The Effects of Perceived Risks on Purchase Decision Behavior among Internet Fashion Consumers (인터넷 패션소비자의 위험지각이 구매결정행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines the effects of perceived risks on purchase decision behavior among Internet fashion consumers. The study survey used a self-administered questionnaire and a total data of 244 responses were used for analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, the perceived risks consist of 6 factors, quality risk, counterfeit product risk, credit dealing risk, social/psychological risk, size and appearance risk, and delivery risk. The purchase decision behavior consist of 3 factors, delay of purchase decision, website switching, and offline conversion behavior. Second, purchase time positively affected the quality risk and credit dealing risk. Purchase frequency negatively affected the quality risk and credit dealing risk. Third, the quality risk, size and appearance risk, counterfeit product risk, and credit dealing risk positively affected the delay of purchase decisions. Quality risk and counterfeit product risk positively affected website switching. In addition, quality risk, social/psychological risk, and credit dealing risk positively affected the offline conversion behavior. Fourth, credit dealing risk negatively affected a short term purchase intention and the delivery risk negatively affected a long term purchase intention. The social/psychological risk and credit dealing risk negatively affected the repurchase intention.

The Clothing Consumption Behavior of Fast Fashion Purchaser according to Environmental Consciousness (환경의식에 따른 패스트패션 구매자의 의복소비행동에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigates clothing consumption behavior of fast fashion purchasers according to environmental consciousness. Questionnaire examined 245 males and females in Busan who experienced fast fashion product purchases. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, t-test. ANOVA, Duncan Test and ${\chi}^{2}-test$. The results are as follows. First, the result showed significant differences in environmental consciousness education according to demographic characteristics. Second, the results showed significant differences in the hedonic pursuit of purchase motivation for fast fashion products according to environmental consciousness. The low environmental awareness group pursued hedonic purchases towards the purchase motivation of fast fashion products. The results showed significant differences in fast fashion disposal behavior according to environmental consciousness; however, not for the disposal motivation of fast fashion. In the disposal behavior of fast fashion, the high environmental awareness group indicated social friendly disposal and the middle environmental awareness group indicated economical disposal. The result showed significant gender differences towards clothing consumption behavior of fast fashion according to demographic characteristics. Males and females showed significant differences in all purchase motivation factor for fast fashion products. They also showed significant differences in economical disposal towards fast fashion disposal behavior.

A Study of College Students' Consumption Behavior from the Midwest(Yunnam) in China(Part I): The Effects of Materialism on the Consumers's Attitudes and Clothing Purchase Behaviors (중국 중서부 지역(운남성) 대학생들의 소비행동 연구(제1보): 물질주의성향에 따른 소비자태도와 의복구매행동분석)

  • This study investigates the effect of demographics and materialism on the consumers's attitudes and clothing purchase behaviors. The subjects compose of 302 college students living in Yunnam, China. The mean, ANOVA, factor analysis, Duncan test were used for statistics analysis. According to our results, the factors of materialism, symbolic consumptions, and attitude toward fashion luxury products are identified: three factors of materialism (success symbols, practical living, and happiness pursuing), three factors of symbolic consumption (conspicuous, hedonic, communication), and five factors of attitudes toward fashion luxury products (quality, involvement, ostentation, luxurious aspect, pleasure). Among the demographics, gender, income, social stratification, father's education and job influenced the symbolic consumption, and desire's fashion luxury products. In addition, gender, income, social stratification, father's education and job influence the clothing selection standards and the extent of using fashion informations. Lastly, symbolic consumption, attitudes toward fashion luxury products, and apparel purchasing behaviors all proven to be significantly different among the 3 groups of materialism.

An Analysis of Adolescents' Perceived Risk on Conformity Behavior of Fashion Brand (의복구매시 청소년의 지각된 위험이 패션브랜드 동조행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to identify the effects of adolescents' perceived risk on fashion brand conformity behavior. To analyze conformable fashion brand behavior with consideration to their reference group, 6 dimensions of perceived risk were adopted as explanatory variables. Reference group means people that a person refers to when evaluating his values & behaviors. Data were collected from 672 male and female students aged between 14 and 18. Factor analysis on perceived risk resulted in 6 dimensional structures: socio-psychological, time loss, functional, fashionability loss, performance and opportunity loss risk. Fashionability loss risk positively affected adolescent fashion brand conformity behavior according to their favorite celebrities. Performance risk positively affected in consideration to their parents, while opportunity loss risk had a negative effect on the same reference group. However, socio-psychological and fashionability loss risk positively affected adolescent fashion brand conformity behavior in consideration to their friends, while performance loss risk had negative effect on the same reference group. Adolescent groups divided by the 6 dimensions of perceived risk showed meaningful differences in their fashion brand conformable behavior in consideration to their reference groups.

