Properties of Undispersed Underwater Mortar Using the Expansive Additives and Fly Ash (팽창재 및 플라이애쉬를 이용하는 수중불분리 모르터의 특성)

  • Existing cast in place piles made by grouting cement mortar have many problems that cracks by autogeneous and drying shrinkage bring about the deterioration of force for piles, segregations by the submersion of ground water occur and also, high cement contents lead to rise the manufacturing cost. Therefore, this study is intended to investigate the mechanical properties of high performance mortar, incorporating expansive additives and fly ash. for cast in place piles. According to the experimental results, as the contents of expansive additives increase in mortar mixture, fluidity decrease and air contents shows inverse tendency. Setting time is delayed. Although compressive strength at 7days shows a decline tendency. compressive strength at 28days and 91days increase slightly with 5% of expansive additives. As fly ash increase in mortar mixture, high fluidity is shown, air contents increase and setting time is delayed at fresh state, and additives are, the larger length change is, whereas shrinkage decrease with the increase of fly ash.

Autogenous Shrinkage and Fundamental Properties of the High Strength Mortar Containing Waste Vegetable Oil (폐식용유를 사용한 고강도 모르터의 자기수축 및 공학적 특성)

  • The objective of this paper is to explore the possibility of reuse of waste vegetable oil (WO) as an autogenous shrinkage reducer for high strength concrete and to compare the amount of autogenous shrinkage of the mortar using existing shrinkage reducing agent(SR) and expansive additives(EA). According to test results, as the dosages of WO increased, flow value exhibited to decrease, while the use of SR increased flow value. For the effect of WO on strength, although the use of SR and WO resulted in a slight decrease in compressive strength at early age, at 91 days they had similar strength level of the plain mixture. For autogenous shrinkage, as expected, the addition of WO, SR and EA resulted in a decrease of autogeneous shrinkage considerably especially, WO had superiority in autogenous shrinkage reducing effect compared with the case of SR and EA.

  • The expansion work that is wasted through the irreversible expansion through the PC valve of decompression process of the natural gas governor station can be recovered by replacing the process by an isentropic expansion. The energy and exergy analyses for the two decompression process models of power producing and current decompression process model are presented. Analysis results showed that the exergy by gas supply is 56.29%, the exergy by producing power is 32.12 % in case of preheating system and 22.52% in case of non-preheating system. The dead exergy at the PCV is generated much more network. As these results, the usefulness of exergy analysis is verified.

  • This study aims to observe the swelling representative rocks in Korea and to suggest improvements in the use of test methods and prior analysis in relation to the weathering of rocks. The swelling test and analysis were performed on the drilling cores obtained for the ground investigation at the domestic highway construction site. For the method of determining the absorption expansion index of rocks, the method proposed in "Standard Methods for Sample Collection and Specimen Preparation" of ISRM and Korean Rock Engineers Standard Rock Test Method was used. The specimen for the measurement of the expansion displacement was cylindrical with a height of 10 cm and a diameter of 5 cm. The existing swelling analysis method evaluates the sensitivity to weathering by using the maximum expansion displacement, but since the classification by bedrock grade is unclear, it is reasonable to use the rate of change of the expansion displacement according to the immersion time. It is necessary to conduct an experiment to distinguish between weathering and fault deterioration. In addition, long-term weathering prediction technology for each cancer type is needed through the expansion displacement analysis of the chemical weathering stage.

  • 본 연구에서는 온도의 상승에 의하여 부피가 팽창하는 열팽창 고무 치공구의 팽창 특성을 이용하여 열경화성 복합재료를 경화하고 압축하는 과정을 실험과 모델링을 통하여 해석하였으며, 열가소성 복합재료의 함침공정을 연구하였다. 열팽창 고무치공구가 사용되는 닫힌계와 열린계에서 예상되는 압력을 이론적으로 유도하였고, 경화가 수반되는 과정에 있어서는 실험을 통하여 열팽창치공구와 프리프레그가 나타내는 압력을 측정하였다. 온도가 상승하고 경화가 수반되는 경우에 등속도 압축실험에 의하여 얻어지는 응력-변형율 곡선은 비선형점탄성 특성을 보여주었는데, 본 연구에서는 Maxwell모델을 KWW(Kohlrausch-Williame-Watts)식으로 변형시킨 모델식을 이용하여 이를 매우 정확하게 표현할 수 있었다. 또한 고무치공구를 이용하여 열가소성 수지의 복합재료 성형공정을 실험하였고, 중성자 레디오그래피 촬영을 통하여 기공의 분포를 관찰하였다.

