Wi-Fi Directional Test Simplification for Smart Set-Top Box Based on Pair-Wise Testing (Pair-wise 기법을 활용한 스마트 셋톱박스 Wi-Fi 방향성 테스트의 간소화 방법)

  • The most used smart set-top box in home driven by the Android OS and based on Wi-Fi technology has to ensure nothing wrong with the Wi-Fi service regardless of the various user's installation environment. The direction test method about the nondirectional of the Wi-Fi doesn't be determined as the standard and each manufacturers devise the their own test methods and conduct the tests. In this paper, we created the 720 test cases considering 2 components of upload & download, the 10 elements of the vertical angle and the 36 elements of the horizontal angle looking at the wireless router in order to verify omni-directional Wi-Fi capability. In reality, from viewpoint in terms of cost and time constraint, it is difficult to test all the test cases. Therefore, we decided to reduce test cases by applying Pair-wise testing technique which is one of combinational testing techniques based on ISO / IEC 29119-4. And we obtained the test cases in which the Pair-wise technique was applied by Allpairs tool which output test cases automatically and conducted the test. It could be confirmed that the proposed technique shortened 48.61% of the time to be spent in progressing the existing test cases and that the trace about the part in which the problem was generated with the result of the simplified test case was possible enough.

  • The animatronics technique could be very important fact of technique not only to achieve full completion of visible image but also to offer lots of chances to express images by merging CG, special effects and special devices. In this thesis, we design and implement the Zigbee-based wireless transceiver and communication program to control animal animatronics such as a dog and bear. The wireless control utilizing the Zigbee protocol is that electrically consumption is more small than the Bluetooth and reliability of data transmission is better. The implemented control systems and program have the normal and replay function for control of animal models. This functions and operability are tested by a designed animatronics prototype under the wireless environment.

  • The V2X cooperative communication system is fusion technology which makes vehicle manuver safer. To evaluate and anticipate effect of these kind of technology, it requires real-car based road construction, implementation of communication devices, hiring inspection specialized personnel. For this reason, many laboratories and universities experience difficulties to test their technology results. Also, the need of implementing reliable testbed for testing vehicle safety applications and V2X communication technology is increasing as V2X device development is being accelerated. In this paper, we implemented a system which synchronizes traffic and network simulators via developing External interface to set simulation based testing environment in order to solve the difficulties.

  • Smart TV manufacturers have constructed automatic Smart TV execution environment for reducing cost of Smart TV testing. However, the conventional test methods still require high cost because of manual test script written by testers. Test scripts manully written have less reusability, and then less reusable scripts cannot be used for new TV models. In this paper, we propose constructing reusable test models for Smart TV and present a model-based Smart TV test script generation method using the modes. And we apply the method to NetCast Smart TV to confirm the effectiveness of enhancing reusability.

  • 핸드폰에 의한 모바일 콘텐츠의 사용량이 날로 증가하고 있으며 이러한 추세에 맞추어 다양한 콘텐츠들이 다양한 플렛폼에서 생산되고 있다. 모바일 플랫폼에서 사용 가능한 콘텐츠 생산성은 플랫폼의 특수성으로 인해 생산 속도가 느리고 인력 투입이 많은 것이 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 또한 무선 플랫폼에서 사용 가능한 콘텐츠 제작시 다양한 하드웨어 플랫폼으로 인한 액정 크기의 다양성과 사용 가능한 콘텐츠 개발 언어의 다양성으로 인한 문제점도 많은 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 생산성 저하의 원인으로 대표되는 문제점들과 다양한 하드웨어 플랫폼으로 인해 발생하는 문제점들을 해결하기 위한 모바일 콘텐츠를 통합 제작하고 테스트하는 PC용 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. xHTML 언어로 제작된 모바일 콘텐츠를 다양한 언어로 변환하기 위하여 패턴매칭 알고리즘을 사용한 변환 모듈을 개발하였다. 또한, 변환된 콘텐츠들을 각 플랫폼별로 테스팅 하기 위하여 개발자의 직접적 개입이 없이 모든 콘텐츠를 자동으로 검사하고 결과를 리포트 생성하는 자동 테스트 부분과 개발자의 육안으로 확인하고 테스트하여 결과 리포트를 생성하는 수동 테스트 부분으로 나누어진 소프트웨어 엔진을 개발하였다. 이상의 변환엔진을 사용하여 xHTML로 제작한 원본 콘텐츠는 다양한 플랫폼에서 이용 가능한 콘텐츠로 생산이 용이해 졌으며, 두 테스트 엔진을 사용하여 기본적인 콘텐츠 오류들을 쉽게 찾아내고 수정할 수 있는 개발 환경을 구축하였다.

