  • 한 유역의 수계망조직은 그 유역의 기상학적 및 지상학적 특성의 복합효과에 의하여 형성되는 것이며 유역의 주요수문량인 유량은 이들 하천형태학적 특성에 의하여 큰 영향을 받게된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한강유역의 하천형태학적 특성을 양적으로 분석한 후 이들 형태학적 특성을 유역의 유출특성과 상관시켰다. 유출특성으로 선정한 유량은 이수목적을 위한 분석대상이 되는 일 평균 유량과 수질오염통제의 기준이 되는 7일 10년 유량(7-day 10-year low flow)으로서 다음과 같은 절차에 의하여 하천형태학적 특성인자와 상관시켰다.

Numerical Study of Flow Characteristics in a Solid Particle Incinerator for Various Design Parameters of Injectors (고체 입자 소각로에서 분사기의 설계 인자에 따른 유동 특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • The flow characteristics in a solid particle incinerator are investigated numerically for high burning rate of wastes. The studied incinerator employs both a swirl flow used in the furnace of powerplants and a design concept applied to a rocket combustor. As the first step, the non-reactive flow field is analyzed in the incinerator with primary and secondary injectors through which solid fuel and air are injected. The deflection angle of a primary injector, inclination angle of a secondary injector, and gap between the two types of injectors are selected as design parameters. The swirl number is adopted for evaluating the degree of swirl flow and estimated over wide ranges of three parameters. The swirl number increases with deflection angle, but it is affected little by inclination angle. Recirculation zones are formed near the injectors, and their size affects the swirl number. The swirl number decreases with the zonal size of recirculation. From the numerical results, the design points can be found with strong swirl flow.

Microbial Metagenome of Airborne Particulate Matter: Methodology, Characteristics, and Influencing Parameters (대기입자상물질의미생물메타게놈: 분석방법, 특성및영향인자)

  • The microbial metagenome characteristics of bioaerosols and particulate matter (PM) in the outdoor atmospheric environment and the effects of climate and environmental factors on the metagenome were analyzed. The concentrations of bacteria and fungi in bioaerosols and PM were determined by sampling different regions with different environmental properties. A variety of culture-independent methods were used to analyze the microbial metagenome in aerosols and PM samples. In addition, the effects of meteorological and environmental factors on the diversity and metagenomes of bacteria and fungi were investigated. The survival, growth, and dispersal of the microorganisms in the atmosphere were markedly affected by local weather conditions and the air pollutant concentration. The concentration of airborne microorganisms increased as the temperature increased, but their concentration decreased in summer, due to the effects of high temperatures and strong ultraviolet rays. Humidity and microbial concentration were positively correlated, but when the humidity was too high, the dispersion of airborne microorganisms was inhibited. These comprehensive data on the microbial metagenome in bioaerosols and PM may be used to understand the roles and functions of microorganisms in the atmosphere, and to develop strategies and abatement techniques to address the environmental and public health problems caused by these microorganisms.

  • Many blasting engineers develope their own approach to define how to blast different rockmass properties. The problem is that most of these approaches haven't been formalized in any systematic manner and they depend mainly on casual observation of local conditions by an experienced blaster. In this paper blastability index developed by Lilly is adopted to induce powder factor for blast design considering local conditions. With this approach blastability scheme can be considered joint properties as well as rockmass represented local conditions. This approach is also expected to supplement the shortcomings of existing blast design approaches.

  • Hydrological characteristics would be utilized to apply such as hydrologic modelling or basin management. This study is to extract hydrological characteristics through DEM and stream network analysis using a hydrologic unit map and digital topographic map in Milyang river basin. OEM and stream network was generated from digital topographic map. Especially stream network was allowed direction, stream order, and topology. As a result of the study, it shows that Milyang river has been changing geologically mature stage into old phase and the landform of Milyang river correspond to Horton-Strahler's law on morphology of stream. This methodology can be applicable to other areas related to hydrological characteristics with vector data.

Hydraulic and Morphometric Characteristics of the Channel Bends (유로 만곡부의 수리 및 계량형태학적 특성)

  • A feature typical of natural rivers is the bend. The purpose of this study is to examine hydraulic and morphometric characteristics in channel bend reach by the deterministic approach. Cross section shape factor, "As" is suggested for a new cahracteristic factor of channel bend reach analysis. The variation of this new factor along the river reach showed the location of the concentration of the force due to the current all over the reach, that is curved or not. Some general meander factors are used for correlation with new factor suggested, and the applicability of "As" is verified. The range R/W values are concentrated 2~4, the meanning of this value can be regarded to the warning for bank erosion or breaking. And this paper dealt with prediction of cross section bed shape variation.
