An Exploratory Study on the Success Factors of Project Management After Content Investment (콘텐츠 투자 후 관리 성공요인에 관한 탐색적 연구)

  • This study explores the success factors of post-investment management in content projects, which have recently seen increasing quantitative and qualitative status. The dependence on investment is huge in projects in the domestic content industry. As a result, unlike other industries, the content industry has a large role and contribution of investors in terms of project management. This study is conducted on 15 venture capitalists who have a key function in domestic content investment, and draws on their successful experience, what factors are successful in management(project management). To this end, 10 representative project management areas at the research and practice level are manipulated to suit content projects, and success factors by management area are derived in a qualitative manner for films and games with genre and industrial representation. For each area of management, a total of 38 success factors were derived, ranging from as little as three to as many as five. Given the theoretical and practical implications of research and the limitations of research, we present future research directions.

A Study on the Risk Management of Korean Firms in Chinese Market (중국시장에서 한국기업의 리스크 관리에 관한 연구)

  • As a result of this study only a few Korean firms have a certain management methods designed to predict the possibility of risk occurrence and establishment of systematic countermeasure. Besides, the Korean firms do not have enough data on the risk of Chinese Market. The risk management department inside the firm does not function efficiently, and when it comes to investigation of risk, it heavily depends on that of local branches. Accordingly, in order to accurately recognize and manage, the firms need to not only specialize risk management department but also outsource by using a consulting firm.

A Study on Risk Sharing of PPI Project Demand Risk (민간투자사업 수요위험 분담 방식에 관한 연구)

  • One of key success factors in PPI(Public Private Investment) is the structure of risk sharing between the public and the private, and the determination mechanism of fair return to private participants relative to the risk that private participants undertake. In Korea, two basic types of PPI exist. One is BTO and the other is BTL. In BTO, most risks are taken by the private whereas the opposite is the case in BTL. No intermediate form exists. As a result, BTO type projects had difficulty in attracting private participants because of the excessive risks. In this study, one intermediate form is studied where demand risk is shared between the public and the private. In the setting where the public authority takes all the project revenues and then pays ladder type payments to private participants depending upon the level of project revenues, appropriate level of fixed payments is endogenously derived using the real option pricing model. From the fixed payments, expected investment returns are calculated based upon a certain distributional assumption. The results of this study is expected to help introducing diverse forms of PPI in Korea.

  • Franchising is one of the most effective strategies in promoting business establishment, creating jobs and accelerating economic growth. Thus, many countries in the world foster franchise business and support the franchise industry by enacting relevant regulations and making development policies. Vietnam deregulated franchise market through making franchise-related laws on June, 2005 and after joining WTO in 2009, Vietnamese government opened up the franchise market by letting foreign investors acquire 100% share on their investment in Vietnam. In addition, Vietnamese consumer's rapidly growing income and increasing liking for western life style make Vietnamese franchise market attractive and profitable. For this reason, many global franchise firms are competing to get the best seats. However, there has been no Korean attempt to profoundly study over Vietnamese franchise market. The purpose of this study would focus on analyzing and evaluating cases of Korean and international firms which successfully entered Vietnamese market and on proposing effective strategies and key success factors. The result of this study indicates that the companies successfully settled down to the Vietnamese market have developed marketing strategies which fit their strengths, and their common key success factors are 1) making the best of first mover advantage, 2) adapting themselves to local tastes and behaviors via systematic and scientific market research, 3) making thorough supervision on safety and hygiene, 4) doing strategy of firstly directly being operated and settled down by franchisor, later being managed by franchisees, 5) benchmarking both successful and failed cases in other countries.

  • In the middle of global circumstance, having superior workmanship becomes very important factor to be competitive company. Especially, manufacturing development transferred to industry of knowledge service in these days, having superior workmanship is very important factor to determine company's success or failure. Because of this reason, company invests lots of money in recruiting and manages employees in the aspect of total period, such as workmanship training, management and assessment. This study research about development of 'Recruiting Serious Games' and suggests game that makes company conduct recruiting mission for some period and gives practical interview and chance of work through quantitative and qualitative assessment.