Analysis of Knitwear Preferences and Purchase Behavior of University Students for Pullover Design Development Based upon Baekje Traditional Patterns as Culture Oriented Clothing Products (백제전통문양을 활용한 풀오버 패션문화상품 개발을 위한 대학생의 니트웨어 선호도와 구매행동 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the knitwear preferences and purchase behaviors of university students. The subjects were 493 university students in Daejeon and Chungnam Provinces. The method of this study was a survey and measurement instruments were 34 stimuli which were manipulated pullover patterns and shapes and self-administrated questionnaire with knitwear design preference items and knitwear purchase behavior items. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, frequency analysis, Cronbach'${\alpha}$, t-test, ANOVA and $Sch{\acute{e}}ffe$ test using SPSS program. The results of the study were as follows. First, university students most preferred achromatic colors, pastel tones, solid patterns, and 100% cotton. Second, as for knitwear purchase behaviors, university students considered the esthetical factor to be most important among 4 dimensions (comfortable, esthetical, economical, and conspicuous factors) as important purchase criteria, and they used internet web sites for knitwear purchases. Third, there were significant differences in preferred pullover shape depending on neckline shape, neck depth, sleeve shape and clothing length. University students preferred the classic pullover design with V neckline, normal neck depth, set-in sleeves and normal length. Fourth, university students preferred the cloud motif and riding man motif among the 9 Baekje traditional motifs and one point small pattern on the left chest and crosswise bending pattern for pattern arrangement.

Consumer's Behaviors on the Purchase and the Laundering of Baby's Clothing (유아복의 구매와 세탁에 관한 소비자 행동)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate consumer's behaviors on the purchase and the laundering of baby's clothing according to washing machine types using by consumers. The subjects were 255 consumers with babies(0-2 years) in Korea. The data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire and analyzed using Chi-square test and multiple response analysis, and SPSS 12.0 statistics package was used. Consumers were separated into two groups according to washing machine types with general pulsator type and drum-type. Consumer's behaviors between general pulsator type group and drum-type group of washing machines were also examined. The Results of this study were as follows: 1. The purchase rate of baby's clothing was high compare to that of general clothing of family. The consumers with babies had priority on textile materials(cotton 100%) as baby's clothing. As for the consumer's behaviors between the purchase of baby's clothing and the consumer's characteristics, they showed a significant differences according to the consumer's characteristics like education level and washing machine types using by consumers. 2. The removal of soils including various foods was very important on the laundering of baby's clothing. Especially the rinsing of detergents was important on the laundering. Because they considered toxicity of detergents was high and harmful to the baby, and detergent's components such as surfactants, builders, and another additives could not removed completely with normal laundry courses by washing machines. 3. There were significant differences between general pulsator type group and drum-type group of washing machines on the purchase and the laundering of baby's clothing.

A Study on Purchasing Behavior of Shade Cosmetics (색조화장품 구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • Shade cosmetics that were considered to be women's exclusive possession, are now expanding its market to men and teenagers. As a result, development of subdivided shade cosmetics is becoming active. In these market environments consumers demand various personalized desires through beauty care, therefore enterprises have to establish marketing strategies to meet these desires. Accordingly this study aimed to provide information actually needed in cosmetics development by researching shade cosmetics in subdivision according to items and basic data that will be helpful in establishing marketing strategies of shade cosmetics. The survey was conducted among adult females with age of 20 to 26, living in Seoul and several local cities. 387 survey papers were used in the analysis among 500 survey papers distributed. The results were summarized as following. First of all, many women were doing overall makeup generally. The younger they tended to do partial makeup more and the older they tended to do overall makeup more according to the analysis on actual conditions of using shade cosmetics. Many women got information related to shade cosmetics from friends or family. This is an example of the fact that shows collecting information from human relationship such as friends and family played an important role and surrounding environment can be a factor that can have impact on purchasing behavior. Purpose of makeup was mostly to show courtesy and the younger they tend to answer that they do makeup to look beautiful. The order of the most frequently used shade makeup was makeup base>foundation>two way cake. The most important focusing point in shade makeup was the eye. In choosing colors they chose their favorites colors most frequently.