  • Recent evolution of communication networks has led toward increasingly a complex, large-scale protocol. Protocol conformance tests therefore, which consider only control flow, have many problems on testing data flow, transition condition, delay and so on. We propose, design, and implement the tool to solve these problems. The tool, which solves nondeterminism, generates test suites from an integrated flow graph and excludes infeasible path with reachable tree. The presented tool reduces the length of UIO sequence and is efficient partially to test the path that error rate is high. Our automatic test suite generator provides basis of protocol testing environment and high production.

  • Simulation is the work that identifies the characteristics of some problem through the simulated experiments. During the experiments it is frequently required to change or replace the simulation models, algorithms, or input/output data. Especially, in the case of the simulation works performed by replacing algorithms, if a replaceable component that implements a specific algorithm is not correct with respect to its functionality it is very difficult to carry out the simulation works successfully. In this paper, we suggest a test framework that verifies functional correctness of the replaceable component in the software-based GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) simulation environments. When a component is replaced, this framework enables us to properly execute the functional test for the component according to its context.

  • NVRAM(Non-volatile RAM)이란 전원을 공급하지 않아도 데이터를 유지할 수 있는 RAM 이다. 비휘발성 메모리이기 때문에 Flash 와 동일한 기능을 제공할 수 있다. 또한 Flash 에 비해 저전력으로 동작하고, 읽고 쓰는 동작도 더 빠르며 내구성까지 뛰어나다. 즉, NVRAM 은 리소스가 제한적인 사물인터넷(IoT) 장치에서 Flash 를 대신하여 전력소모 및 지연시간 측면에서 효과적으로 사용될 수 있는 메모리이다. IoT 장치는 일반적으로 배터리와 같은 독립전원 장치로 작동하거나, 최근에는 에너지 하베스터를 활용한 간헐적 컴퓨팅 방식도 활용되고 있다. 간헐적 컴퓨팅 방식에서는 전원이 꺼졌을 때도 프로그램의 상태를 유지하기 위해 비휘발성 메모리에 백업동작이 필수적이다. 그러므로 백업을 위한 메모리를 Flash 가 아닌 NVRAM 으로 대체하게 되면 효율적이고, 상대적으로 백업 및 복구에 의한 비휘발성 메모리에 접근이 많은 간헐적 컴퓨팅에서는 더 큰 효율을 볼 수 있다. 하지만 현재 NVRAM 이 내장된 개발보드가 제한적이고, NVRAM 을 외부 모듈로서 사용하기 위해 SPI 또는 I2C 통신을 사용해야 한다. 그 외에도 동시에 공유 메모리에 접근하는 등의 문제를 막아야 한다. 이러한 문제를 막고, NVRAM 을 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 추상화 계층을 만들어 NVRAM 테스팅 환경을 제공하여 해당 분야의 연구개발을 가속화할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 본 논문에서는 NVRAM 의 한 종류인 FRAM 을 사용하여 추상화 계층을 구현하였다.

  • Recently, as the weight of software in the weapon system increases, the quality of the software becomes a very important factor. In order to improve the quality of the weapon system software, DAPA(Defense Acquisition Program Administration) has institutionalized software reliability in Weapon System Software Development and Management Manual. The manual presents specific methods and procedures to improve the weapon system software quality. In order to meet the required reliability test standards specified in the manual, it is necessary to continuously detect and correct defects throughout the entire development period. However, it is difficult to build proper reliability test environment due to the cost of software reliability tools, setting up secured and separated network environment, and etc. Therefore, in this study, we propose an efficient environment construction method for software reliability test of defense industry field in restricted development environment and limited resources.
