Link Travel Time Estimation Using Uncompleted Link-passing GPS Probe Data in Congested Traffic Condition (혼잡상황에서 링크미통과 GPS 프로브데이터를 활용한 링크통행시간 추정기법 개발)

  • Data for travel information Provision are regularly aggregated to Provide travel time information in a reliable and convenient manner and to manage traffic data and information efficiently. In most of practices in Korea, the GPS based travel time data are mainly aggregated every 5 minutes As a result, some probes can't pass by a link within aggregation interval and thereby create uncompleted link passing data. But these data are mostly generated during the congested times and therefore a method that uses such uncompleted link passing data are required. This study estimated queue dissipation length, green time and cycle that use GPS spot speed and developed a link travel time estimation method using such uncompleted link passing data. It also presents method and the overall process of using such data to estimate link travel time in a more accurate manner. As a result, MAPE 1.98% and MAE 4.75 sec of link travel time accuracy improvement has been reported, which is not much different from the real link travel time. The method Proposed here would be an alternative to increase the amount of GPS probe data, especially in congested urban arterial case.

  • 본 논문은 한국도로용량편람의 신호교차로 용량분석에서 차로이용계수를 적용하는 방법을 신호교차로 용량분석의 절차와 이동류 구분 측면에서 살펴보았다. 고찰한 결과 차로이용계수의 개선방향은 다음과 같다. 첫째, v/c 비에 따라 차로이용계수를 적용함으로써, 반복계산이 불필요하게 발생한다. 따라서 편람 개정시 이러한 반복계산을 없애는 값을 산정해야 한다. 둘째, 차로이용계수는 직진 전용차로를 통과하는 직진교통량에 대해서만 적용해야 한다. 실제 현장에서 교통량 조사 상황을 고려해보면, 상당히 불합리한 값을 도출한 것이다. 따라서 차로이용계수를 적용하는 이동류를 정확히 설명하고 그 문제점을 분명히 해야 한다. 셋째, 차로이용계수는 직진 이동류에 대해서만 있다. 우리 나라 전역에 있는 소규모 교차로를 고려해 볼 때, 차로이용계수는 다양한 차로군(lane group)에 대하여 추가적으로 조사연구가 필요하다.

  • 본 연구에서는 통행배정 모형이 갖는 여러 가지 가정 중 대칭적 통행비용 함수를 갖는 가정을 극복할 수 있는 방법에 대해 살펴보았다. 통행배정 문제에 있어서 대칭적 비용함수 가정이라는 것은 링크의 통행비용은 다른 링크의 교통량에 전혀 영향을 받지 않는 않으면서, 동시에 해당 링크를 통과하는 단하나의 수단에 의해서만 결정된다는 의미이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 가정을 극복할 수 있는 비대칭 통행배정모형의 특성을 살펴보고, 그 해석 모형에 대해 고찰하였다. 이 때 대표적 비대칭 통행배정 문제인 다수단 통행배정 모형을 중심으로 문제를 정의하여 검토하였다. 대각화(Diagonalized) 알고리즘과 Column Generation에 기반한 heuristic 모형을 다수단 통행배정 모형에 적용하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 그 과정을 통해 대각화 알고리즘은 초기해의 수단과 수렴기준 수단에 따라 서로다른 해를 갖는 복수의 평형해(Equilibria)특성을 가지고 있었다. 그에 비해 Column Generation에 기반한 heuristic 모형은 Euclidean Norm을 이용한 부분최적화를 통해 복수의 평형해(Equilibria)에 관한 문제점을 개선할 수 있었다.

  • 하천수는 하천의 지표면에 흐르거나 하천 바닥에 스며들어 흐르는 물 또는 하천에 저장되어 있는 물을 말하며, 인구의 증가나 산업화로 인하여 물 사용이 증대되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 따라 국가에서는 하천법 제50조에 의거하여 생활 공업 농업 환경개선 발전 주운 등의 용도로 하천수를 사용하려는 자는 국토교통부장관(홍수통제소장)의 허가를 받아야 한다. 우리나라 수문특성상 우기에 집중되어 있는 물을 갈수기에 이용할 수 있도록 분배하고 관리하는 것이 어려운 실정이다. 하천법 제51조에 의하면 하천유지유량은 생활, 공업, 농업, 환경개선, 발전, 주운 등의 하천수 사용을 고려하여 하천의 정상적인 기능과 상태를 유지하기 위한 최소한의 유량을 말하며, 2006년 고시된 낙동강 수계의 하천유지유량은 대부분 국가하천을 기준지점으로 산정되었고, 산정방법은 평균갈수량 13개, 기준갈수량 2개, 하천생태계 2개 지점이다. 또한, 하천관리유량은 하천유지유량과 이수유량의 합으로 산정된다. 본 연구에서는 2013년도 말 기준으로 하천수 사용허가 현황을 정리하였으며, 용도별, 수계별, 행정구역별, 하천등급별로 하천수 사용허가 건수와 허가량을 분석하였다. 낙동강본류를 대상으로 하천시설물을 고려하여 하천관리유량을 산정하였으며, 하천유지유량의 적절성을 검토함으로써 향후 낙동강권역의 물관리방안을 모색하였다. 낙동강본류구간은 하천관리유량이 기준갈수량에 비하여 큰 형태로써 하천관리유량 확보를 위한 노력이 필요한 것으로 나타났으며, 향후 하천수 사용허가 시설물의 회귀율에 대한 실제적인 자료 수집과 함께 정확한 분석을 통한 하천의 회귀유량을 산정하고, 하폐수 방류시설을 고려하여 산정한 결과와 비교하여 보다 정확한 물수지 분석 체계를 확립하여야 할 것이다.

