Intrusion Detection Learning Algorithm using Adaptive Anomaly Detector (적응형 변형 인식부를 이용한 침입 탐지 학습알고리즘)

  • Signature based intrusion detection system (IDS), having stored rules for detecting intrusions at the library, judges whether new inputs are intrusion or not by matching them with the new inputs. However their policy has two restrictions generally. First, when they couldn't make rules against new intrusions, false negative (FN) errors may are taken place. Second, when they made a lot of rules for maintaining diversification, the amount of resources grows larger proportional to their amount. In this paper, we propose the learning algorithm which can evolve the competent of anomaly detectors having the ability to detect anomalous attacks by genetic algorithm. The anomaly detectors are the population be composed of by following the negative selection procedure of the biological immune system. To show the effectiveness of proposed system, we apply the learning algorithm to the artificial network environment, which is a computer security system.

Analysis of Effects of Nonideal Channels on the Throughput of CR Systems (인지 무선 시스템에서 전송 오류가 전송 용량에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석)

  • CR systems performs spectrum sensing operation to detect the appearance of primary users. However, since it is not feasible to do spectrum sensing and data transmission simultaneously, they typically operate alternatively in a time domain. There have been an effort(8) to investigate the optimal spectrum sensing duration for maximum throughput for the scheme with cooperative spectrum sensing. This is based on an assumption that the communication channels between each secondary user and the fusion center are ideal and does not consider the effects of transmission error. Motivated by this, we here model the channels as binary symmetric channels and examined its effect on the maximum throughput and the associated optimal sensing duration. Analysis shows that the performance degradation due to the transmission error is smaller for the case of using the AND fusion rule than for the OR fusion rule.

  • The ICC International Court of Arbitration ('the ICC') has published the Note to Parties and Arbitral Tribunals on the Conduct of the Arbitration under the ICC Rules of Arbitration ('2019 Revised Note) which came into force on the 1st of January 2019. The 2019 Revised Note is aimed at providing parties and arbitral tribunals with practical guidance regarding the conduct of arbitrations pursuant to the ICC Arbitration Rules as well as the practices of the ICC. Unless otherwise stipulated, the 2019 Revised Note applies to all ICC arbitration cases, regardless of the version of the ICC Arbitration Rules, in accordance with which they are conducted. The most noteworthy amendment is the introduction of provisions on a new mandatory transparency system by setting forth the publication of the arbitration case data and arbitral awards, maintaining the rule stipulating the provision of information regarding arbitral tribunal under the ICC 2016 Note. Among others, the 2019 Revised Note provides that parties and arbitrators in ICC arbitrations accept that ICC awards made as of the 1st of January 2019 may be published, excluding some exceptions. Under this circumstance, this paper i) explains five amendments of the 2019 ICC Revised Note, ii) examines major issues regarding the publication of information of arbitral tribunal and awards, iii) makes a comparative analysis of that attitude of 11 international arbitration institutions, and lastly iv) suggests recommendations for the Korean arbitration community.

A Study on Guarantor's Wrongful Dishonor and Main Issues under Counter Guarantee (구상보증거래에서 보증은행의 부당한 지급거절과 주요 쟁점에 관한 연구)

  • It is an undeniable fact that the counter-guarantees are always exposed to wrongful or fraudulent demands for payment due to its institutional hallmarks and simplicity. Generally counter-guarantees are payable by presenting a written statement indicating that the local guarantor was in receipt of the beneficiary's statement that the principal was in breach of the underlying contract without any proof of any default. No proof of actual payment of guarantee is required. These matters may lead to numerous disputes or conflicts between the parties concerned. These problems raise may legal issues such as a guarantor(or a counter-guarantor)'s dishonor, the wrongful or fraudulent demands for payment, and the fraudulent conspiracy or the acquiescence of the local guarantor in the course of the procedural demand for payment. On the other hand, the guarantor's dishonor or an injunction are sometimes misused as dispute resolution method between parties involved. Therefore, this research analyzed the guarantor's wrongful dishonor and related issues such as an injunction, fraud exception, and others under the counter-guarantee regime focusing on the relevant cases. This paper also suggested practical implications and countermeasures from a business point of view.

