Prototype Implementation of a Context Awareness System by Analyzing Alarm and Neighborhood Environment for Managing Underground Facilities (알람정보와 인접환경 분석을 통한 지하시설물 상황인식 시스템의 프로토타입 구현)

  • Since urban facilities have a signigicant meaning that represents the degree of development of nations and cities, it is very important to effectively manage and operate the facilities. In this paper, we propose a context-awareness system for managing urban underground facilities intelligently and develop its algorithm and prototype. The algorithm of the suggested system includes the period from the point when various sensors set up in USN environments sense abnormal signals and make alarms to the point when the context-awareness system analyzes the alarm and sends the analysis results to integrated platform and related modules. We then implement the prototype of the proposed context awareness system and verify the effectiveness of the system by performing unit tests. Our developed prototype will become the basis of actual system development. We expect that the suggested system will be used as a good reference model of related systems managing various types of urban facilities.

An Observation-based Movement Control for Educational Coding Robots (코딩 학습용 로봇 제어를 위한 관찰 기반 움직임 제어)

  • Recently, a variety of methodologies based on the use of educational coding robots have been proposed and experimented in newly emerging korean educational coding markets. Due to imprecise movement accuracy of the existing coding robots, however, such robots are mainly used as a toy. Inspired by these observations, we developed a simple adjustment method during robot movements, which is based on the observation results of 6 line-tracking sensors: 3 sensors in the center of a robot and other 3 sensors at the front. These sensors help to determine whether the robot is in the right location and whether it rotates as expected. Through the well-designed experiments, we report the effectiveness of our proposed solution: the average distance error of 1.57cm and the average degree error of 2.38 degree before and after complex movements. In near future, we hope our method to be popularly used in various educational coding robot platforms.

  • Raspberry Pi is a credit card-sized computer with support for a large number of input and output peripherals. This makes it the perfect platform for interaction with many different devices and for usage in a wide range of applications. When combined with Wi-Fi, it can communicate remotely, therefore increasing its suitability for the construction of wireless sensor nodes. In addition, data processing and decision-making can be based on artificial intelligence, what is performed in developed testbed on the example of monitoring and determining the confidence of fire. In this paper, we demonstrated the usage of Raspberry Pi as a sensor web node for fire-safety monitoring in a building. When the UV-flame sensors detect a flame as thin as that of a candle, the Raspberry Pi sends a push-message to notify the assigned smartphone of the on-site situation through the GCM server. A mobile app was developed to provide a real-time video streaming service in order to determine a false alarm. If an emergency occurs, one can immediately call for help.

  • The Internet of Things has attracted considerable research attention in recent years. In order for the new IoT technology to be widely used, the reliability and protection of information is required. IoT systems are very vulnerable to physical security due to their easy accessibility. Along with the development of SoC technology, many operating systems have been developed and many new operating systems have been introduced. In this paper, we describe the vulnerability analysis results for operating systems running on the ARMv7 Thumb Architecture hardware platform. For the recently introduced "Windows 10 IoT Core" operating system, I implemented the Zero-Day Attack by implanting the penetration code developed through the research into a specific IoT system. The virus detection test for the resulting penetration code was validated by referral to the "virustotal" site.

  • Network virtualization technology is a crucial research issue of Future Internet which pursues a service-oriented architecture so-called NaaS (Network as a Service) or SDN (Software Defined Network). Network virtualization is expected to play an important role in Future Internet researches as a network testbed technology which enables innovative protocols to be experimented independently on a common testbed environment. We propose a control framework in order to provide user defined topology and bandwidth services with network virtualization and to separate and manage multiple-user traffics in a small and medium scale - single domain research network. The proposed framework (VIMS; Virtual network Integrated control and Management System) supports testbed expansions without any changes of heterogeneous virtual network support equipments through accommodation of each equipment's control plane. The framework shows a feasibility through applied to KOREN and we describe the differences and further study directions for improvement the framework comparing with GENI control framework.

  • This study examined the current status of ATE in the development stage of the domestic guided weapons field, including the re-establishment of automatic test equipment (ATE), and attempted to develop methods to verify the validity of ATE in the defense sector. This study includes methods for confirming the repeatability and reproducibility of newly manufactured or replaced ATE. An error injection test is required for validation in the development phase. And pre-inspection steps are required for validation. When developing ATE, the use of an international standard testing script language ensures efficient validation and SW reliability. This ensures interoperability between the main and test equipment, and the tester can secure a test system platform that supports standardized testing methods, which is considered to be effective in validating specific ATE for each weapon system.

