  • A lot of problems with information education may be obstacles to the sound development of the information society, but they can't stop this social change. As the social environment has changed, our viewpoint and teaching methods have been changed. The techniques of the network are the force of this information society, and personal education is needed for a sound future. We should think about the problems and side effects of these changes and work out the teaching and learning methods which are most suitable for our current society. We need to be quick to discover ways to remove the problems of the information society. In this paper, we develop courseware for network etiquette and apply them to the education curriculum.

  • Because the creative thinking or idea is essential to survive at the age of competition, most of advanced nations focus their education on development of creative thinking. So many researches are being carried out in Korea, but it's not easy to improve students's creativity through teaching computer because many teaching materials and manuals are composed of the software application and simple skill. Therefore this study will present effective Creativity-Improvement Program which can develop students's creativity and be applicable to classwork through concentrating on content system.

An Acoustic Feedback Canceller for Digital Hearing Aids Using Decorrelator (비상관기를 이용한 디지털 보청기용 음향궤환제거기)

  • This paper is on a new adaptive algorithm which can cancel the acoustic feedback signals in the digital hearing aids. The proposed algorithm uses the normalized LMS algorithm with decorrelators. By doing so, it can be reduced the autocorrelation for the voice signals. To analyze the convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm, the simulations were carried out about various input signals. And we had compared the performances of convergence for this algorithm with the ones for the NLMS algorithm. As the results of simulations, it is proved that the feedback canceller adopting this algorithm shows about 5-10 dB more high SNR than the NLMS algorithm for the colored inputs.

  • In this paper, a lego-type Ultra High Definition(UHD) media platform for cloud service have been proposed. The platform offers you a cloud service, which is freely able to share your UHD media in indoor and outdoor environment. Also, if various media products using the next-generation wireless communication(802.11ac and LTE Broadcast etc.) and proposed platform are utilized, everyone can develop easily because it is the lego-type. Therefore, the platform are expected to lead development of new market and invent industry since it can be applied to various businesses models.

  • Recently, as the importance of computational thinking skills has increased, several schools have opened and operated software courses for all students. Software education aims to creatively solve various problems based on coding, but it is difficult to motivate non-major learners who do not have engineering knowledge or are not interested in the IT field. Motivation for learning plays an important role in improving learners' concentration and learning efficiency. In this paper, a method of motivating non-major learners for software subjects was studied and the results were evaluated through a questionnaire.

  • In this paper, we propose a resource allocation scheme based on entropy for tactical wireless networks. In a tactical situation, the sensing nodes that are located randomly provide transmitted data values depending on environmental conditions. Since they share wireless resources, nodes providing valuable data compared to others need to have more resources. The proposed scheme evaluates the value of received data by a sink node. Based on the results, the sink node reallocates resources to sensing nodes. Through various experiments, we verified the proposed scheme is superior to the fixed allocation scheme.

An analysis of the curriculum and textbooks for air and correspondence high school in Korea (방송통신고등학교 영어과 교육과정 및 교과서 분석)

  • Since Air and Correspondence High School (ACHS) in Korea was established in 1974, it has been serving many people who couldn't take the opportunities for learning in the regular high school due to several reasons. Regardless of the rapid change in technologies and educational needs during the past 31 years, however, ACHS hasn't changed much. Concerns have been recently made about the validity of the unchanged school system and many issues have been discussed relating to the innovation of the school system. Focusing on the teaching and learning contents, one of the important issues with respect to the school system, this paper examines the 7th English Curriculum for ACHS. The paper also investigates the textbooks used in ACHS to see how closely they align with the students' English proficiency and ACHS' instructional method by employing McDonough and Shaw's(1993) framework for textbook analysis. The results revealed that the current curriculum does not sufficiently reflect ACHS's characteristics, which leads to the adoption and development of inappropriate textbooks in terms of overall coherence, proficiency level, etc. The results suggest that the development of the curriculum and textbooks for ACHS should be based upon the students' needs and their level of proficiency rather than depending on the national curriculum and government-authorized textbooks intended for the relatively homogeneous school-age learners.

  • 한 개인의 입장에서도 영재성의 발휘는 매우 중요한 일이지만, 민주국가와 인류공영에 크게 이바지하는 입장에서도 영재성의 발휘는 매우 중요한 일이다. 하지만 현재 운영되고 있는 영재교육을 살펴보면 국가에서 영재교육을 해야 한다고 영재교육의 중요성만 이야기했지 실제로 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 교육과정이나 교육내용을 정해주지 않았기 때문에 실제로 영재교육이 이루어지고 있는 것을 보면 그 내용과 방법은 영재교육을 맡은 기관에 따라 매우 다르게 이루어지고 있다. 현재 17개 대학 부설 과학영재교육원에서 영재교육을 담당하고 있다. 하지만 각 대학 부설 과학영재교육원의 교육과정을 보면 대부분 프로그래밍 위주의 교육을 하고 있고, 그 교육과정도 다른 곳에 개방되어 있지 않아서 각 대학 부설 과학영재교육원마다 교육과정 개발에 상당한 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 초등학교에서 고등학교 1학년까지의 10학년에 걸쳐 실시되고 있는 정보통신기술교육내용과 방과 후 특기적성 교육에서 이루어지고 있는 컴퓨터 교육내용, 각 대학 부설 과학영재교육원에서 이루어지고 있는 교육내용을 분석하여 실제로 대학 부설 과학영재교육원에서 활용할 수 있는 초등 정보과학영재를 위한 교육 과정을 개발하였다. 단, 현재 과학영재교육원에서 이루어지고 있는 영재교육이 기초반과 심화반으로 나누어서 운영되고 있는 점을 고려하여, 본 논문에서는 기초반과 심화반 중 기초반에 초점을 두고 연구를 진행하였다.

  • In this paper, I have designed and implemented the total management system to integrate PC and communications device operation of elementary, middle, and high school. The proposed system gives system information management, network information management, and remote management for PC and circuit management and performance analysis function for a router. For PC management, it supports system and network configuration information monitoring and current screen view of PC by remote screen capture. For network management, it provides gathering information of a line interface and analysis function such as utilization by polling. Thru total management system, system manager of teacher can have integrated operations of computerized resources in school by collecting and monitoring information of PCs and network elements.

Effects of School Safety Education on Safety Behavior among Elementary School Students (초등학교 아동의 안전교육이 안전생활 실천에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of school safety education for children to increase their safety behavior. Method: The participants were 262 fourth graders enrolled in S elementary school located in Anyang city. The participants were randomly assigned to three groups. For the first experimental group, school safety education was provided for both children and parents. For the second experimental group, safety education was provided only for the children. For the control group, no treatment was given. Result: The first experimental group showed the highest increment on the classroom safety activities score. The first experimental group also had the highest increment on the outside-the-classroom safety activities score. Further, the first experimental group showed the highest increment on the traffic safety activities score. Conclusion: Safety education in the elementary school is very effective to ensure children are protected from school and traffic accidents. Also safety education can be more effective if safety related parent education programs are provided to parents. Therefore safety education should be provided systematically for both children and their parents to prevent childhood accidents.
