  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에서의 플랫폼 기술은 상황인지(context-awareness) 기술과 재구성형 네트워킹(reconfiguration networking) 기술이 융합되어 가면서 병행하여 발전되고 있으며 최근에는 이종간의 다른 리소스를 가지고 있는 모바일 플랫폼간의 자율적인 공유를 통한 보다 큰 개념의 유비쿼토스 서비스가 제공 되고 있다. 본 논문은 사용자의 선호도를 고려한 서비스 기술과 서비스 추론 기술을 제안한다. 특히 본 논문에서는 데이터마이닝 기법을 이용하여 사용자 선호도에 기반한 서비스를 제공한다. 본 논문은 상황인지 시스템에서 온톨로지를 활용한 고도화된 서비스 추론 엔진과 함께 데이터마이닝기법을 이용하여 사용자의 과거 이력 분석을 통해 최적의 서비스등 다른 분야의 방법들을 함께 결합시킴으로서 상황 인지 시스템에서의 새로운 사용자 선호도 기반 서비스 패러다임을 제공하는 것을 목적으로한다.

Somatostatin Receptor Scintigraphy (소마토스타틴 수용체 영상)

  • Peptide imaging is a new diagnostic modality in nuclear medicine. $^{111}In$-pentetreotide ($Octreoscan^R$) is the first commercially available peptide radiopharmaceutical. This review article presents the results of previous studies using $^{111}In$-pentetreotide for several disease states, including neuroendocrine tumors, breast cancer and malignant lymphoma. The use of hand-held probe during surgery and the preliminary results of radiotherapy using radiolabeled somatostatin analogues are also reviewed. It can be concluded that somatostatin receptor scintigraphy is a promising diagnostic tool for localizing primary tumors that express receptors for somatostatin, staging secondary spread of tumor tissue, following up after therapy and identifying patients who may benefit from therapy with unlabelled or radiolabeled octreotide. The somatostatin receptor imaging will stimulate the development of new radiopharmaceuticals for other receptors and enhance the therapeutic use of radiolabeled peptides.

  • The specific goal of this research is to develop a non-contact measurement technique of stress waves propagating in a rotating shaft. This technique will enable on-line damage detection in shafts in power-generating systems. To minimize measurement errors due to shaft rotation, we have employed magnetostrictive sensors. The sensors are not only cost-effective but also insensitive to liftoff or fill factors. Several experimental results showed the effectiveness of the present technique. The damage location in a rotating shaft was accurately predicted by the wave signal measured by the present approach.

  • Benzopyrene is known to be one of the most powerful carcinogens which can build intercalated motif between base pairs in damaged DNA. The dimension of benzopyrene itself is much bigger than any of the DNA bases and thus the question whether the lesion of some base pair by insertion of benzopyrene can happen with or without a dramatic distortion of the helical structure is a highly interesting theme. In this work we used a molecular mechanics simulation using AMBER program package to go into the conformational characteristics. The condition of the insertion process of the benzopyrene motif from minor groove of the starting structure between the base pairs in the internal area of double helix was investigated using the molecular dynamics simulation at elevated temperature.

The specific consequences about the structural properties of the intercalated structures and benzopyrene motif in minor groove of the double helix are deduced after 5 ns simulation time.

  • In 1990, a retrospective examination of histologic data determined that 23 histology accessions at the Miwon Institute of Animal Science had a diagnosis of crytosporidiosis. These cases presented 10% of the 230 histologic examinations of broiler chicks of 23 cases, 18 cases were respiratory infection and 5 cases were bursal infection. The histologic findings of respiratory cryptosporidiosis were hyperplasia of mucosa epithelial cell, slightly swelling of epithelial cells, deciliation of tracheal epithelium, distribution of cryptosporidium organisms in epithelial surface of trachea and infiltration of plasma cells and lymphocytes in mucosa propria layer in trachea.