  • 마이크로 플루이딕 디바이스는 화학, 생물학 실험 및 생체 의학 진단을 위한 플랫폼으로 지난 20년간 그 사용 및 연구가 증가되어 왔다. 마이크로 플루이딕 디바이스를 제작하는 데 있어 가장 일반적으로 사용되는 재료는 실리콘이지만 비용이 많이 들고 불투명하므로 광학 검출이 필요한 곳에 적용이 제한된다. 이러한 측면에서 열가소성 플라스틱은 상업화의 중요한 요소인 대량 생산에 있어 큰 잠재력을 가지고 있으며 저렴하고, 가공이 쉽고, 유연하고, 광학적으로 투명하고, 화학적으로 불활성이며, 생체적합성을 가진다. 본 연구에서는 열가소성 플라스틱의 일종인 PMMA Poly(methylmethacrylate)를 효율적으로 접합하기 위해 비교적 낮은 온도와 낮은 압력에서 에탄올을 활용한 접착방식을 개발하였다. 먼저, PMMA 기판의 전체 표면을 $80^{\circ}C$에서 20 분 동안 에탄올로 처리한 후, $60^{\circ}C$에서 20 분간 열 압착하는 방식으로 영구적인 결합이 이루어졌다. 결합 강도 및 채널의 sealing 정도를 확인하기 위해, 인장 강도, 누수 및 파열 테스트를 수행하였다. 결합강도는 약 12.4 MPa로 타 연구와 비교할 때 매우 높았으며 마이크로 채널의 전체 내부 체적보다 거의 450 배 높은 강한 액체 흐름을 견딜 정도로 견고한 결합이 유지되었다. 열가소성 플라스틱의 본딩에 사용되는 유기 용매는 광학 특성을 희생시키지 않으면서 결합 속도를 높일 수 있지만, 결합 공정 중에 용매로 인해 마이크로 채널이 막히는 현상이 발생될 수 있다. 따라서, 견고한 본딩을 유지하면서 채널 막힘을 방지하기 위해 마이크로 채널을 소수성으로 선택적으로 처리하여 내벽의 표면 특성을 튜닝해 주는 기법을 추가로 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 방법은 아민-PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) 링커를 적용하여 기판 표면의 극성을 변경시켜 주었다. 아민-PDMS 링커는 PC (polycarbonate), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PVC (polyvinyl chloride) 및 PI (polyimide)와 같은 다양한 열가소성 플라스틱의 표면 소수성을 현저히 증가시키며 화학적, 열적 안정성이 뛰어나다. 아민-PDMS 링커는 PMMA의 카보닐 그룹과 반응할 수 있는 아민 사이드 그룹을 포함하는 PDMS 백본으로 구성되며 처리된 대상표면을 소수성으로 만든다. 아민-PDMS 링커 처리 이후 채널은 소수성으로 변화되었으며 이는 접촉각(contact angle)의 증가로 확인되었다. 코팅된 채널을 에탄올로 30분간 80도에서 처리하여도 소수성은 그대로 유지되어 마이크로 채널의 선택적인 소수성 코팅이 성공적으로 수행되었다.

Development of Total Cholesterol Detection System by Fluorescence Chromatography (형광 크로마토그래피에 의한 콜레스테롤 측정법의 개발)

  • In this study, we have developed a fluorescence chromatographic assay for the quantification of total cholesterol in serum, which is a well-known risk predictor for cardiovascular diseases. The new assay system consists of a chromatographic strip in a cartridge, enzyme buffer containing cholesterol esterase, cholesterol oxidase, horseradish peroxidase, and color developer AEC, and a laser fluorescence scanner. The correlation coefficient (r) between cholesterol concentration and relative fluorescence units was 0.968 in the new assay, showing a reliable linearity through the tested range of cholesterol. Recovery test and comparability with a Hitachi 747 instrument showed 106.5-94% and r = 0.939 (p<0.001), respectively. The new assay system for cholesterol was developed as a pre-POCT platform conducted in clinics since it is fast (8 min) and uses a small volume of sample ($5\;{\mu}l$), and it may be applied for on-site diagnostics to replace expensive automated biochemical analyzer.

Implementation of 6LoWPAN Testbed: Location Tracking Service Based on Google Map (구글맵을 이용한 위치 추적 서비스를 제공하는 6LoWPAN 테스트베드 구현)

  • Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is one of the key technologies that make it possible to provide u-service in a ubiquitous society, however, it has disadvantages such as difficulty of managing sensor nodes and weaknesses of stability or mobility in large-scale WSNs. In order to solve these problems, 6LoWPAN that integrates with WSNs and IP networks has been studied widely. In this paper, we propose a Location Tracking Service Based on Google Map (LTSGM) system using 6LoWPAN. Since LTSGM system provides visual location information of sensor nodes through Google Map, it is possible to makes it easier than ever to manage sensor nodes in large-scale WSNs. Moreover, LTSGM can be used for various services such as applications for disaster or crime because it can trace the location of mobile nodes. Implementation of LTSGM system will be a test platform for 6LoWPAN.

  • Success of brought a large revolution in the world of cinema and the media market. They have predicted new industrial possibility for 3D Stereoscopic image and trends started to support for producing in the field of various media platform. We can see our domestic technology creates higher added value in the sphere of hard-wear for the market of worldwide home TV electronics. But in reality we are short of effective and organized pipeline of producing and we should analyse cases more for Stereoscopic 3D animations. Therefore in this paper, we present case study on animation made into Stereoscopic 3D animation to build up suitable Stereoscopic 3D TV animations pipeline. We differentiate from any other Stereoscopic content by applying artistic elements and technological elements, especially human factor and 3D Sweetening to elevate the level of 3D Stereoscopic effect for main audience, children. We propose how to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean animation for world animation market.