A Study on Clothing Purchase Behaviors as Related to the Fashion Lifestyle of the New Generation of Indian Women living in Mumbai (인도 여성의 패션 라이프스타일에 따른 의복구매행동 특성 연구 - 뭄바이 거주 신세대 여성을 중심으로 -)

  • This study investigates the fashion lifestyles and the effect on clothing purchase behavior by female consumers living in Mumbai India. Data were collected from 129 Indian women in their teens to thirties living in Mumbai and were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test, ${\chi}^2$-test, frequency analysis using SPSS 12.0. The results of this study are as follows. Five factors of fashion lifestyle are identified: fashion consciousness, price orientation, advertisement/brand orientation, being aware of others, and tradition orientation. Female consumers were classified into four groups based on fashion lifestyle factors: display/brand oriented group, active profit seeking group, fashion oriented group, and a tradition oriented group. There were significant differences among the fashion lifestyle groups on five criteria (latest fashion, price, commonality with existing clothing, size, and the distance to the store) out of the 13 criteria. The display/brand oriented group showed high scores on the latest fashion and size. The active profit-seeking group generally showed high scores on all five factors. The fashion oriented group showed high scores on latest fashion and commonality with existing clothing when buying clothes. Finally, the tradition oriented group showed high scores only on the distance to the shop, while they (the tradition oriented group) showed low scores on the other criteria. The examination on the actual conditions of clothing purchase among fashion lifestyle groups showed that only the monthly expenditure for clothing is significantly different. The display/brand oriented group and active profit seeking group spent more on clothing than the other two groups.

A Study on the Effects of the Shopping Propensity of Chinese Women on Determination Factors of Distribution Channels and Purchasing Patterns of Korean Cosmetics (중국여성의 쇼핑성향이 유통채널 선택요인 및 한국화장품 구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study intended to investigate correlations between the consumption tendency, determination factors of the distribution of Korean cosmetics, and purchasing patterns of Korean cosmetics. This study investigated characteristics and differences between each factor by analyzing consumption tendency, determination factors of distribution channels, and purchasing patterns of Korean cosmetics of adult women in their 20 ~ 50s who have used Korean cosmetics and reside in Beijing, China. It also, investigated the effect of the shopping propensity of consumers on determination factors of the distribution channels and purchasing patterns of Korean cosmetics. According to the results of our investigation, it was identified that 'pleasure-seeking tendency' and 'brand-seeking tendency' have postive effects on 'service', and 'pleasure-seeking tendency', 'brand-seeking tendency', and 'rational purchasing propensity' have positive effects on 'professionalism'. In regards to the effect of shopping propensity on purchasing patterns of Korean cosmetics, it was identified that 'brand-seeking tendency' has a positive effect on 'planned purchasing behavior', 'brand reputation seeking behavior', and 'dedicated purchasing behavior'. It was verified that 'rational purchasing propensity' has positive effect on 'planned purchasing behavior', 'pleasure-seeking tendency' and 'trend-seeking tendency' on 'brand reputation seeking behavior', and 'trend-seeking tendency' on 'dedicated purchasing behavior'. This study is expected to provide basic data for Korean cosmetics brands to use for improving the marketing of products entering the Chinese market by using appropriate distribution channels. These channels are determined through identifying the correlation of each factor consumption tendency of Chinese women, determination factors of the distribution channels Korean cosmetics, and purchasing patterns of Korean cosmetics.

Cosmetics Purchasing Behavior of Males Based on the Fashion Life Style (남성 패션라이프스타일에 따른 세분집단별 화장품 구매행동 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify male consumer groups according to the fashion lifestyle, to examine characteristics, needs and wants of each group, and to find out differences of cosmetics purchasing behavior among each group segment. After surveying 19-50 year old males by making a visit to college, company and home, 584 samples were analyzed by using SPSS(7.0) package program. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, crosstabs and $X^2-test$ were used to analyse collected data. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Twenty-two questionnaires using AIO fashion lifestyle variables produced seven factors; oriented fashion, flaunting brand preference, active preference, information intention, strong personality, reasonable economy and others directivity. Three groups based on oriented seven factors: personality, fashion and economy. 2. The Personality group had strong personal characters in their fashion. Men in this group prefer casual style and were represented by singles and professionals in their 30's. The fashion group pursued fashion trends, formal wears, and high-priced fashions. They were represented by singles with high-income managerial positions in their 19-29 age group. The economy group represented the largest sample in this study(54.5%). Men in this group tended to purchase fashion goods during of good fabrics at discount stores. This group represented married man with average incomes in their 40's. 3. Each of these three groups showed significant differences in cosmetics purchasing behavior. The personality group mainly purchased cosmetics on-line market because of price. The Internet tended to be their primary source of informations. They spent under 10,000won and pursued a simple and clear image. The fashion group purchased cosmetics at department stores to benefit from the knowledge of sales personal and their source of informations in the mass media. They spent over 70,000won monthly and pursued also a simple and clear image. The economy group purchased cosmetics at discount stores because of their wide assortment of products. They spent under 30,000won monthly and pursued a simple and clear image. Each of these groups currently consume different products and have a different concept of future cosmetic products.