The Study on The Application of QAM-OFDM Scheme for Nonlinear Satellite Channel (비선형 위성 채널에서 QAM-OFDM 방식의 적용에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the performance for the non-linear satellite channel including the characteristics of group delay and gain ripple of transponder is analyzed with multi-level QAM-OFDM schemes. Comparing the BER performances between general OFDM and CI(Carrier Interferometry)-OFDM for various QAM schemes, the degree of performance improvement is presented in AWGN environments for specified nonlinear characteristics. The simulations are performed with the 36MHz bandwidth of transponder channel and 120Mbps transmission rate for QPSK, 8QAM, 16QAM, 32QAM, 64QAM schemes between normal and worst case condition. It is shown that the improvement measure by the CI-OFDM for the group delay of channel and nonlinear characteristic of HPA outperforms that for the gain ripple in the case of higher level QAM scheme in normal condition. And the simulation results show that the additional techniques like the channel coding and compensation scheme against the nonlinear characteristic are required for 32QAM and higher level QAM in worst case condition.

Determinants of Korean FDI in China using the Spatial Effects (공간효과를 이용한 한국의 대 중국 직접투자 결정요인)

  • The purpose of this paper is to find the determinants of Korean FDI(1996~2012) in China using the spatial autoregressive model and four regions of China is analyzed respectively. Most previous studies ignored spatial interdependence to analyze the determinants of Korean outward FDI in China. Empirical results of total Chinese area shows per RGDP and spatial effects are positive and significant variables. Results of region A reveal that per RGDP is positive and spatial effects are negative and significant. Results of region B shows that both per GDP and spatial effects are positive. All variables of region C are insignificant but those of region D are significant and positive. This means that Korean companies to invest in region D should consider spatial characteristics of surrounding areas of D.

The skeletal cortical anchorage using titanium microscrew implants (Titanium microscrew implant를 이용한 skeletal cortical anchorage)

  • Anchorage plays an important role in orthodontic treatment. Endosseous implants may be considered adequate firm anchorage. However, clinicians have hesitated to use endosseous implants as orthodontic anchorage because of limited implantation space, high cost, and long waiting period before osseointegration occurs. Recently, some clinicians have tried to use titanium miniscrews and microscrews in treatment due to their many advantages such as ease of insertion and removal, low cost, immediate loading, and the ability to place microscrews in any area of alveolar bone. The author treated a case with skeletal cortical anchorage using titanium microscrew implants. During six months of orthodontic force application from skeletal cortical anchorage, the author could get 4 mm bodily retraction and intrusion of upper anterior teeth. The most outstanding result was a 1.5 mm posterior refraction of the upper posterior teeth. The titanium microscrew implants had remained firm and stable throughout treatment. These results indicate that skeletal cortical anchorage might be a very good option.

A Study on Effects of Zeroing on the Anti-Dumping Margin of Korean Stainless Steel (미국 제로잉 철폐가 한국 철창제품의 덤핑마진 하락에 미치는 영향)

  • There have been 20 cases of trade disputes related to zeroing in WTO. In these day, it was judged that the use of zeroing in the calculation of dumping margin is against ADA. Recently, WTO decided in favor of Korea in regards to Korea's stainless steel products on January, 2011. There finally was a high possibility of zeroing being changed. In December 2010, the American government announced it would revise zeroing system through an federal register. Many researchers, such as Linsey and Ikenson(2000), William W. Nye(2009) already clarified through empirical analysis that no use of zeroing leads to a large decline in the margin of dumping. If zeroing is abolished in the future, the margin of dumping imposed on Korea's stainless steel will drop sharply. According to this empirical study, the margin of dumping in 6 stainless steel among 12 products commodities subject to Anti Dumping regulation from US reduced below de-minimis or 3%. These stainless steel is likely to be excluded from the Anti Dumping regulation through review investigation and Korea's export of steel to America is expected to be increased steeply in the future.

Dedifferentiated Parosteal Osteosarcoma of the Femur - A Case Report - (대퇴골에 발생한 역분화성 방골성 골육종 - 증례보고 -)

  • We present a case of parosteal osteosarcoma of the femur with secondary dedifferentiation. This 57-year-old woman was radiologically diagnosed as a parosteal osteosarcoma in 1987. In 1992, excisional biopsy revealed a classical parosteal osteosarcoma with diploidy DNA pattern. In 1998, she revisited due to a recurrent tumor with pathologic fracture. The resected specimen showed a classic parosteal osteosarcoma with area of dedifferentiation, showing high-grade spindle cell sarcoma. This dedifferentiated area revealed aneuploidy cell population on DNA flow cytometry. This case reminds us that not all parosteal osteosarcomas are low-grade lesions. Some low-grade lesions may dedifferentiate to become high-grade tumors after inadequate excision.
