  • 다목적 함수의 최적화 문제(Multiobjective optimization problems)의 경우에는 하나의 최적해가 존재하는 것이 아니라 '파레토 최적해 집합(Pareto optimal set)'이라고 알려진 해들의 집합이 존재한다. 이러한 이상적 파레토 최적해 집합과 가까운 최적해를 찾기 위한 다양한 해탐색 능력은 진화 알고리즘의 성능을 결정한다. 본 논문에서는 게임 모텔에 기반한 공진화 알고리즘(GCEA:Game model based Co-Evolutionary Algorithm)에서 해집단의 다양성을 유지하여, 다양한 비지배적 파레토 대안해(non-dominated alternatives)들을 찾기 위한 방법을 제안한다.

  • In searching for solutions to multiobjective optimization problem, we find that there is no single optimal solution but rather a set of solutions known as 'Pareto optimal set'. To find approximation of ideal pareto optimal set, search capability of diverse individuals at population space can determine the performance of evolutionary algorithms. This paper propose the method to maintain population diversify and to find non-dominated alternatives in Game model based Co-Evolutionary Algorithm.

  • 진화 알고리즘은 여러 개의 상충하는 목적을 갖는 다목적 최적화 문제를 해결하기에 적합한 방법이다. 특히, 파레토 지배관계에 기초하여 개체의 적합도를 평가하는 파레토 기반 진화알고리즘들은 그 성능에 있어서 우수한 평가를 받고 있다. 최근의 파레토 기반 진화알고리즘들은 전체 파레토 프론트에 균일하게 분포하는 해집합의 생성을 위해 개체들의 밀도를 개체의 적합도를 평가하기 위한 하나의 요소로 사용하고 있다. 그러나 밀도의 역할은 전체 진화과정에서 중요한 요소가 되기보다는 파레토 프론트에 어느 정도 수렴된 후, 개체의 균일 분포를 만들기 위해 사용된다. 본 논문에서 우리는 파레토 지배 순위와 밀도에 대한 적응적가중치를 이용한 다목적 최적화 진화알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 진화 개체의 적합도를 평가하기위해 파레토 순위와 밀도에 대한 적응적 가중치를 적용하여 전체 진화과정에서 파레토 순위와 밀도가 전체 진화 개체집합의 상태를 고려하여 영향을 미치도록 하였다. 제안한 방법을 많은 지역해들을 포함하는 ZDT4문제에 적용한 결과 비교적 우수한 수렴 결과를 보였다.

  • Routing schemes that service applications with various delay times, maintaining the long network life time are required in wireless sensor & actor networks. However, it is known that network lifetime and hop count of trees used in routing methods have the tradeoff between them. In this paper, we propose a Pareto Ant Colony Optimization algorithm to find the Pareto tree set such that it optimizes these both tradeoff objectives. As it enables applications which have different delay times to select appropriate routing trees, not only satisfies the requirements of various multiple applications but also guarantees long network lifetime. We show that the Pareto tree set found by proposed algorithm consists of trees that are closer to the Pareto optimal points in terms of hop count and network lifetime than minimum spanning tree which is a representative routing tree.

  • This paper describes to determine optimum main particulars of warships which satisfy user's requirements in a concept design stage with minimum construction cost and maximum transportation efficiency. Present worth was used as an assessment criteria of the economical efficiency. And Pareto optimal set was used to have the optimum design.

  • In this paper, we propose a optimization approach for the Electric Locomotive Overhaul Maintenance Facility (ELOMF), which aims at the simulation optimization so as to meet the design specification. In simulation design, we consider the critical path and sensitivity analysis of the critical (dependent) factors and the design (independent) parameters for the parameter selection and reduction of the metamodel. Therefore, we construct the multi-objective non-linear programming. The objective function is normalized for the generalization of design parameter while the constraints are composed of the simulation-based regression metamodel for the critical factors and design factor's domain. Then the effective solution procedure based on the pareto optimal solution set is proposed. This approach provides a comprehensive approach for the optimization of Train Overhaul Maintenance Facility(TOMF)'s design parameters using the simulation and metamoels.

  • In this article, we propose a different modeling approach, which aims at the simulation optimization so as to meet the design specification. Generally, Multi objective optimization problem is formulated by dependent factors as objective functions and independent factors as constraints. However, this paper presents the critical(dependent) factors as objective function and design(independent) factors as constraints for the selection of design factors directly. The objective function is normalized far the generalization of design factors while the constraints are composed of the simulation-based regression metamodels fer the critical factors and design factor's domain. Then the effective and fast solution procedure based on the pareto optimal solution set is proposed. This paper provides a comprehensive framework for the system design using the simulation and metamodels. Therefore, the method developed for this research can be adopted for other enhancements in different but comparable situations.

A Study on the Reduction of Common Words to Classify Causes of Marine Accidents (해양사고 원인을 분류하기 위한 공통단어의 축소에 관한 연구)

  • The key word (KW) is a set of words to clearly express the important causations of marine accidents; they are determined by a judge in a Korean maritime safety tribunal. The selection of KW currently has two main issues: one is maintaining consistency due to the different subjective opinion of each judge, and the second is the large number of KW currently in use. To overcome the issues, the systematic framework used to construct KW's needs to be optimized with a minimal number of KW's being derived from a set of Common Words (CW). The purpose of this study is to identify a set of CW to develop the systematic KW construction frame. To fulfill the purpose, the word reduction method to find minimum number of CW is proposed using P areto distribution function and Pareto index. A total of 2,642 KW were compiled and 56 baseline CW were identified in the data sets. These CW, along with their frequency of use across all KW, are reported. Through the word reduction experiments, an average reduction rate of 58.5% was obtained. The estimated CW according to the reduction rates was verified using the Pareto chart. Through this analysis, the development of a systematic KW construction frame is expected to be possible.

  • Shape optimization of the 3-dimensional WIG airfoil with 3.0-aspect ratio has been performed by using the multi-objective genetic algorithm. The WIG ship effectively floating above the surface by the ram effect and the virtual additional aspect ratio by a ground is one of next-generation and cost-effective transportations. Unlike the airplane flying out of the ground effect, a WIG ship has possibility to capsize because of unsatisfying the static stability. The WIG ship should satisfy aerodynamic properties as well as a static stability. They tend to strong contradict and it is difficult to satisfy aerodynamic properties and static stability simultaneously. It is inevitable that lift force has to scarify to obtain a static stability. Multi-objective optimization technique that the individual objectives are considered separately instead of weighting can overcome the conflict. Due to handling individual objectives, the optimum cannot be unique but a set of nondominated potential solutions: pareto optimum. There are three objectives; lift coefficient, lift-to-drag ratio and static stability. After a few evolutions, the non-dominated pareto individuals can be obtained. Pareto sets are all the set of possible and excellent solution across the design space. At any selections of the pareto set, these are no better solutions in all design space
