  • The first purpose of this paper is to disclose the reason why integrated teaching/learning between Information Literacy Subject(ILS) and the other school subjects is necessary in order to enhance students creativity. Postulated creativity is generated from integration of information, the author discusses about the function of human mind and brain by studying Schema theory of Jean Piaget and the human celebral cortex. The author then, discloses the function of human information process(thinking process) is an integrating process of information within the mind and brain. The fact that a thinking process is an integrating process of information implies the necessity of integrated teaching/learning between ILS and the other school subjects. The second purpose of this paper is to find out the urgent points to implement the integrated teaching/learning between ILS and the other subjects at present school situation. The findings from the survey shows that school libraians and teachers are primarily positive about the integrated teaching/learning in connection with enhancing students creativity. However, they are not familiar with about the integrated teaching/learning. Therefore, the writer draws following recommendations. The curriculum for school library media specialist to be at library school should include the rationale, contents, methods and effects of integrated teaching/learning and school library collections are ready to implement the integrated teaching/learning between ILS and the other school subjects.

  • Mathematics has kept the relationships with other studies constantly. However, there is not many researches about the integrated teaching-learning materials for mathematics. In this paper, we review the integrated learning theories and domestic research trends of the integrated learning for the mathematics. Through the literature review, we survey the integrated teaching-learning materials, which integrate the mathematics and other subjects for the secondary school. As a result, it can be seen that integrated teaching-learning materials of mathematics and science, social studies, arts, physical education, and korean literature have recently been developed to help raise awareness of the usefulness of mathematics. Further study on the revision and supplementation of these materials should be carried out based on this paper.

  • In this study, I developed a teaching-learning model using project learning model which makes the most of PIM(Peer & Instructor Mentoring), Presentation contest, and unification of courses on the field ophthalmic optics. There were several conclusion as followings;. The teaching-learning model considering the unification and organic connections among subjects was efficient to the students' academic achievement. Peer & instructor mentoring system was helpful for students to accomplish their own learning projects. Project learning model with collaboration was useful for the development of students' self-controled learning ability and communicative ability. Project learning model gave its driving force to the better motivation and to the goal achievement. Project learning model was instructive for building up the related theories and concepts on the students' major. In conclusion, project learning model mixed subjects with festival, can be a alternative teaching-learning model.

  • This study sought to develop an integrated information literacy curriculum that would have a strong relationship with curricula through the standard themes abstracted from theme network structures, scan and cluster analyses of the information literacy curricula. In addition, this study also attempted to develop a teaching-learning model for the developed integrated information literacy curriculum. This study utilized the themes of information literacy instruction that have interdisciplinary characteristics as analysis criteria in analyzing the commonality of information literacy instruction and the subject curricula. The following characteristics were found from the analyzing the areas of commonality. Foremost, the first themes(the fields of basic learning skills and nature) which belongs to the fields of information society, library, information technology, collaborative skills were found to have many relationships with the subject curricula. Next, the second themes(the field of information problem solving capabilities) which is the core field of information literacy instruction showed a weak relationship with the subject curricula.

  • Educational efforts in integrating various subjects which are closely related to one another have had positive results. Additionally, integrating subjects has shown to be more effective than teaching subjects independently. The purpose of this study is to propose, construct, and develop a theme-based integrated program that teaches elementary school student's subjects which are outside the regular curriculum such as electricity, electronics, programming, and energy by using Diki-3000. Thus, having considered the theoretical background of theme-based integrated program, elementary school subjects including home economics, science, social studies, and extracurricular activities have been analyzed and restructured into theme-based program. Students will learn about and familiarize themselves with these subjects by utilizing the Diki-3000 product. This program aims to improve students understanding of the aforementioned subjects by combining Diki-3000's strengths as an educational tool with the contents of theme-based integrated program. Moreover, the learning experiences gained from completing critical problem-solving activities which are beyond normal subject knowledge is expected to help develop learners' positive thinking skills.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an inclusive dental hygiene practice model in an effort to stir up the self-directed learning of learners to boost their problem-solving skills and ability of providing inclusive personal oral health care in a systematic and efficient manner. The subjects in this study were 41 dental hygiene students who were in their second year in C college located in South Jeolla Province as of 2009. An inclusive dental hygiene practice was implemented during a 15-week period of time from August 31 to December 7, 2009, and a self-administered survey was conducted before and after that by using the same questionnaires. Whether there were any differences between before and after the application of the inclusive dental hygiene practice model was checked, and there was improvement in all the learning motivation, self-directed learning capabilities and satisfaction level. Concerning the relationship of academic standing to changes in learning motivation, self-directed learning capabilities and satisfaction level, the inclusive dental hygiene practice model brought more favorable changes to the students in the lower tiers. The inclusive dental hygiene model should be applied to not only practical courses but theoretical ones so that learners could make progress both in theory and practice, and evaluation tools geared toward assessing their academic achievement and practical abilities should be developed.
