A Scheduler and Scheduling Algorithm for Time Slot Assignment based on Wavelength (파장 단위의 Time Solt 할당을 위한 스케줄러 및 스케줄링 알고리즘)

  • Increase of internet users and new type of applied traffic such as game, news, distributed computing, online image conference, and real time audio and video have leaded to demand for more bandwidth for each application. This algorithm represents a complex optical exchanger having typical wavelength switching function and time-slotted transmission function. Performance assessment of the proposed OXC (Optical Cross connect) sttucture defines LFS (Limit Frame Size) and VFS (Variable Frame Size) for classification by packet type and calculates the channel effect and loss probability depending the demanded bandwidth by access node increase. Optical exchanger in this type of structure can guarantee future network expansion as well as decrease of frame collision resulted from node increase.

  • In this paper, we present the flow aggregation method and the FLTC(flow lasting time control) algorithm to reduce the number of flows and solve the scalability problem in high speed IP switching networks. The flow aggregation based on the destination address could reduce the total number of flows, improve the label efficiency, and increase the total amount of the switched packets. The FLTC algorithm also eliminates the waste of label by deleting the flow binding efficiently. With the traces of real Internet traffics, we evaluate the performance of these schemes by simulation. The label efficiency, the average number of label used, and the percentage of packets switched and the number of packets switched are used as performance measures for this simulation.

  • Recently, Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) technology recently has been used in various industries. Especially, a number of multi-channel assignment schemes have been presented to improve the throughput of IEEE 802.11-based multi-hop WMN. However, performance of the conventional multi-channel assignment schemes is not enough to satisfy the industry requirements. We, thus, should study more about the multi-channel assignment scheme in order to enhance the performance. This paper proposes a novel channel assignment scheme that employs Multi-channel and Multi-Interface in the WMN. The proposed scheme can obtain the traffic information of the network and the efficient channel assignment result without any message exchanges. We verify the efficiency of the proposed scheme through the mathematical modeling and the real-world experiments. The results show that the proposed scheme improves the throughput of the network compared with the conventional schemes.

In this paper, We allocated the dedicated channel of high-speed handoff In FA (Foreign Agent), only if the receive signal strength of mobile host in current cell that there is low traffic in HA (Home Agent). also, we created new Circular queue LiFA (Limited Foreign Agent) for high-speed handoff call that signal strength is weak in certain FA, and had this High-speed handoff call to be ready for Life time to the new Circular queue LiFA. Thus improve the rate of the forced call termination.

  • It is important that using of efficient radio resource because of deficiency spectrum problem, so that related to this problem many researches are have proceeded. To solve this problem, Cognitive Radio(CR) was suggested. The channels are allocated to the secondary users when the primary users don't use the channels, and unfairness of secondary users can be serious problem and channel quality of multichannel can be different due to the different traffic pattern of primary users. In this paper, we propose MAC prtocol both of the user's fairness and channel quality in CR networks. Simulation results show the comparison with CR MAC protocols.

  • 본 논문에서는 웹 서버의 부하가 급증하면서 대두된 네트워크 과부하를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 서버분산처리 방식과 RTO(retransmission time out : 재전송타임아웃)간을 조정하는 기법을 이용하였다. 부하 분산을 위한 방법으로는 기존의 NAT 기반의 가상서버 방식과 비슷하나, 기존의 가상서버에서 서버들을 선택하는 스케줄링 방법을 이용하지 않고 네트워크 주소(IP)룰 통한 서버 분산방법을 선택하였다. 이를 위해 Linux 기반의 PC에 라우터론 구축하였고 여기에 실제 IP를 할당하였으며, 라우터를 경유하여 연결된 두개의 서버에는 가상 IP를 할당 내부접속용과 외부접속용으로 나누어 서버 분산이 이루어지게끔 하였다. 이러한 서버 분산은 학교라는 즉. 웹서버의 접속이 내부접속 비율과 외부접속 비율 어느 한쪽으로도 크게 기울지 않는 네트워크 환경을 고려한 것이다. 네트워크의 성능 평가에 있어 가장 기본이 될 수 있는 응답시간은 전송거리와 트래픽량에 비례한다. 이에 외부접속용 서버와 내부접속용 서버 각각에 RTO 값을 다르게 적용시킴으로써 전체적인 Delay의 변화를 확인해 볼 수 있다. 이는 전송거리가 길 경우 생길 수 있는 패킷 손실을 고려한 것으로 패킷 손실로 인하여 재전송이 이루어질 경우 재전송 time이 RTO를 통하여 이루어지며 이러한 RTO의 적절한 값은 전체적인 응답시간에 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 것에 기인한 것으로 RTO값을 전송거리가 긴 외부접속용 서버에는 전송거리가 짧은 내부접속용 서버에 비해 길게 적응시킴으로써 전체적인 응답시간의 개선을 유도하였다

  • In the microcell or picocell-based system the frequent movements of mobiles bring about excessive traffics Into the networks. A mobile location estimation mechanism can facilitate both efficient resource allocation and better QoS provisioning through handoff optimization. Existing location estimation schemes consider only LOS model and have poor performance in presence of multi-path and shadowing. In this paper we study multi-criteria decision making which can increase estimation accuracy by considering other multiple decision parameters than the received signal strength.

  • 차량 통신 네트워크(VANET, Vehicular Ad Hoc Network)는 운전자 안전 정보 및 ITS(Intelligent Transp ortation System) 서비스를 지원하기 위해 IEEE 1609.4와 IEEE 802.11p를 활용한다. 그러나 차량 노드들의 숫자가 증가할 경우에는 트래픽 경합 문제(Traffic Contention Problem), 숨은 터미널 문제(Hidden Terminal Problem), 전송 지연 문제, 경합으로 인한 패킷 손실 문제, 처리량 감소 문제, MAC의 동적 채널 할당 방법 등 많은 문제점이 발생한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 IEEE 1609.4와 IEEE 802.11p 기반 차량 통신 네트워크의 특징을 살펴봄으로써 기존 제안되었던 차량 통신 네트워크를 위한 MAC 및 멀티채널 기술의 특징의 장단점을 분석한다. 또한 분석된 문제점을 해결하기 위한 연구 방향을 제시한다.

  • Distributed-queue Dual-Bus (DQDB) shows an unfair behavior in bandwidth allocation due to the nature of unidirectional bus architecture. The study on fairness control method for DQDB has been performed under specific load types such as equal Probability load. symmetric load and asymmetric load type. A client-server load type is more practical traffic pattern than specific load type in Web environments. In this paper, we propose an effective fairness control method to distribute DQDB network bandwidth fairly to all stations under Web environments. The proposed method directly calculates an access limit from the bandwidth demand pattern. Based on an access limit, it controls the allocation of bandwidth by yielding empty slots in clients to servers. And we were certain that it outperforms other mechanisms from simulation results.

  • We propose 3-layered hierarchical fiber-optic backbone transmission network composed of B-DCS, Backbone ring, Edge ring for efficient transmission of high capacity traffic and consider design method to ensure network survivability of each layer at affordable cost. Mathematical ring-construction cost minimization using MIP(Mixed Integer Programming) models results in NP-complete problem. So, it is hard to solve it within reasonable computing time. on a large-scale network. Therefore we develop heuristic algorithms solving WSCAP(Working and Spared Channel Assignment Problem) for B-DCS, MRLB(Multi-Ring Load Balancing) problem for Backbone ring, and ORLB(Overlayed Ring Load Balancing) problem for Edge ring and show their usefulness through case study.
