A study of the policy change of teacher' education in Korea with an analysis of America statistical literacy education (미국의 통계소양교육 분석을 통한 우리나라 교사교육 방향의 탐색)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose the policy change of teachers education in Korea with an analysis of America statistical literacy education. we found the difference of statistical literacy education between Korea and America with each nation's social and educational environment. We can get the need of new change for statistic teacher's education in Korea. We think of Mathematics teachers should know about the difference between statistics and mathematics at school mathematics. And they should know the new change thinking about teaching method and process assesment methods. Second, Teachers should focused on teaching of problem solving and statistical thinking ability based on data analysis than the teaching of probability and mathematical theory.

  • The very first statistics department in Korean universities was founded in 1962, meaning it has been 57 years since Korean academia has regarded statistics as a wholly independent field of study. Dr. Junbo Kim was the first faculty member hired by Korea University's statistics department. He made a seminal contribution to the development and publication of statistics textbooks in those early years, and in 1971, spearheaded the efforts to found the Korean Statistical Society, serving as its first president. Naturally, Dr. Kim's significant contributions have laid the cornerstones for the advancement of statistics as an independent field of study in Korea. In this paper, I will explore two main subjects: one is the early history of the Korean Statistical Society with a special emphasis on Dr. Kim's contributions, and the other is an analytical overview his publications. Specifically, I will focus on Modern Statistics: A Synthesis of Statistics and Estimates』(Kim, 1954), and 『Inferential Statistics: An Introduction to Sample Survey and Experimental Design』(Kim, 1956).

The Effects of a Performance Assessment Based on the Experimental Practice on Student's Science Achievement and Affective Domain in the Middle School Science (실험실습법에 의한 수행평가가 중학생의 과학성취도 및 정의적 영역에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an application of the experimental practice which is one of the performance assessments on student's science achievement and affective domain in the middle school science For this study, two classes were chosen from a co-ed middle school in Gimhae, and assigned to the experimental and the control groups. Prior to the instructions, a science achievement test and a affective domain test were administered. After the instructions, post-tests which were similar to the pretests were also administered. The results showed that the performance assessment based on an experimental practice was more effective of enhancing students' science achievement. However, there was no significant difference in an affective domain test between the two groups. For the control group, there was a significant difference between the pretest and post test in affective domain. It means that there was a negative change in affective domain of the control group.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents on statistics in elementary mathematics textbook according to 2009 school curriculum. And we analyzed the elementary mathematics textbook in the light of data collection, graph understanding level suggested by Cursio. Specially, we analyzed the contents within the framework of evaluation norm suggested in 2015 school curriculum. We expect that this study will be a fundamental reference for the development of textbook according to 2015 school curriculum.

  • Computer intensive bootstrap methods are studied as a tool of statistics. Practical calculation and theoretical justification problem of the methods in estimating the sampling distribution and construction confidence region of parameters are discussed through several examples. Statistical meaning of the methods are also considered.

교원양성기관의 통계분야 교육과정에 대한 기본 자료

  • 이 연구는 사범대학 수학교육과의 교육과정 중 통계분야에 대한 사항을 논의하는 기본 자료로서 통계학 전공 교수 현황과 교육과정을 살펴보았다. 현재 수학교육과 소속의 전임교수 164명중에서 통계학 전공교수는 7명으로서 전체의 4.3%를 차지하고 있다. 또, 확률 및 통계영역에 대한 교육과정의 편성은 6.1%를 차지하고 있다. 따라서, 통계학에 대한 교수 및 교육과정 편성이 적어도 10%는 되도록 노력하여야 한다.

An Edge Preserving Color Image Segmentation Using Mean Shift Algorithm and Region Merging Method (Mean Shift 알고리즘과 영역 병합 방법을 이용한 경계선 보존 컬러 영상 분할)

  • Mean shift procedure is applied for the data points in the joint spatial-range domain and achieves a high quality. However, a color image is segmented differently according to the inputted spatial parameter or range parameter and the demerit is that the image is broken into many small regions in case of the small parameter. In this paper, to improve this demerit, we propose the method that groups similar regions using region merging method for over-segmented images. The proposed method converts a over-segmented image in RGB color space into in HSI color space and merges similar regions by hue information. Here, to preserve edge information, the region merge constraints are used to decide whether regions are merged or not. After then, we merge the regions in RGB color space for non-processed regions in HSI color space. Experimental results show the superiority in region's segmentation results.

