Nowadays, the blast method is mainly operated in the fields of the rock excavation accompanied by construction site in Korea. Blast method has many merits such as improvement of workability, reducement of operation period, and etc. However, blast operation also create much loss and troubles with the neighbours for the environmental pollutions such as the noise, blast vibration, fly rocks and dusts. Thus, the non-vibration and shallow vibration methods have been used but they have also another problems in the view of the economy and the efficiency in operation. In this study, we had made laboratory tests for the breaking of the various Rock types by White Light Thermal Stress. The tests shows that one unit consuming 500kilowatts of electricity, would go 90 feet a day in tunneling if the tunnel was 16 feet by 16 feet. Also, if a faster rate of tunneling could be handled, other white light units could be added.
This study was carried out to investigate the operational time and productivity of logging operation by chain saw, yarder attached on tractor, tower-yarder, mini-truck, mini-forwarder, and chipping operations by mini-chipper, large-chipper in order to develop the efficient logging operation system for utilization of forest-biomass. As a result, the average felling and bucking time using chain saw at the site 1 and 2 was observed to be 182.7 sec/cycle and 518.5 sec/cycle respectively. The average yarding time was 202.5 sec/cycle using yarder attached on tractor and 295.1 sec/cycle using tower-yarder. The average forwarding time was 2,073 sec/cycle using mini-truck and 2,248.4 sec/cycle using mini-forwarder. The operational time of felling and bucking using chain-saw can be delayed according to the direction of fallen trees. The selection of felling direction is very important to yarding operation because the direction between width-yarding and felling are interrelated. Productivity can be improved through educating and training operators in the yarding operations. Mini-forwarder is needed to use because of higher productivity and lower cost than mini-truck. The operational productivity of felling and bucking by chain saw was $66.96m^3/man{\cdot}day$ and $43.86m^3/man{\cdot}day$ at site 1 and 2 respectively. The yarding productivity was $5.68m^3/man{\cdot}day$ by yarder attached on tractor, $10.74m^3/man{\cdot}day$ by tower-yarder. The forwarding productivity was $21.29m^3/man{\cdot}day$ by mini-truck, $28.57m^3/man{\cdot}day$ by mini-forwarder. The chipping productivity was $4.42m^3/man{\cdot}day$ by mini-chipper, $21.87m^3/man{\cdot}day$ by large-chipper.
The 100 l culture system was made on the basis of LED light, and Nannochloropsis oculata was cultured in f/2 medium at light intensity ($100{\mu}mol/m^2/s$), culture temperature ($20^{\circ}C{\pm}1^{\circ}C$) and LD cycle (12hr). As a result, the maximum biomass of 1.07 g/l was cultured as a result of 100 l mass culture at $100{\mu}mol/m^2/s$ and 24 mg/l nitrate concentration in LED blue (475 nm). The extraction was carried out using sonicator, homogenizer and chemical method 0.5M HCl shredding method. The contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoid were 1.6, 0.5 and 0.3 mg/g cell. When using homogenizer, it was measured at 1.0, 0.6 and 0.2 mg/g cell. The chemical breakdown method of 0.5M HCl, chlorophyll a, b, and carotenoid contents were measured as 0.9, 0.8, 0 mg/g cell. The highest amount of biomass during the distruption time was measured at 3.6 mg/g cell at 15 min disintegration and acetone, 3.6 mg/g cell of acetone, methanol, and ethanol were measured as effective solvents. Concentration was measured by using microfilter, disk type continuous centrifuge and tubular type continuous centrifuge were 16.0, 1.1 and 0.5 g/l, respectively. Four kinds of equipment such as hot air dryer, vacuum dryer, spray dryer and freeze dryer were tested to optimize the drying process. As a result, the recovery rates of spray dryer and freeze dryer were 80% and 60%.
In close to downtown construction, the main problem is complaints caused by blasting vibration and noise. To reduce blasting vibration and noise, deck-charge blasting method using electronic detonator can be more secure because there is no cut-off problem. And in this method it is possible to blast in horizontal direction. In this study, the efficiency of horizontal direction deck-charge blasting method using electronic detonator is compared to that of the existing blasting method. And the possibility of applying the construction site is evaluated. As a result, the reduction of blasting vibration, noise and secondary breaking has been determined, as well as large-scale blasting in the vibration criterion can be regulated by the overall increase in blasting efficiency.
Change in atmospheric pressure produce sizable fluctuafions in wells penetrafing confined aquifers. The relationship is inverse; that is, increases in atmospheric pressure produce decreases in water levels, and conversely. When atmospheric pressure changes are expressed in terms of a column of water, the raflo of water level change to pressure change expresses the barometric efficiency of an aquifer. In the study area, aquifers are developed in the fractures, joints, bedding planes and occasionally in solufion cavities of marl interbeds. The barometric efficiency of the aquifer varies from 8 to 90%, indicating that Confined, Unconfined and Semi-Confined condifions exist locally. The barometric efficiency is characteristic of the aquifer itself and observed in the field is inversely proportional to specific storage or the storage coefficient. It is remalned in question to derive the relationship between B.E. and S.
On the paved track, the ballast is used as aggregate for the filling layer using the pre-packed concrete technique. The most important condition of aggregate is adhesive strength with mortar. To satisfy this condition, surface of aggregate should be cleaned by water or others. In a paved-track method to be introduced domestically, an environment-friendly dry-washing technology which will replace the water-washing method has been developed. A dry-washing method was designed to blast the crushed weight material with a diameter of 0.3~0.5mm at high pressure to peel the surface of the aggregate. The study was intended to enhance the washing efficiency of dry-blasting technology and to that end, the tests including blasting material, content of fine aggregate depending on time elapsed, content of chloride, LA abrasion rate and compressive strength were conducted to recommend the efficient washing material and the process.

