Plant Regeneration from Internode Explants of Actinidia arguta and its Histological Observation (다래(Actinidia arguta)의 절간절편체로부터 식물체 재분화 및 해부학적 관찰)

  • Effects of plant growth regulators and condition on shoot induction from internode explants of Actinidia arguta were investigated. Optimal condition for shoot induction was obtained when internode explants were cultured on MS medium containing 3.0 mg/L zeatin. The frequency showed about 62.5% under darks condition at 27$^{\circ}C$ after 6 weeks of culture. Regenerated shoots were rooted on WPM medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/L NAA and the regenerants were acclimated to an artificial soil with mixture (perlite : vermiculite = 1:1, v/v) for further growth and successfully transplanted to the soil in a highly humidified greenhouse. Histological observations revealed that meristemoids were formed from small and isodiametric cells, and then developed to shoot primordia.

Optimization of Cultivation Conditions on Effective Seedlings of Veronica rotunda var. subintegra (Nakai) T.Yamaz. (산꼬리풀의 효과적인 육묘를 위한 재배조건 최적화)

  • This study was conducted to identify the optimal conditions for seedling growth in Veronica rotunda var. subintegra (Nakai) T.Yamaz. which a endemic plant and can be development as ornamental plants. We sowed V. rotunda var. subintegra (Nakai) T.Yamaz. seeds, and exposed the seedling was different treatment conditions. We varied soil type and fertilizer concentration, shading ratio, additional fertilizer concentration, pretreatment light exposure and collection time of seeds. We found that seedling growth was good in horticultural substrate (with no additional fertilizer), but mixed soils supplemented with fertilizer inhibited growth, regardless of the fertilizer concentration. In the 55% shading treatment, seedling growth was greater than in the non-shading treatment. High concentration addition of fertilizer (Hyponex) promoted plant growth, in terms of both plant length and fresh weight. Exposure of seeds to a red light-source prior to germination had a greater effect on seedling growth than exposure to other light sources. Seedlings exhibited better growth when grown from seed collected in 2018, rather than 2017.

Landmine Detection System using a Target-adaptive Window Selection Method (표적 적응형 윈도우 기법을 적용한 지뢰 탐지 시스템)

  • The performance of a landmine detection system depends on consistent extractions of the features of landmines. Since landmines have diverse sizes, it is critical to select an appropriate window size to represent the landmine region consistently. Conventional detection systems are incapable of extracting consistent landmine features because they employ fixed window sizes. This paper proposes a window size selection method according to the size of a landmine. The proposed method selects an appropriate window size based on the type of a landmine estimated from the response signal of the system. Data on various types of soils and landmines were generated from a simulation program to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The results verified that the proposed method, which employs an adaptive window size, yields a better landmine detection rate than the conventional methods, which employ fixed window sizes.

