  • In this paper, we propose a new relay selection scheme which can decrease the secrecy outage probability in a relay communication network with multiple relays and an eavesdropper. In the conventional relay selection scheme, a relay transmits jamming signal toward an eavesdropper to decrease the successful decoding probability of the eavesdropper. The coventional scheme has a critical problem that the successful decoding probability of a receiver also decreases. The new relay selection scheme proposed in this paper can significantly enhance the secrecy outage probability by selecting a pair of relays which can increase the successful decoding probability of the receiver while decreasing the successful decoding probability of the eavesdropper. We performed extensive computer simulation based on Monte-Carlo. The simulation results reveal that the proposed relay selection scheme can improve the secrecy outage probability by 10 to 50 times compared to the existing relay selection scheme.

  • In this paper, we analyze the interference probability according to distance between mobile stations as a parameter which is be used for analysis for co-existing in co-channel of different systems. In order to consider interfering between each systems, we analyze two cases. First, WiBro is an interfering transmitter and WLAN is a victim receiver. Second, WLAN is an interfering transmitter and WiBro is a victim receiver. When interfering transmitter is WiBro and WLAN, interference probability according to distance between systems is analyzed by setting transmit power of 25 and 23 dBm, respectively. These simulation results can be applied into criteria data for channel co-existing issue in real field.

  • RS product codes are widely used in digital storage systems. There are lots of decoding strategies for product code for short-length RS codes. Unfortunately many of them cannot be applied to long-length RS product codes because of the complexity of decoder. This paper proposes new decoding strategies which can be used in long length RS product codes.

  • This paper proposes a hybrid pseudo-noise (PN) code acquisition scheme for Multicarrier Direct Sequence - Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) mobile communication systems on the code acquisition performance for Nakagami-m fading channel. The hybrid acquisition scheme combines parallel search with serial search to cover the whole uncertainty region of the input code phase. It has a much simpler acquisition hardware structure than the total parallel acquisition and can achieve the mean acquisition time (MAT) slightly inferior to that of the total parallel acquisition. The closed-form expressions of the detection and false-alarm probabilities are derived.

  • Dual-polarization antenna system has been being researched for wireless communications under short range line-of-sight channel environments. In this paper, probability density function of signal-to-interference-ratio(SIR) for the dual-polarization antenna system is derived, and SIR outage is analyzed. It is shown that the upper bound capacity of a dual-polarization antenna system without polarization alignment is 4.5324 bps/hz.

  • Recently, the mobile social networks, which consider both social relationship between users and mobile communication networks, have been received great attention. In this paper, we consider the trust degree of node as the social relationship for the cooperative communication networks. In contrast to the existing works that consider the case of the perfect trust degree information, for the case that transmitter has an imperfect trust degree information, we propose an imperfect trust degree based cooperative communication technique that maximizes a throughput. We first model the imperfect trust degree information as a probability distribution and derive the outage probability using the probability distribution. Then, we propose the transmission scheme that maximizes the throughput, which consider both outage probability and transmission rate. The simulation results show that the proposed cooperative transmission scheme outperforms the conventional scheme in terms of the throughput.

  • In this paper, we analyze the outage probability of macro diversity combining in cellular networks in consideration of aggregate interference from other mobile stations (MSs). Different from existing works analyzing the outage probability of macro diversity combining, we focus on a diversity gain attained by selecting a base station (BS) subject to relatively low aggregate interference. In our model, MSs are randomly located according to a Poisson point process. The outage probability is analyzed by approximating the multivariate distribution of aggregate interferences on multiple BSs by a multivariate lognormal distribution.