A Domain Action Classification Model Using Conditional Random Fields (Conditional Random Fields를 이용한 영역 행위 분류 모델)

  • In a goal-oriented dialogue, speakers' intentions can be represented by domain actions that consist of pairs of a speech act and a concept sequence. Therefore, if we plan to implement an intelligent dialogue system, it is very important to correctly infer the domain actions from surface utterances. In this paper, we propose a statistical model to determine speech acts and concept sequences using conditional random fields at the same time. To avoid biased learning problems, the proposed model uses low-level linguistic features such as lexicals and parts-of-speech. Then, it filters out uninformative features using the chi-square statistic. In the experiments in a schedule arrangement domain, the proposed system showed good performances (the precision of 93.0% on speech act classification and the precision of 90.2% on concept sequence classification).

  • 대화 인터페이스 시스템(dialogue interface system)은 인간과 컴퓨터의 상호작용을 위한 도구로서 자연언어(natural language)를 사용하여 정보를 공유하거나 특정 업무를 수행하는 프로그램이다. 대화 인터페이스 시스템에 대한 기존의 연구들은 영역 의존적인 스크립트나 계획 추론을 위한 계획 지식을 이용해 왔다. 스크립트 모델(script model)은 제한적인 실용시스템 개발을 위해 주로 연구되었고 계획에 기반한 모델은 대화의 원리를 이해하는 분야에서 주로 연구되어 왔다. 그러나 기존의 모델들은 시스템 확장이 매우 어려우며 예측하지 못한 사용자 발화에 대하여 대응이 어렵기 때문에 매우 제한적인 영역이나 정해진 형태의 대화만을 처리할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 단점들을 보완하기 위하여 통계에 기반한 다 영역(multi-domain) 대화 모델을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 각 작업들에 대하여 해당 작업에 적합한 영역 모델(domain model)을 잘 알려진 프레임 구조를 따르면서 사용자 의도 파악과 시스템 의도 생성에 통계적 방법을 사용한다. 이러한 하이브리드 형태의 구조 덕분에 제안된 시스템은 영역 확장성과 이식성이 뛰어나다는 장점을 가진다.

청소년기업가정신교육은 청소년기업가정신지수를 향상시킬까?: JA Korea-삼성 청소년기업가정신교육을 중심으로

  • 본 연구의 목적은 청소년기업가지수를 활용하여 청소년기업가정신교육이 청소년에게 어떠한 영역에서 효과가 있는지 JA Korea-삼성 청소년기업가정신교육을 중심으로 검증해 보는 데 있다. JA Korea-삼성 청소년기업가정신교육 프로그램에 참여한 고등학생 124명을 대상으로 청소년기업가정신지수의 3개 영역(인지, 사회, 정의), 9개 하위요소(혁신성, 적극적 문제해결, 대인관계, 리더십, 공감, 위험감수성, 진취성, 자기효능감, 모호함에 대한 인내)를 교육 사전-사후로 나누어 대응분석을 실시하였다. 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, JA Korea-삼성 청소년기업가정신교육에 참가한 고등학생의 청소년기업가정신지수를 사전-사후 대응분석을 실시한 결과 통계적으로 유의미하게 상승하였다. 둘째, 청소년기업가정신지수를 구성하는 인지, 사회, 정의영역 중인지영역과 정의영역에서 유의미하게 상승하였다. 마지막으로 9개 하위요소에 대해 분석한 결과 대인관계 및 위험감수성 요소를 제외하고 7개 하위요소에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 높아졌다. 본 연구는 청소년기업가정신지수를 활용하여 교육의 효과성을 검증하고 청소년기업가정신교육의 바람직한 방향성을 수립하는데 필요한 객관적인 자료로 활용 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