An improved packer and injection system was developed to improve the efficiency of excavation by hydraulic rock splitting by reducing vibration and noise. Field testing of the system found hydraulic fractures limited in expansion and extension due to the loss of injection pressure by leackage from the cracks, and then the single packer applied to injection hole allowed to produce a sufficient tensile displacement for rock excavation. Numerical analysis based on the field test data could explain the development of cracks in the field experiments.

Recently, the development of tunnel reinforcement method has been required relating to the shallow tunnelling in soft ground. In this study, the improvement method on tunnel stability is proposed by evaluating the efficiency of face reinforcement which enables to control extrusion of advance core, however, it is often neglected in urban tunnelling under the poor ground conditions. Systematic pre-confinement ahead of the face improves the tunnel stability, subsequently, displacement of the crown and surface settlement can be restrained by proper method. 3-dimensional numerical analysis including horizontal reinforcement modelling on a face is applied to estimate the behaviour of a tunnel in relation to the ground and reinforcement conditions. Consequently, extrusion at the face decreases significantly after using the horizontal reinforcement and the effect of reinforcement is much increased in case of applying the supplemental reinforcement ahead of the face together. Especially, confinement effect around the tunnel and the core is proved by means of the core reinforcement in poor ground conditions.

It is necessary to minimize ground vibration and noise due to blasting work in urban environment. The blast induced ground vibration and noise are generally generated by a portion of detonation energy, where most of the energy is utilized for rock breakage and movement of rock mass. Recently a blast method utilizing U-shaped steel charge holder was suggested to reduce the ground vibration without decreasing destructive power toward the free surface. In this study, single hole blasting utilizing U-shaped steel charge holder were simulated and the stress waves caused by the detonation of explosives were monitored using AUTODYN software. In order to examine the fragmentation efficiency of the U-shaped steel charge holder, one free face blasting models which adapt the blast induced stress waves were simulated by dynamic fracture process analysis (DFPA) code. In addition, the general blasting models were also simulated to investigate the fragmentation effectiveness of the U-shaped steel charge holder in rock blasting.