  • 유비퀴토스 컴퓨팅이랑 컴퓨터를 통한 인류의 삶에 획기적인 변화를 의미한다. 이러한 변화는 데스크탑 컴퓨터를 손바닥 싸이즈의 디바이스로의 변화시켰으며 언제 어디에서나 사용자가 이러한 디바이스를 이용해서 멀티미디어 데이터를 서비스 받을 수 있게 하였다. 이를 위해 많은 연구들이 휴대폰이나 PDA 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위해 행해지고 있으나 아직까지는 많은 제약사항, 리소스, 플랫폼의 다양성 등의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 고로 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 플랫폼 독립적인 특성을 가지는 자바를 기반으로 한 지니를 이용해서 해결하였다. 기존의 지니는 좋은 개념을 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 임베디드 시스템에 이용되기에는 크기, 성능면에서 많은 문제점을 가지고 51다. 이를 해결하기 위해서 기존의 Lookup 서비스에 XML 기능을 기원하여 간단하고 확장성이 보장되고 가볍게 재설계 하였다. 이를 통해 임베디드 시스템에 적합한 구조를 가짐을 실험을 통해 입증하였다.

A Study on the Archival Basis of History by Simaqian and Herodotus (『사기』와 『역사』에 담긴 기록학의 기초 역사-인간[Homo Historicus], 사마천과 헤로도토스)

  • I examined the archival basis of two historians who wrote history books with the same title of 'History'; Simaqian of ancient China and Herodotus of Halikarnassos. I examined a prejudice to these two history books, a misunderstanding of them as an imagination rather than a history. How can an imagination become a history? First, I explained the common characteristics found in their compilation and writing of 'History.' Simaqian and Herodotus did their field-works in historical sites, gathered oral-histories, and arranged archives they collected. These two historians heavily engaged in archival works in terms of verifying authenticity and reliability of their sources on the basis of historical empiricism. There are some misunderstanding on their archival endeavor and on the very nature of archives and historical studies as empirical studies. Furthermore, this misunderstanding regarding them as literature came from a confusion over the concept of literature. The creativity of literature is not equal to the "fictitiousness" of history despite historical works sometimes may give us an impression by the way of describing and providing insight into a certain event(s) and a person(s). As Herodotus said, a recognition of the differences of each race and human is a departure of historical archiving of the valuable experiences of human-beings. By doing so, natural results of archival behaviors, preservation of the records, and consistent inquiry of historian-archivists become a humanistic passage overcoming the current wrong trends of historical studies confined to a narrow nation-history.

Growth and Development of Watermelon Plants Grafted onto $Citrullus$ Rootstocks with Resistance to Fusarium Wilt at Two Temperature Regimes (덩굴쪼김병 저항성 대목용 수박 유전자원을 이용한 접목수박묘의 적온 및 저온하에서의 생장반응)

  • Growth response of 'Sambokkul' watermelon grafted onto different rootstocks including 4 $Citrullus$ rootstocks and 3 other cucurbitaceous rootstocks was evaluated at two different temperature regimes. Significant reduction in plant growth rate was observed in plants grown at low temperatures (LT) as compared to those grown at normal or optimal temperatures. Relative growth reduction were 40~47% for vine length, 39~51% for total leaf area, 38~59% for shoot fresh weight, and 57~87% for plant dry weight, respectively. Watermelon rootstock PI 482322 showed comparable plant growth as the most popular rootstock 'Shintozwa' even at LT. 'Sambokkul' watermelon grafted onto watermelon hybrids, 'PI 271969 ${\times}$ PI 296341' and 'PI 271769 ${\times}$ Calhoun Gray', showed comparable plant growth as 'FR Dantos' bottle gourd rootstock. Index of growth ability at LT, which was calculated on the basis of reduced rate of vine length, dry weight and leaf area, was significantly high in $C.$ $martinezii$, 'Shintozwa', PI 482322, and 'PI 271769 ${\times}$ PI 296341' rootstocks (50% or higher) and low in own-rooted 'Sambokkul' or in watermelon plants on 'Knight' rootstock. Watermelon hybrids, 'PI 271969 ${\times}$ PI 296341' and 'PI 271769 ${\times}$ Calhoun Gray', showed better or at least comparable growth at low temperatures as compared to 'FR Dantos', confirming the feasibility of using watermelon rootstocks even in low temperature conditions.