  • In this parer, we purpose for applying the RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) system in National Road Traffic Volume Survey. Because there is limitation for shipping RFID Tag on every car, we firstly defined Expansion (process of making the number of all cars which passed survey point from sampling data) and determined the best methodology among 3 methodologies (Time factor Model, Fuzzy Model, Artificial Neural Network). As a result of analysis, Time Factor Model was chosen as the best methodology for Expansion. Also, we analyzed to find an application of the RFID system in National Road Traffic Volume Survey and obtained a possibility applying it. It is expected that if the RFID system is used in Traffic Volume Survey, the survey cost is saved than before.

A Study on the Method of Highway Hi-pass Lane Arrangement and Operation (고속도로 영업소 하이패스 차로배치 및 운영에 관한 연구)

  • Currently average daily traffic using Hi-pass has increased over 3 times that of 2008 and more than half of highway traffic now uses High-pass. At this juncture, reassessment on the overall operation of Hi-pass is required to improve the safety aspect of toll booths and the flow of traffic. Although existing Hi-pass operation manual presents the methods of alignment, they do not reflect actual forms of vehicles and do not properly take the safety of toll booth and flow of the traffic into consideration. In order to compensate these problems, this study classifies highway tollbooths into two categories of mainline type and interchange type, and establishes the standard of lane alignment by traffic conflict analysis based on the types divided according to geometric structure or environment around the tollbooths. In addition, traffic flows around the tollbooths were reflected with the stage to arrange Hi-pass lanes according to the volume of traffic on the lanes for Hi-pass.

  • This study presents a useful heuristic algorithm to classify vehicle classes using vehicle length information, which is extracted from inductive loop vehicle signatures. A high-speed scanning equipment was used to extract more detailed change of inductance magnitude for individual vehicles. Vehicle detection time and individual vehicle speeds were used to derive vehicle length information that is an input of the proposed algorithm. The spatial and temporal transferability tests were further conducted to evaluate algorithm. It is expected that the proposed method would be useful for obtaining vehicle classification information from wide-spread existing loop infrastructure.

  • Nowadays the traffic conditions have been getting worse due to continuous increase in the number of vehicles. So it has become more important to manage traffic signal lights efficiently. Recently fuzzy logic is introduced to control the cycle time of traffic lights adaptively. Conventional fuzzy logic controller adjusts the extension time of current green phase by using the fuzzy input variables such as the number of entering vehicles at the green light and the number of waiting vehicle during the red light. However this scheme is inadequate for an intersection with variable traffic densities. In this paper, a new FLC with asymmetric membership functions that reflects more exactly traffic flows than other FLCs with symmetric ones regardless of few control rules is propsed. The effectiveness of the proposed method was shown through simulation of a single intersection. The experimental results yielded the superior performance of the proposed FLC in terms of the average delay time, the number of passed vehicles, and the degree of saturation.

Development of a Freeway Travel Time Estimating and Forecasting Model using Traffic Volume (차량검지기 교통량 데이터를 이용한 고속도로 통행시간 추정 및 예측모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to develop travel time estimation and prediction models on the freeway using measurements from vehicle detectors. In this study, we established a travel time estimation model using traffic volume which is a principle factor of traffic flow changes by reviewing existing travel time estimation techniques. As a result of goodness of fit test. in the normal traffic condition over 70km/h, RMSEP(Root Mean Square Error Proportion) from travel speed is lower than the proposed model, but the proposed model produce more reliable travel times than the other one in the congestion. Therefore in cases of congestion the model uses the method of calculating the delay time from excess link volumes from the in- and outflow and the vehicle speeds from detectors in the traffic situation at a speed of over 70km/h. We also conducted short term prediction of Kalman Filtering to forecast traffic condition and more accurate travel times using statistical model The results of evaluation showed that the lag time occurred between predicted travel time and estimated travel time but the RMSEP values of predicted travel time to observations are as 1ow as that of estimation.
