를 고려한 학생의 성적을 퍼지 규칙 및 신경망을 이용해서 자신의 취약한 과목 및 이해도를 측정할 수 있는 알고리즘을 이용해서 모의실험을 하였다. 모의 실험결과 난이도가 표준보다 쉽거나 어렵게 출제 되었을 때에도 학생의 합격점수를 꼭 60점이 아니라 난이도가 어려운 경우에는 40점도 합격을 할 수 있고, 난이도가 쉬운 경우에는 80점도 불합격시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 특히, 똑같은 60점 이상을 취득해서 합격한 학생일 지라도, 본 논문에서는 각 과목당, 단위별 학습과정의 문제를 모두 틀렸거나 점수가 매우 낮은 경우에는 다음 학습 진도를 나가기 전에, 경고 메시지를 출력할 수 있기 때문에 학생 자신이 어떤 부분이 취약한지를 알 수 있는 알고리즘을 개발하였다.

  • Currently, The failure of construction project is increasing to be caused by a changing construction environment. According to this circumstances, Researches of project success factors affecting performance have been presented to develop strategies for efficient construction project management in the construction industry. However, Conducting efficient construction project management is difficult because project manager could not know which project success factors can be improved or not. Especially, although the project characteristics were derived the level of difficulty for performance, research of the project characteristics which could not be improved as influence factor to performance is lacking. Therefore, This paper has developed the Performance Predicting System(PPS) with Fuzzy set theory to establish. PPS has been developed to establish efficient project management strategies and to save time and effort. As Contractor inputs the project characteristics, PPS can predict the level of difficulty of performance.

Fuzzy Techniques to Establish Improvement Priorities of Water Pipes (상수관로 개량 우선순위 수립을 위한 퍼지 기법)

  • In this paper important factors in determining improvement priorities for water pipes were categorized into the effects of a pipe failure to entire pipe network and the characteristics of individual pipe. Subsequently, mathematical models that can quantify these factors were developed using the Fuzzy techniques. The effects of a pipe failure to entire pipe network and the characteristics of individual pipe that were estimated byFuzzy techniques were coined as Fuzzy Importance Index and Fuzzy Characteristic Index, respectively. The Fuzzy Characteristic Index was further categorized into Fuzzy Deterioration Index and Fuzzy Difficulty Index. Considerations were given to applying weights to specific factors in the developed model depending on the circumstances of model applications. To provide an example of the methodology an example pipe network, Net3, of the EPANET program was used. The Fuzzy Importance Index (FII) and Fuzzy Deterioration Index (FDI) were calculated for the Net3 network by considering the hydraulic effects of a pipe failure on the entire pipe network and the pipe deterioration as one of the individual pipe characteristics. Subsequently, the improvement priorities of the pipes in the Net3 pipe network were established based on the FII and FDI.

  • In this thesis we have developed an algorithm to evaluate each student's level of understanding and find out which subjects they are not good at when they get on-line lectures at a cyber university. This algorithm is based on fuzzy logic using each student's scores adjusted according to the level of difficulty. In addition, we also introduced a "duplex intellectual lecturing system" and an "evaluation method based on the level of understanding." With the duplex intellectual lecturing system students can ask questions on line at a cyber university and under the new evaluation method, there is no need for students to move between classes. As a result of a computer simulation test, the duplex on-line lecturing system has proven to be more effective than the current one-way cyber lecturing system.

  • This paper proposes a web-based adaptive tutoring system based on fuzzy set that provides learning materials and questions dynamically according to students' knowledge state, and gives advices for the learning after an evaluation. For this, we design a courseware knowledge structure systematically and then construct a fuzzy level set on the basis of it considering importance of learning targets, difficulty of learning materials and relation degree between learning targets and learning materials. Using the fuzzy level set, our system offers learning materials and questions to adapt to individual students. Moreover, a result of the test is evaluated with fuzzy linguistic variable. Appling the fuzzy concept to the tutoring system could naturally consider and deal with various and uncertain items of learning environment thus could offer more flexible and effective instruction-learning methods.

  • This paper proposes an agent-based adaptive tutoring system that monitors learning process of learners' and provides learning materials dynamically according to the analyzed learning character. Furthermore, it uses fuzzy concept to evaluate learners' ability and to provide learning materials appropriate to the level of learners'. For this, we design a courseware knowledge structure systematically and then construct a fuzzy level set on the basis of it considering importance of learning targets, difficulty of learning materials and relation degree between learning targets and learning materials. Using agent, monitoring continually the learning process of learners 'inferencing to offer proper hints in case of incorrect answer in learning assesment, composing dynamically learning materials according to the learning feature and the evaluation of assesment, our system implements effectively adaptive instruction system. Moreover, appling the fuzzy concept to the system could naturally consider and ideal with various and uncertain items of learning environment thus could offer more flexible and effective instruction-learning methods.

  • One of the important factors in game design is difficulty adjustment. An appropriate level of difficulty makes users have a sense of challenge and interest. However, the adjustment of difficulty takes a lot of time and effort, because of its ambiguity. To solve the problem, we propose a difficulty control method using a fuzzy theory. In this paper, a simple demonstration is exemplified to verify the effectiveness of our method. Experimental results show that the difficulty of the game changes according to the user's skill.

  • There is a system of mandating the allocation of support to small business in certain percentage or more to facilitate technological innovation at small business. Trying to assess small business R&D projects, which receive a budget of three trillion won or more from the government every year, for their possibilities of success, a group of experts perform a technological evaluation with their technologies and their difficulty levels and review closely the possibilities of their commercialization and success. Used in such a review, the Analytic Hierarchy Process technique cannot make an objective judgment of evaluation criteria for evaluation items and guarantee the professionalism and fairness of small business R&D projects due to the inherent ambiguity and uncertainty of the evaluation criteria. This study proposed an R&D evaluation system based on Fuzzy-AHP for small business to provide objective weight for the evaluation items and assess the possibilities of such projects' success. The evaluation criteria were make objective as they were applied as section values based on triangular fuzzy numbers. Weight was assigned and applied according to the management guidelines of supportive projects for small business' technological development so that it could be reflected on actual assessment. The findings of the study will be helpful for reflecting the scoring weight of these evaluation items again when an expert is appointed for a new project and guaranteeing the professionalism and fairness of small business R&D project based on them.