  • 비점오염원에 의한 수질오염은 지표수 오염과 지하수 오염으로 분리될 수 있는데 보통 지하수는 지표수에 비하여 수질이 양호 하다고 여겨지만 오염된 하천 주위의 지하수 오염이 심각할 수 있다. 이러한 지하수에 의한 오염원을 산정하고 분석하기 위해 여러 가지 수문관련 공식이나, HSPF, MODFLOW, SWAT 모형 등이 사용되고 있는데 이 중, SWAT 모형은 다양한 작물 및 재배방법이 지표수 및 지하수 수질에 미치는 영향을 유역단위로 평가가 가능하여 국내 외 에서 널리 활용되고 있다. SWAT 모형은 소유역별 수문학적 반응단위인 HRU를 이용하여 유역 내 수문 및 수질을 평가하는데 소유역내 HRU의 공간적인 정보를 고려하지 않는 준 분포형 모형으로 다양한 영농방법이 지표수 및 지하수에 미치는 영향을 공간적으로 분석 하는데는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 SWAT 모형의 단점을 개선하여 공간적으로 분석할 수 있는 SWAT HRU Mapping module을 개발하였고 강원도 평창군 대관령면 횡계2리 지역에 적용하여 지하수 함양량 및 대수층 유입 $NO_3$-N 부하량 및 농도를 분석하였다. 적용결과, 횡계2리 유역의 2006년 대수층 유입 $NO_3$-N 부하량 및 농도를 비교하면 일반적으로 농경지에서의 대수층 유입 $NO_3$-N 부하량이 큰 것으로 나타났고, 대부분 농경지에서 대수층으로 유입되는 $NO_3$-N의 농도가 산림에 비해서 상당히 높은 것으로 분석되었으며 2007년의 결과도 비슷한 경향이 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과에서와 같이 같은 밭이라 하더라도 재배되는 작물의 종류 및 시비량 등에 따라 대수층으로 유입되는 오염부하에는 상당한 영향이 있을 수 있으며, 또한 재배 작물과 토양 특성에 따라 $NO_3$-N이 대수층으로 유입될 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발된 HRU Mapping Module은 유역에서의 수질 개선시기저유출을 통한 오염원의 시공간적 분석을 하는데 매우 유용하게 활용될 수 있으리라 판단된다.

Callus Induction and Somatic Embryogenesis in Suspension Culture of Rehmannia glutinosa (지황의 캘러스 유도와 현탁배양에서 체세포배 발생)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the appropriate medium and constitutionof growth regulators for somatic embryogenesis for development of rapid mass propagation system via somatic embrygenesis in Rehmennia glutinosa. Embryogenic callus formation from leaf explant was more effective when 4mg / l BA with 0.5mg / l NAA than that of treated with only auxins or cytokinins. LS medium was suitable for embryogenic callus formation. LS medium with 4mg / l BA with 0.5mg / l NAA was effective for the maintenance and proliferation of embryogenic callus. In suspension culture, addition of 1mg / l BA to LS medium was proper for somatic embryogenesis. The highest rate of shoot developement form cotyledon stage embryo was obtained in 1/2 LS medium and plantlet survived by 75% after transplanted to the soil. after 4 weeks.

  • WHO reported that millions of people die every year because of diseases induced from environmental pollution. In 2012, approximately 7 million people were killed due to air pollution. Major cause of such pollution includes toxin, chemical waste, radiation and air pollution. Therefore, the significance and interest to indoor air quality has been continuously increased. Especially, the interest in radon, the ARC group 1 carcinogen, is rapidly increasing, and banning the use of construction materials that release radon, repairing aged buildings, and developing ventilators. To reduce the level of radon gas was inflowed to indoors and outdoors, this study is to research and develop a radon gas absorption board using absorbents. The absorbents utilized to absorb the radon gas were porous diatomite, natural zeolite, 4A zeolite and 13X zeolite and employed bentonite and illite, montmorillonites with the property of exchanging anions. As the main binder, magnesium oxide was used, with a content of 25% magnesium chloride.

  • Forests store carbon dioxide ($CO_2$), one of the major factors of global warming, in vegetation and soils through photosynthesis process. In addition, woods deposit $CO_2$ for a long term until the harvested wood is decomposed or burned, and deforested areas could be expanded the carbon sinks through reforestation. Forests are a lso able to decrease temperature through transpiration and contribute to control the micro climate in global climate systems. Consequently, forests are considered as one of major sinks of greenhouse gases for mitigating global warming. It is very important to develop a Korea specific forest carbon flux model for preparing adaptation measures to climate change. In this study, we compared the climate change impact models in forests developed in foreign countries and analyzed the applicability of the models to Korean forest. Also we selected models applicable to Korean forest and suggested approaches for developing Korean specific model.