  • 벌크형태의 태양전지 기판을 대체할 목적으로 연성기판을 적응한 태양전지 개발이 활발하게 진행되고 있으며, 주재료는 플라스틱 기판, 금속기판 등이 있다 그러나 기존의 연성기판인 플라스틱의 경우 열과, 내구성, 화학약품에 약하다는 단점이 있으며, 금속기판은 높은 생산원가, 박막화의 어려움 등의 문제를 안고 있다 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해 전주성형법으로 제조된 철-니켈계 연성기판을 개발하였다. 이 연성기판의 경우 고온의 공정조건에서도 열팽창율이 플라스틱 기판보다 낮으며, 기존의 금속기판 보다 저렴한 생산단가로 쉽게 극박화 할 수 있다는 것이다. 전주성형법을 적용하여 40Ni, 45Ni, 52Ni 연성기관을 제조하였으며, TMA 장비를 사용하여 각 연성기판의 열팽창 계수를 측정한 결과 6.36, 6.78, $10.93{\mu}m/m^{\circ}C$로 기존의 연성기판인 플라스틱, 금속에 비해 낮은 열팽창 계수를 가짐으로서 고온 공정 중에 안정성 요구를 충분히 충족시킬 수 있다.

Manufacturing and Physical Properties of Composite Board with Sawdust and Orange Peels (톱밥과 귤박을 이용한 혼합보드제조 및 물성)

  • This study was carried out to explore a new application of board and obtain fundamental properties for producing composite board from sawdust and orange peels. As the mixing rate of orange peels increased from 10% to 40%, water absorption, thickness swelling, modulus of rupture and brinell hardness decreased as follows : 94.1%~86.5%, 27.2%~18.0%, $65.1kgf/cm^2{\sim}39.2kgf/cm^2$ and $195.3kgf/cm^2{\sim}180.3kgf/cm^2$, respectively. As the density of board increased from $0.4g/cm^3$ to $0.8g/cm^3$, thickness swelling, modulus of rupture and brinell hardness increased as follows: 6.4%~17.9%, $4.2kgf/cm^2{\sim}96.6kgf/cm^2$ and $40.4kgf/cm^2{\sim}196.2kgf/cm^2$, respectively. But the water absorption decreased from 149.2% to 58.6%.

Causes of Can Swelling of Commercially Canned Fruits (과일 통조림의 팽창원인에 관한 연구)

  • Seventy nine swollen commercially canned grapes and peaches were collected from wholesale and retail outlets in Seoul area for the investigation of the causes of their swell. Hydrogen generation and microbial spoilage were the only two common causes of can swelling. Nevertheless, the spoilage profile of the two products was different. Seventeen out of twenty one canned peaches were spoiled by microorganisms, while the rest of five were swollen due to hydrogen generation. In contrast, fifty one out of fifty eight canned grapes were swollen due to hydrogen generation, while the rest of seven were spoiled by microorganisms. Seventeen yeast and five bacterial strains were isolated and only the yeasts were identified to their genera and species. Saccharomyces cerevisiae was the most frequently isolated spoilage yeast, closely followed by Torulopsis stellata. Candida parapsilosis, Pichia kluyveri, Pichia membranaefaciens, Torulopsis globosa and Torulopsis lactis-condensi were also isolated but with lower frequencies.

  • When a train enters into a tunnel, a compression wave is generated by a front nose and a expansion wave is generated by a rear tail respectively. The interaction between pressure waves and the train makes the internal and external pressure of the train change dramatically. In this paper, we had measured the internal and external pressure variations of TTX and analyzed the pressure variations as the tunnel length. Also, the rate of internal pressure variations were investigated with the current airtight condition of TTX. In short tunnels, the internal and external pressure variation were not large because the superposition of pressure waves was not happened. In long tunnels, however, the rapid and large pressure variations were shown because of the superpositions between the same sort of pressure waves, such as expansion wave and expansion wave or compression wave and compression wave. In specific length tunnels, the pressure variation and the pressure variation rates were largely lessened because the compression wave and expansion wave were superposed.

Characteristics of Shear Behavior of Remolded Nak-dong River Sandy Silt (재성형된 낙동강 모래질 실트의 전단거동 특성)

  • The results from normally consolidated isotropic drained and undrained triaxial compression tests (NCIU and NCID) on sand with high silt content were presented in this paper. The experiments were performed on specimens of Nak-dong River sand with 63% silt content under effective confined pressures, 100 kPa to 400 kPa. From test results, Sandy silt became initially compressive but eventually appeared to provide dilatancy response throughout the entire stress-strain curve The behavior of sandy silt was more difficult to characterize than that of clay and sand due to lower plastic characteristic. Especially, the samples exhibited dilatancy development during shear after failure. The shear behavior and shear strength parameters of sandy silt can be determined as stress-strain behaviors are described by the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion. The shear behaviors were observed increasing dilatancy volume change tendency with strain-softening tendency after failure. In this paper, the behavior of dilatancy depends on not only sand content but also fine content with low-cohesion during shear in the samples of sandy silt.