Theoretical analysis for determation of allowable free span of subsea pipeline (해저 배관의 허용 노출길이 산정에 대한 이론해석)

  • The free span of a subsea pipeline due to seabed scouring can result in structural failure by severe ocean environmental loads and vortex induced vibrations. This Paper examines the safety of subsea pipelines with free spans under axial compressive load. The variation of allowable lengths of static and dynamic free spans is examined for generalized boundary conditions. The free span is modelled as a beam with an elastic foundations and the boundary condition is replaced by linear and rotational springs at each end. The static and dynamic free span curves are obtained with a function of non-dimensional parameters. A case study is carried out to introduce the application method of the curve. The results of this study can be usefully applied for the design of subsea pipelines with a free span.

Effect of Soil Texture and NPK Fertilizers Application Level on Growth and Yield of Ostericum koreanum (토성과 시비량에 따른 강활(羌活)의 생육과 수량변화)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of the various soil textures and NPK fertilizer application rates on growth and yield of Ostericum koreanum by pot experiment. Mean temperatures during cropping seasons of May, June, August and October were higher than those of normal year, but also the values were equal or lower for the other period. The growth and yield of Ostericum koreanum in the 1.5 fertilization rates became higher as the fertilizer rates increased by different soil textures. The content of soil organic matter and available phosphorus were high by application of high fertilization levels, while another contents did not show any significant differece. The yield of Ostericum koreanum was high in the loam soil by 278kg/10a. Those for clay soil was lower. Therefore, these results suggested that optimum soil texture for cultivation of this plant could be loam soil.

기후변화에 따른 논벼 물발자국의 불확실성 및 민감도 분석

  • 전 세계적으로 식량과 물 안보에 대한 중요도가 높아지고 있으며 이에 따라 물발자국은 식량과 물을 연계하는 요소로서 거론되고 있다. 물발자국은 제품이 생산되는 과정동안에 사용되는 물의 양을 의미하며 $m^3/ton$으로 표현한다. 이러한 물발자국은 작물 필요수량 및 생산량을 기반으로 산정되기 때문에 기후변화와 밀접한 관계가 있다. 따라서 농업 및 수자원 계획 분야에서 물발자국의 활용성을 높이기 위해서는 기후변화에 따른 우리나라 농산물의 물발자국 변화를 살펴보는 것이 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 기후변화에 따른 논벼의 농업용수량 및 생산량 산정을 통하여 미래의 녹색 및 청색 물발자국을 산정하고, 시기 및 시나리오별 불확실성 및 민감도를 평가하고자 하였다. 기후변화 시나리오는 RCP 기반의 신 기후변화 시나리오를 이용하였으며, 물발자국 산정 작물은 우리나라의 주곡인 논벼를 대상으로 하였다. 물발자국은 작물의 단위생산량당 소비되는 물의 양으로 정의되며, 최근 연구에서 물발자국은 용수 공급원에 따라 녹색(green), 청색(blue), 회색(grey) 물발자국으로 구분하여 산정되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 작물의 증발산으로 소비되는 수량만을 물발자국 산정에 적용하여 증발산량 중 강우에 의해 공급되는 수량인 녹색 물발자국과 관개에 의해 인위적으로 공급되는 수량인 청색물발자국을 산정하였다. 기후변화에 따른 미래의 작물의 생산량을 산정하기 위해 작물모델로 기상, 재배관리, 작물의 유전정보, 토양수분 및 질소의 효과까지 고려하여 작물의 생육뿐만 아니라 생산량까지도 모의할 수 있는 CERES-Rice모델을 적용하였다. 미래 기후 전망을 위한 전지구모형은 종류가 다양하고 모형의 특성과 모형 입력 자료에 따라 모의 결과가 상이하게 나타남에 따라 불확실성을 내포하고 있다. 따라서 기후변화에 능동적으로 대처할 수 있는 논벼의 물발자국을 산정하기 위하여 각 시나리오 및 시기별 물발자국의 불확실성 및 민감도를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 기후변화에 따른 미래 농업수자원의 변화를 분석하는데 이용될 수 있을 뿐 만아니라 우리나라 미래 국가수자원 정책의 수립을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.
